Renovated 19th century Chalet D'Alpage, an ideal unique summer or winter retreat
Chalet F’Net above Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, is one of the most romantic small chalets in the Alps; an evocation of the elegance and romance of the bygone era of Hepburn, Grant, Niven and Aran Sweaters and a great location whatever the season.
Jamie – our own Alpine Gillie, or Guardian – is on hand in the separate Mazot to bring your luggage, and sometimes you, up to Le F’Net and bring you fresh bread daily and sometimes Alpine Smokies, his take on the famous Arbroath Smokie.
In fact St Gervais has been popular in the summer for well over a 100 years with fabulous mountain walks, mountain biking trails, glistening lakes and of course the famous St. Gervais thermal baths. All less than a hour’s drive from Geneva. So use this link to see a preview of Summer in St. Gervais.
An 19th century Chalet d’Alpage (shepherd’s refuge) and Mazot, a mini-chalet, Le F’Net is less than an hour’s drive from Geneva perched on the trail up to the Prarion Mountain; with superb views across St Gervais and towards the glorious Chaine D’Aravis mountain range. Surrounded by its own private woodland and a slice of now defunct piste it is a short walk from parking or directly accessible by 4×4, and even in full snow it is only a ten minute walk or an even shorter skidoo ride or ski Joring (towed by horse on skis); yet feels like a world away.
• romantic two bedroom, two bathroom, refuge-de-luxe
• less than an hour from Geneva
• superb views across St Gervais & towards the glorious Chaine D'Aravis mountain
• two bedrooms, one en-suite, one with copper bath; sleeping four to six
• separate one bedroom self-contained Matzot with resident Guardian
David and Anjana Devoy – the couple behind Grand Designs’ Curved House, Clapham (C4, 2003 & 2004) – have re-create Le F’Net as an authentic mountain retreat with as much passion and style as they brought to their previous projects which include Red Kite Barn (Wales), their Red Kite Tree Tent (Britain’s first tree tent hotel) that featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces (C4, November 2012) and the totally unique Ladderstile House on Richmond Park.
