About the property

Ground Floor Apartment With Fine Views & 5 Mins Walk Into The Heart of Salcombe

This is our much loved 'bolt hole' ground floor apartment which has been finished to a high standard with bright and light accommodation in beautiful Salcombe. We have furnished it as our own and have just had it completely redecorated with new furniture, so it is very much a 'home from home' rather than a typical holiday let. A peaceful, five minute meander away from the heart of it all means that; whilst being close enough to Fore Street, this flat also offers lots of outside space. Steps lead up to the front door and an attractive veranda enjoying views over the town to the Estuary in the distance which provides a perfect setting for alfresco dining. A private sitting out area with a veranda to the rear of the building, perfect for BBQs. There is a further communal garden area to the rear of the property with established shrubs. It is a really comfortable, peaceful little pad. One generously large double bedroom with LCD TV, window overlooking the rear garden. En-suite bathroom with rainfall shower head, ceramic WC unit, ceramic basin & double door vanity units, bath with modern style mixer tap with hand held shower extension, tiled walls and floor. Airing cupboard. Large sitting room with TV and deep silled window with outstanding views over Scoble Point and South Pool creek towards East Portlemouth in the distance. Opening through to the kitchen/breakfast room with granite work tops, Ceramic hob unit with extractor hood over, electric double oven, dishwasher & washing machine.

Salcombe is a famous resort and sailing centre. It is the Southernmost town in the South Hams: an area of unspoilt natural beauty, so rich and varied, there is always something new to discover. Salcombe is surrounded by tranquil countryside with a magnificent scenic coastline.

Wonderful holiday excellent apartment well equipped with more than needed for a self catering break. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. View from terrace very good unfortunately for us only when the fog lifted.

The property was very nice, but they should let people know how hilly it Is.

  • 4 of 5

We did not enjoy it, as I said very hilly and the weather was awful, so we came home earlier than we should. But the apparent was very nice.

Ideal location for staying in salcombe

  • 3 of 5

Property was functional for our stay.

There's plenty to do in and around Salcombe whatever the weather-lovely beaches, ferry trips, towns to explore, electric bike riding on Dartmoor, wine & cheese tasting......

Lovely roomy, comfortable, modern and clean apartment. Good location near town centre, great view.

  • 4 of 5

Loved salcombe, first time visit. Apartment was good, plenty of storage, well equipt and clean and modern. We loved the fact that we did not need to use the car to get in and out of town and could use ferries and walk for miles. Hills take a bit of getting used too, good workout! Local spar very convenient, friendly staff. Would recommend bistro 73 for meals, ( need to book) although we did not have a disappointing meal anywhere in town.

Excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a nice spacious apartment for two people and the facilities are very good. Lovely views over the estuary and nice garden.

Other people have mentioned that people in the other apartments can look in on their way into the building but it wasn't an issue for us and in fact the reflections in the window prevent it - you can see them but they can't see you!

Highly recommended although only for people who are reasonably fit because it's a bit of a climb from the town centre.

Perfect for a couple

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Lyndhurst. We love the apartment because its very comfortable and well equipped. It was spotless when we arrived. The bathroom looked as though it had only been recently fitted and had a lovely power shower - just what you need after a long day walking in the hot sun.

It's so useful to have an allocated parking space too, this is a real bonus in Salcombe where parking spaces seem to be generally in short supply.

Nice views over the estuary, and only a 5 minute walk into town, although you will have a fairly steep climb back home again!

We will definitely be looking to book Lyndhurst again next year.

Well equipped, modern and very clean apartment

  • 4 of 5

This was a well-equipped, clean and modern apartment, just about right for two people. The location was convenient for the centre of Salcombe, with a nice view of part of the estuary, albeit requiring a strenuous, uphill return journey. The Spar shop within a few minutes' walk was surprisingly well stocked. We enjoyed wonderful weather - sunny most of the time - for the time of year, and were able to get to a wide variety of interesting places, either by walking directly from the apartment, catching the 606 bus by the Health Centre, or via fairly short car rides. The only down-side was the parking spot - rather narrow, especially when unloading luggage, and on a slope. Fortunately, the area was rather quiet and so we parked on the road nearby. However, this is likely to be more difficult during summer peak periods. Not much could be done to widen the parking bays while keeping four; but levelling off the slope would make getting in and out easier. Despite this mild criticism, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment to others.
