Guestbook comments from the owner

Great getaway just outside Lampeter, beautiful setting and a well presented cottage, plenty of places to visit, eateries and if you have children/teenagers a trip to Saddle Tramps (15 minutes drive) is a must, this is a great find and hopefully a place to revisit later in the summer.

Very impressed with the standard on offer. It was a real home from home.

Despite a 'selection' of weather we really enjoyed our stay. It was an idyllic cottage, away from the hustle + bustle of the town and main roads. A glorious view across the valley and we enjoyed our evening tea whilst sitting outside taking in the view. There is a climb up from the back door to a meadow which has seating and the climb is well worth the extra height to the view across the valley. The photos on the website do not do justice to the facilities in the cottage and it is nicely carpeted throughout - apart from the functional quarry tiled kitchen floor.

It was ideally situated for our visits to the coast, inland attractions and we can recommend the 'over the Cambrian mountains old drovers road ' from Tregaron to Llanwrty Wells with afternoon tea in the Drovers Rest Tea Rooms in Llanwrty which has a balcony overlooking the river (if the weather is kind).

The only hiccup was that the microwave 'blew' but the owner responded almost immediately and the problem was solved. We would recommend this cottage and have done so to my sister + her husband who may be booking for later this year.

Stunning home

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Apple tree and couldn't believe how beautiful it is. The house has been done to such a high standard and a lot of thought has gone into it to make it feel cosy and homey. The only disappointment was the meadow. It is on an extremely steep incline and anyone with mobility issues would not make it up there. sitting up there was awkward because everything was on a slope, there were great views but these are also visible from the cottage.

The house was beautiful, access to walks and open pubs was an issue as we were just coming into season and most walks had to be driven to rather than walking distance.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words about the cottage. It enjoys fantastic views because it is on a hillside, so naturally the meadow is quite steep. However, there is a large level picnic area with swings, badminton court and seating a few steps up from the cottage, plus two level seating areas higher up. Although the meadow is not suitable for those of limited mobility, there are three level terraces with garden furniture immediately adjacent to the cottage. The meadows and all the level seating areas are featured in the photo gallery.

Had a perfect stay. Great location with access to lots of coastal walking. Loved the outside space, plenty of spots to enjoy the views over the valley from the gardens and dogs loved exercising in the meadow.

Lots of extra details that made out week extremely comfortable. Many thanks
