You can walk to enjoy the most beautiful and undiscovered treasures of North Pembrokeshire which remains unspoilt and undeveloped. And use the cottage as the centre of a touring holiday in the area. Our pricing is keen and kind - no half-term or bank holiday premiums - weekly prices which compare favourably with others. Pencraig is ideally located for a great holiday or short break for up to four people. It's a seven minute walk down the lane to the beach and then to Dinas Island beyond. The 'island' farm is now owned by the National Trust and the walk around the perimeter voted more than once AA 'Walk of the Year'. The cottage is neither overlooked or part of an estate or development. The beach and the whole Pembrokeshire coast is a natural attraction. The heather and hills in the National Park are just a mile or so away. When it comes to finding a good restaurant or local food there's no better town than Newport which is just 3 miles from the cottage. Newport has some of the best restaurants in the county, a fabulous beach and dunes, an 18 hole links golf course, unique boat club.
The cottage is ideal for quick breaks throughout the year as well as more conventional holidays. Peaceful and private, it's a ideal place for visitors to enjoy themselves.

PENCRAIG NEWS
It's great to have friends coming to stay for Christmas and New Year - they came last year and enjoyed the holiday so much they are back for more. Having had some Christmasses at Pencraig with my family I know how good it is. The cathedral at St Davids is of course a focus for all Christians, and the festivities in Newport are always spectacular. Catch some good weather and Jan-Feb can be a great time of year to tramp the Prescelis and the Coastal Path, and I keep the rental cost low - remember the price includes your electric and gas (please don't waste!). Get into March, the first daffodils, St Davids day and then the lovely month of April, and the season is away. Again at very reasonable prices, and I will always match those of truly comparable properties. Best wishes, Mike D

I'm an international agricultural journalist, and founder and editor of Practical Farm Ideas magazine. Pencraig was bought when I sold the dairy herd, as a lifetime country retreat where the family - I have four grown-up children and grandchildren - can get to and enjoy privacy in a way that's impossible in hotels, parcs and other mass-market venues.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 1996
We found Pwllgwaelod beach shortly after moving to West Wales, and thought it magical, but for years were unable to re-discover it. Then we found Pencraig was for sale, and there was no question that this was the place to buy. It's small, but plenty large enough for a family of four to get a great holiday.
Prices: for some reason the rate list insists on saying the rates are 'From £...' . It's not 'from'. That's the price we ask you to pay. There are no meters, so gas, electric TV etc all included. No wi-fi - sorry.
"This place hasn't changed in 40 years" a passer-by remarked to me when I was doing the grass last year, and he's not far wrong. The coast is uncrowded and just not really discovered by the holiday industry, and long may that continue.
Second time here and as good as the first time we visited! Felt like we came home when we visited again. Planned to use Pencraig as a base to walk the first part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and it is ideally based for this part of the coast, central to so many walks and so comfortable to come home to, log fire and chilled wine waiting! 12 hours sleep in the comfiest bed. Thank you, Mike!
Lovely quiet cottage perfect for the preselies the coast for stormy nights and for us
Just spent a lovely relaxing week here. Great location, short walk down the hill to beautiful beach. Daughter loved climbing and rock pooling! Friendly local pubs. Cosy cottage to come back to and chill in front of the fire. perfect break, Pembrokeshire just beautiful. Thanks mike!
WERE did have a great time
Easy and relaxing cottage. Good position for coastal walks and beaches
Perfect getaway. Had everything we needed and a only a short walk down to Pwllgwaelod to watch the sunset. Close to the road but it is not busy at all. Combi boiler meant we had hot water and heating when we needed it and the shower is powerful.

The north coast of Pembrokeshire has cliffs and coves, places to explore and enjoy. Visitors will find attractive and affordable places to visit and eat in. The National Park includes a swathe of open country in the Prescelli hills which are very close to Dinas village (1 mile). Pwllgwaelod is a sandy cove facing Fishguard bay, and Cwm-yr-Egwys a similar cove facing Newport Bay. These beaches provide safe swimming and have natural shelter. The area has plenty of history - ancient chapels, monuments and burial sites, and St Davids Cathedral.

Riding, boats and swimming, walking, and some great off-road bike trails make N Pembs a place for where you can enjoy activities at reasonable prices and without crowds. There's a lot of culture, Brynhenllan village having a number of well known artists as residents. The St Davids music festival in the cathedral, the Fishguard Music Festival and other music activities such as Cardigan Eisteddfod, male voice choirs all provide different and memorable evenings. Being outside busy Newport can be a bonus in the summer season. You can borrow my 14ft Skipper dinghy if you're a competent sailor. There is a bike at the cottage, and another available.
