1 Bedroom Apartment With Estuary Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 27-Oct-2016
Ground Floor Apartment With Fine Views & 5 Mins Walk Into The Heart of Salcombe

This is our much loved 'bolt hole' ground floor apartment which has been finished to a high standard with bright and light accommodation in beautiful Salcombe. We have furnished it as our own and have just had it completely redecorated with new furniture, so it is very much a 'home from home' rather than a typical holiday let. A peaceful, five minute meander away from the heart of it all means that; whilst being close enough to Fore Street, this flat also offers lots of outside space. Steps lead up to the front door and an attractive veranda enjoying views over the town to the Estuary in the distance which provides a perfect setting for alfresco dining. A private sitting out area with a veranda to the rear of the building, perfect for BBQs. There is a further communal garden area to the rear of the property with established shrubs. It is a really comfortable, peaceful little pad. One generously large double bedroom with LCD TV, window overlooking the rear garden. En-suite bathroom with rainfall shower head, ceramic WC unit, ceramic basin & double door vanity units, bath with modern style mixer tap with hand held shower extension, tiled walls and floor. Airing cupboard. Large sitting room with TV and deep silled window with outstanding views over Scoble Point and South Pool creek towards East Portlemouth in the distance. Opening through to the kitchen/breakfast room with granite work tops, Ceramic hob unit with extractor hood over, electric double oven, dishwasher & washing machine.

Salcombe is a famous resort and sailing centre. It is the Southernmost town in the South Hams: an area of unspoilt natural beauty, so rich and varied, there is always something new to discover. Salcombe is surrounded by tranquil countryside with a magnificent scenic coastline.

Wonderful holiday excellent apartment well equipped with more than needed for a self catering break. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. View from terrace very good unfortunately for us only when the fog lifted.

A great apartment in an ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a really enjoyable stay in this modern, comfortable and well equipped apartment. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the wooden flooring made it easy to keep clean. The views from the front of the property are stunning and the town of Salcombe is only a short walk away. Once in town there are many specialist and well known shops and also many great eating places. It is a busy little town but with the property being located so close to it there are no problems with parking! We especially enjoyed using the little ferry over to East Portlemouth. This is a great area for visiting lovely beaches and interesting towns such as Totnes and Kingsbridge. Larger places such as Plymouth and Dartmouth are not far either. We would have no hesitation recommending this property as a great place for a holiday but I would say that the steep roads down into Salcombe and the same walk back would mean that it may not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Holiday 30/7/16 to 6/8/16 apartment Salcombe.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great holiday in Salcombe . The apartment was lovely. Everything one could need in the apartment very well equipped. The bed was so comfortable. The one draw back was that the tenants of the other apartments could look straight into the lounge as they entered the building. May be a verticle blind of some kind would solve the problem without restricting the lovely view. There was loads of information in the apartment of places to visit and things to do. I would say that the walk back to the apartment from the town was quite steep and I can see now why there is a hand rail at the side of Acland road. We loved the apartment and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.

Great place to stay for a weeks holiday

  • 5 of 5

Apartment spotlessy clean, kitchen immaculate, bathroom and bedroom were just what you'd expect and the lounge area was a comfortable area to relax after a hard days sunbathing. Instructions to find the apartment and gain access were clear, even for me. Town centre only 10 minutes walk away in which there are several friendly hostelries. Only issue was no hot water on our final day but the agents were in the process of sorting this out. It is certainly a place we would visit again with no hesitation.

Nice clean apartment with a lovely view of Salcombe.

  • 4 of 5

Apartment is clean and spacious with all mod cons in the kitchen. Views from the front window are spectacular and Salcombe itself is very attractive and nicely located for day trips elsewhere. The climb from Salcombe back to the apartment is steep but using the park and ride, which runs every 20 minutes resolved this problem.

Exceeded expectation in every way!

  • 5 of 5

The flat is equipped to a high standard including a first rate bathroom. The owner has anticipated every need or responded fully to feedback because everything you could possibly need is provided.

The property was extremely clean throughout.

We lost hot water at one point but we contacted the number provided and a plumber was there within two hours quickly identifying a pipe that had not been connected properly.

We won't hesitate to recommend it to our friends and family.
