Highlights

This luxury penthouse apartment is a rare treat in La Tzoumaz: 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms on the top floor, ski-in and ski-out access, and an easy walk to the town centre! From the moment the automatic garage door opens to allow you into the snow-free underground parking, everything has been designed with skiers in mind: the lift from the parking level opens directly into the apartment, so to go skiing you only have to descend into the parking, collect your skis and boots from the secure, heated lockers and be transferred directly onto the piste by a shuttle cabin on rails that easily climbs the 80m distance up the near-vertical mountainside, so that you don’t have to! This is what makes this luxury apartment ski-in-ski-out. No more struggling onto a ski-bus with arms full of children’s skis and poles, and no need to walk around in your ski-boots. There’s also no need to clear snow from your car in the mornings as you can just park it indoors and forget about it until the end of your stay. The 220m2 Penthouse benefits from fantastic views across the valley and to the mountains up to 20km away. The large windows of the open living / dining area were specially designed to make the most of this ever-changing vista.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The apartment comfortably sleeps 12 in five spacious bedrooms. There are two double bedrooms & two twin bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom.

The fifth bedroom comes complete with four single beds, private bathroom, bean-bags, TV and games console. When used as a child’s dormitory, this room transforms into a magical play space in the rafters. As this room has limited head room in some parts and 76cm-wide beds it is ideally suited to children, but not exclusively so.

Three of the en-suite bathrooms have a sink, shower and WC. The remaining two have a sink, bath with shower and WC.

If you wish to travel with children under 2 years old, just let us know and we will provide a travel cot and a high chair for you.

Equipment

In the granite-topped kitchen you will find all the equipment you may need: a fridge, grill and an oven with induction hob. A kettle, toaster, microwave, blender and coffee-machine, plus fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. The wooden dining area has seating for 14 people. A hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor barbecue are all available for you to use and there is a shared (coin-operated) washing machine and dryer available in the building. Large ski-lockers with built-in electric boot heaters provide the perfect solution to storing and drying your ski equipment, ready for the next day. They are on the ground floor of the building right next to the entrance to the shuttle that carries you up to the piste.

Relaxing

Relax into a Chesterfield sofa or a leather armchair in the large living / dining area after a hard day on the slopes, watch a Satellite TV programme or a DVD on the flat-screen television, dock your iPod and listen to the stereo, or simply sit on the balcony and admire the beautiful panoramic views that face the apartment. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond. A second table area in a charming bay window makes a great space for some quiet reading or a game of cards. There is a selection of games to keep the children entertained (and perhaps the adults…) although the children will probably spend much of their free time hiding upstairs in the children’s room with its TV, games console and fun, shuttered windows which overlook the main living area!

Two underground parking spaces are included. Car not necessary in winter due to proximity to ski-lifts, restaurants and supermarket. Contact us for airport or railway transfers.

Winter

This apartment is ski-in and ski-out (and sledge-in and sledge-out)! During the ski season, you only have to step into the shuttle cabin from the car park and you are carried the 80m uphill to the piste. From here you only need to ski (or sledge) 300m down the main piste and you arrive at the Savoleyres telecabin. At the end of the last run of the day, don’t forget to stop before the end and hop into the shuttle cabin to be carried the last 80m to your door. The main piste is not accessible to complete beginners, who would need to walk the 300m to the ski-school meeting point at the telecabin. The modern high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be offering discounted ski-passes to everyone staying with us from Winter 2015/16. To be eligible for the 10% discount, ski-passes must be ordered and paid in full 12 days in advance of your first ski day. We accept all major credit cards. Orders received up to 2 days in advance are not eligible for the 10% discount however they will be printed for collection with your keys when you arrive in the resort. Last minute orders will be available for collection on the morning after you arrive. Discounted passes are available for all age-groups, for durations from one half-day up to 21 days, and cover the Savoleyres, Verbier or 4-Valleys sectors. The discount does not apply to the insurance options available. Ski-passes can neither be cancelled nor exchanged once they have been ordered. The discount is applicable in high, medium and low season and also applies to family rates. It is not cumulative with any other offers or reductions. On arrival in the resort we will also provide you with discount vouchers for various other services, such as ski equipment rental.

Summer

In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. The “Bisses” are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved now and can be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We’ll provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier.

In the peak summer season from early July to late August, the telecabin link to Verbier operates daily from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian or accompanied by your bicycle. You can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for Europe’s highest fondue and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Don’t miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.17th July to 2nd August 2015.

Fantastic apartment which offers the most luxurious accommodation with direct access to the slopes

Amazing apartment in a beautiful village which is incredibly close to Verbier. Direct access to the slopes via the apartments own ski lift makes getting onto the slopes effortless in the morning. Very well equipped apartment which meant we had everything we needed for a great holiday!

we had a lovely stay in the penthouse, it's a very nice location. It was clean and well-maintained.

The dishwasher was broke and they sended someone to fix it, and we've got a compensation for the period it was not functional.

There was a good acces to the ski pistes and also a central location in the village.

We're very certain that we would like to come back !

Sehr schönes Appartment mit grosszügigen Zimmern

Die Wohnung ist wunderschön und bietet für eine grössere Gruppe eine ideale Unterkunft. Die Küche ist verhältnismässig klein, grundsätzlich aber gut ausgerüstet (leider war das Geschirr nicht wirklich sauber). Auch die Wohnungsinfrastruktur bietet einiges, die Wohnung selbst war einfach staubig.

Genial ist, dass jedes Doppelzimmer über ein eigenes Badzimmer verfügt. Je nach Jahreszeit (wir waren Mitte Mai dort), geniesst man die Sonne auf dem Balkon nur wenige Stunden lang am Vormittag. Die Lage der Wohnung ist wohl v.a. im Winter sehr gut mit direktem Lift zu der Skipiste.

The versatile resort of La Tzoumaz is nestled just over the back of Verbier’s Mount Savoleyres with access to all of the famous Verbier 4-Valleys slopes and off-piste areas in winter. From La Tzoumaz you can ride the same legendary pistes and powder bowls, but accommodation prices are only a fraction of those in Verbier itself! Every property is prepared to high standards and each has a stunning panoramic view of the mountains and valley. The resort is only 1h45 from Geneva Airport, and transfers can be arranged on request. We live in the resort year-round and are on hand to welcome you on your arrival and to help you with anything you might need to know or arrange, whether before, during or after your stay. If we’re not in the office, we’ll gladly take your call even if we’re out enjoying the biking, hiking or skiing for ourselves…
