About this property

Newly renovated, luxurious, spacious & characteristic chalet in St Jean d'Aulps

Chalet 'Fleur d'Aulps' is a beautiful traditional alpine farmhouse dating from 1796. The building was converted to a ski chalet with care and respect for its history, and has recently undergone a luxurious renovation.
The Chalet has 6 well-appointed bedrooms with beautifully equipped ensuites. The two Suite style Master bedrooms both have Baths and Showers. Master bedrooms also have televisions.
Downstairs there is a fabulous open plan living area now featuring a central open fire and snug area to sit and read or play chess! Two 3 metre windows create a picture onto the forest opposite the house giving a real feel of bringing the outside in. The trees are back lit by a flood light which creates a fabulous view at night.
The cosy kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a self- catered holiday with all new modern appliances and the main feature of an Aga (3 ovens). (Catering can also be arranged if desired.) The large table easily seats 12 people. It is equipped with a dishwasher and a large refrigerator. There is also a Laundry/Store room with washing machine and tumble dryer, additional fridge and lots of storage space.
There is a spacious sauna room which features another bathroom with both bath tub and shower and there is a downstairs toilet for your convenience. There is lots of ski and boot storage in the hallway upstairs and a further hallway downstairs.
Outside there is a large south-facing terrace of nearly 300 sq.m. with a large stone fire pit, hot tub, and spectacular views of the valley and mountains. Wifi, satellite TV (English and French), and DVD are available. Parking site for 6+ cars outside the chalet. The chalet is secluded and near a river which can be heard when the windows are open. Access in winter may require snow tyres, 4x4 or chains. Although close to town and skiing, the chalet is wonderfully secluded. A truly beautiful Chalet to have the perfect vacation.

Pleasant alpine chalet
We had a good time, the location is great. We had to repair a number of outside adirondack chairs (tighten loose screws) and rattan woven chairs (missing screws). The deck needs considerable attention - lots of splinters in the feet, warped boards sticking up and causing trips. We had to sharpen kitchen knives which were all blunt. The kitchen sink had no traps to stop muck going down the waste and blocking it, so water drained away slowly- and in some bathrooms too. Finding out which lights were controlled by which switches was a detective hunt. The outside table was a bit small for us eleven. So the chalet needs some attention to detail. But nevertheless it was a pleasant stay.

Great Chalet
Stayed for 3 weeks in July and had a great time. Actually our 2nd visit. Great communication with the owner and on the ground support. Photo's are an accurate reflection of this lovely property which is located at the end of a farm road with virtually no noise or light pollution. Although you need a car, quite a lot to do locally in the summer and that seems to be increasing. You walk to a few restaurants up the hill at the ski station, hire bikes, scooters, etc. A lot of nice cycle routes and walks in the vicinity and you can walk to Morzine in 1 hour 40 mins along the river (25 mins or so by bike). Enjoy!

Wonderful for family get together
Amazing conversion of old farm property. Skiers have two options. Either walk up shortcut to the St Jean gondel station (able to store hire skis in Skiset hire shop) or 5 minute drive - St Jean D'Aulps is a separate ski area from Portes de Soleil but excellent for small children.. Or drive (15 minutes) to Montriond for access to main area.

Wonderful stay in the Alps
My family and I stayed in this amazing chalet in the Alps. We spent a fantastic stay at this beautiful home with a well styled inside and an outstanding outside with a fantastic view of the valley. The rooms are really stunning, each with its own bathroom. Everything is in place for a fantastic time. Imagine yourself relaxing in your luxurious hot tub in the Alps. The owners and property owners are really communicative. We enthusiastically suggest the location for a great experience with family and friends. Definitely, we'll be back!

Great Chalet in peaceful location
Fantastic holiday with 5 adults and 6 teenagers. Chalet is beautiful and has everything you need to relax after a busy day exploring the local area. The owner Patti was very quick confirming the booking as well as providing all required information and Kate was equally very helpful during our stay.
