About Pere

I am a Mallorcan nature lover and traveller living in Pollença, between the sea and the mountains.

Our sea front apartment is the ideal base for touring the island in search of birds, landscapes, nature and culture, as you will be very close to the most famous nature hotspots. I am a member of "Bed & Birding, homes made for birders", a network of accommodation that offer an exclusive range of facilities specific for birders. Should you wish to do a birding or nature tour, I will be happy to provide any useful information and experienced local guides (on request). Just ask me!

What makes this apartment unique

Impressive views: the sea at the front, the mountains at the rear. Quiet beach at 20 meters with umbrellas and sunbeds. Large pedestrian area with trees in front of the building, ideal for children, and a forest public park right at the back. Truly relaxing atmosphere.

The town centre is just at a 10 minute walk along the beautiful seaside Pine Walk. Well connected by car with main roads to Formentor, Pollença, airport and the rest of the island. Nature walks within walking distance (Boquer Valley, Albercutx...).

A public car park is at 10 meters, a supermarket and a café at 50 meters and several restaurants within 150 meters. Many more restaurants, bars and shops as well as all the services that you may need (doctor, chemist's, banks, petrol, car and bicycle hire, tourist information, post office, water sports, sports centre, gym, etc.) are available in the town centre. There are three local markets in the vicinity: on Wednesdays in Puerto Pollença, and on Sundays in Alcudia and Pollença (both at 7 km away).

Spacious, no-frills apartment in ideal location

The apartment is in an (almost) front line location in the most attractive part of Porto Pollensa. It's on three levels and is spacious and comfortable, though dated (a distinct 70s vibe), and could do with some upgrading. Everything worked, however, and it was clean and tidy. The downstairs shower is only suitable for children, due to insufficient head room. It would have been nice to have had more in the way of everyday necessities provided – eg there was only one toilet roll (in only one of the two toilets), no hand soap, salt and pepper etc. The owner was helpful and easy to deal with; he responded quickly when there was a problem with the fridge/freezer.

It is true that our apartment is not the type of modern minimalistic design as it can be clearly seen in the photographs of our listing, however it was built much later than the 70s. We take note of the comments about the shower and will do our best to improve it. We make sure that guests find everything that is mentioned on our listing and phtographs, and when we include more facilities we will certainly mention them on the ad. Highly recommended: perfect place perfect holidays

Very comfortable apartment in a beautiful place just in front of the sea. Ideal location for walking to the nearby countryside and to Puerto Pollensa town centre along the wonderful and quiet Pine Walk. The apartment is exactly as in the description: fully furnished and has everything we needed for a perfect stay: comfortable sitting-dinning room, nice bedrooms with balconies open to the mountains, fully equipped kitchen, heating and overall a wonderful terrace where we had breakfast every morning under the great weather (sun was shining all week!!). It was clean and nicely decorated.

The owner was very kind and helpful and gave us suggestions for places to eat and visit.

very disappointing

Fantastic location in quiet area of the sea front with excellent parking facilities and a convenience store. Excellent WIFI system. Balcony and living room are ok. But unfortunately the set up of the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms does not meet by far Swiss or German standards. Everything / equipment (when provided) is minimalist and cheap. For the price one would expect a bit more luxury and convenience.

Owner's Response: We are really surprised by this comment as so far we had no negative reviews on none of the websites where our apartment is listed; it looks like a kind of revenge for having to make the payment before 24 hours. In any case, we do not advertise our apartment as a luxury one; in the apartment there is everything mentioned on the description (included all the equipment) and the photos are all real, so our guests can see all the premises before booking. The apartment meets good quality Mallorcan standards, and it is not fair to compare them to German/Swiss standards where prices are much higher and certainly we are not in any of those countries!! Guests always find everything mentioned on our listing which is of very good quality and when we include more facilities we will certainly mention them on the ad. Obviously it is not possible to meet all the "special" tastes of every single person. On the other hand, it is important to mention that during your stay, the guests in the apartment below made complains about much noise early in the morning and late at night. Something that has never happened before. Anyway, we very much hope that you enjoyed your holidays and that you liked Puerto Pollença and Mallorca, as much as all our other guests did.

The apartment is very well connected with the main roads to Formentor, Pollensa, Alcudia, the airport and the rest of the island. Puerto de Pollensa town centre is within walking distance (less than 10 minutes); there are regular bus services to Pollensa, Palma, Alcudia, Cala San Vicente, Formentor, Inca and Soller.

BIRDING, TREKKING & NATURE: Pollença is well known among European birders and nature lovers as being the hotspot for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Most migratory birds cross this area during their long journeys both in spring and in autumn; threatened and rare species in Europe breed and can easily be seen here; many endemic plants and orchids are found in Pollença’s mountains, forests and coasts. We can recommend experienced local guides for birding and other outdoor activities such as trekking, kayaking, canyoning, rock climbing...

SAILING: Pollensa Bay is one of the best and safest areas for sailing and water sports in Mallorca. There is a wide range of charter boat companies where you can book a boat trip. Water skiing, wind surf, kite surf, kayak, scuba diving and other water sports are available in the area.

CULTURE: Pollença holds many remains of the ancient cultures and traditions, such as Bronze and Iron Ages settlements, a medieval castle, several churches and museums, 16th century coast watching towers and traditional rural architecture and uses (lime and charcoal kilns). Do not miss the impressive Roman city and theatre of Pollentia, in nearby Alcudia.

For music lovers, Pollença hosts every summer the famous "Festival de Pollença" in the ancient cloister of Santo Domingo Convent. World famous musicians and interpreters perform every year at the Festival.

- The minimum stay is 1 week and the apartment is rented for entire weeks (from Saturday to Saturday); in low season the minimum stay is 5 days. Contact us if you wish a shorter stay.
- The apartment is booked from 4pm on day of arrival until 11am on the departure day.
- No pets allowed.
- It is not allowed to have parties, make noise or shout; this is a residential area.
- Take care of the apartment, furniture and fixtures, as if they were your own, and leave them as you found them.
- Leave the apartment clean and tidy (general final cleaning is provided).
- Make a wise use of the air conditioning (e.g. DON'T keep it on when the windows are open or when your are not at the apartment), so you will not contribute to global warming and climate change (we are really concerned about it).
- ALWAYS lock the main door when leaving the apartment.
- Park your car in the free public car park next to the building, not under the apartment.

- IMPORTANT: This is a private rental directly from the owner under the Spanish Law of Urban Leases (LAU).

- IMPORTANT: In 2017 we may be obliged to collect the new tourist tax from the guests upon arrival at the apartment (1 Euro per person over 16).
