House 'Fontana' is licensed to be rented commercially by E.O.T., the Hellenic Organization of Tourism, licence no. 1174K91001131101.

Stay in House 'Fontana' for an authentic taste of the real Greece. The property is located in the heart of the Greek community and close to other properties inhabited by friendly, welcoming people of all ages.

78 sq. metres (including a large, private, dining terrace) and sits on a plot of 116 sq. metres including a small, private, garden.

Suitable for couples, a family of up to 4 people (or 5 if child is sleeping in a cot) or a couple and 2 friends. Please note that we cannot accept bookings for single sex parties unless by prior arrangement. We also regret that we cannot accept a booking if the lead booker is under 25, again unless by prior arrangement. This is a non-smoking house and pets are not permitted.

This single level, detached house has recently been completely refurbished to an extremely high standard by it's current owner. Including:

- marble flooring throughout.

- air conditioning throughout.

- double glazing throughout including integrated mosquito nets.

- luxury bathroom with walk-in rain shower.

- Nespresso coffee machine.

Rental prices quoted also include a full professional clean and full change of bed linen and towels midway through and at the end of each week's stay.

My property manager will meet you at the port or airport, on your arrival, and accompany you to the house to explain how everything works. She also lives in the town and will be available to help should any problems arise during your stay.

House 'Fontana' is located in the main town - Chora - of Naxos, at the base of the 13th century Venetian castle and close to the beautiful 18th century Orthadox cathedral and archaeological museum. Despite it's easy access to all local amenities, this is an extremely quiet house and location.

The 'Paralia' (road in front of the harbour which has many cafes, restaurants, shops, car/scooter rental sites and banks) is within easy walking distance as is the ferry port, public bus stop and the 2,500 year old 'Temple of Apollo'.

There is a stone beach - suitable for swimming - a couple of minutes walk away but the best sandy beaches are either the blue flag beach of St George (in town) or the stunning blue star beaches of Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka on the west side of the island (approximately 15-20 minutes by car, scooter or bus).

In addition to it's beaches, Naxos is wonderful for all outdoor activities including water sports, walking, swimming, cycling (mountain and road), horse riding and tennis. All of these are within easy reach either on foot or by public transport, scooter, car or bicycle.

Spacious house in a great location

This house is spacious, well-equipped, comfortable, and in a perfect location for exploring Naxos. The area is quiet, the patio area is very relaxing, and everything you could need is within a five to ten minute walk. The wifi works very well, and there is a huge bookshelf of books and dvd's. We didn't meet Chris, but Janine, who looks after the property, is as friendly and helpful as you could ask for. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property!

Tranquil Comfort

I just spent a week in this lovely house. It is beautifully appointed, has a well equipped kitchen and fabulous bathroom (a rarity in Greece). The location is perfect; less than 5 minutes walk to the main port action and about 15 min walk to St. George's beach. The owner also provides top notch linens, a hairdryer, international tv stations and a robust library of DVDs and books. It was great to curl up on the couch and watch a movie after a long day of activity. The patio is shaded and has a view of a huge hibiscus tree and, even at the end of August, it was pleasant to have morning coffee there. The owner was prompt with all communication and the property manager was very professional. Both bedrooms are of equal size so it's good for two couples or a family. Naxos is a wonderful island full of variety, and this house is a great place to stay. Book it if you can!

Naxos is a brilliant island. Villa Fontana very comfortable and well set-up in a great location, 5 minutes from town centre. Loved the book and DVD collection and the shady terrace. Chris and Janine very helpful and good to deal with. I would heartily recommend.

Beautiful Island! Wonderful People!

The minute we entered House Fontana it felt like home! Everything was perfect. The house is spacious, clean and well decorated with a home away from home feeling.Each morning we enjoyed the start of our day with breakfast on the the terrace!

Janine, our host was helpful and delightful!!

Many great restaurants one we liked in particular was Flamingo. (the view was amazing!!

We rented a car from Escape Naxos. Nick the owner, is such a nice man. It cost 40 Euros a day and well worth every penny. Nick brought the car in the morning to House Fontana and picked it up that evening.

Would like to thank Chris for sharing his beautiful home with us and who knows next year we may come visit for at least one month. That is our plan!!

Lovely wee house, excellent location

We stayed in the house for 6 nights in July. The location is excellent, less than 10 mins from the port and a few mins into the old town itself.

The house is nicely furnished and ample storage space for our clothes. Janine (housekeeper/ property manager) was very helpful during our stay and supplied us with drinks and fruit on our arrival. There is a covered seating/ eating area outside which is very nice, although we only had breakfast mainly due to the heat. There was no noise at all during the night and we all slept very well!

There are so many restaurants and bars in the old town, we loved Manolis Garden Taverna in the old town, the food is traditional, very reasonably priced and good service.

The town beach is about 20 minute walk through the old town, it is actually a nice shallow beach with plenty of sunbeds. It does get quite crowded. We took the bus to Plaka beach a couple of times, it goes frequently from the port and is only a couple of euro. Plaka is the last stop and is a lovely tranquil beach, cheaper sunbeds than the town beach. There is a supermarket next to the bus stop, handy for drinks; the Plaka Beach Hotel is next door, the pool is lovely. You can use it (as we did) if you have drinks or food.

Chris was an excellent host, he kept in touch prior to our stay and during to see if there were any problems. He ensured Janine met us at the port and took us to the house.

Overall we would stay at House Fontana again, it is lovely with an excellent location. Highly recommended. :)

Brilliant location, very comfortable home and perfect courtyard to spend your afternoons.

From the time we made contact with Chris our experience with House Fontana has been awesome. Location is excellent, close to port and old town and best restaurants and only a 10min walk to the beach. The House is clean and very comfortable, great wine glasses and a delightful cool courtyard where we had a few wines before venturing out to dinner. House is very quiet and cool, which is surprising when you realise you are only a few steps from the hustle and bustle. Our host on the ground Janine was a delight and pointed out the supermarket, only 200m away and great restaurant tips. Naxos is our favourite island with a great combination of beach, cheeses, wines, restaurants and history. Seven days was not enough we will be back again to House Fontana.
