A fine and comfortable property with a long balcony looking down on to a garden full of roses and hibiscus and a productive smallholding, all accessible. The two sisters who manage/own it are charming: friendly, but non-intrusive, and always available to help and advise. We fell in love with them. We and our friends have 30 years of self-catering in the UK and Europe behind us and this was the best equipped; scissors, salad spinner, electric kettle, teapot? Yes! And plenty of crockery, glassware, utensils etc. We look for new places, but we would return here. Nice village, small store, a good bar/restaurant and a train station. And only an hour from Trieste airport.
Local town, Cividale, lovely with all facilities.
North-east Italy is off the tourist trail but is lovely with great views of the Dolomites and the Julian Alps. 2000 years of history reflected in towns and villages and easy access to them and the Adriatic lagoons.
Not expensive but Brexit will probably change that. ItalyHeaven was a great website for information and links
