About the property

The Central London Den is a spacious apartment on the 5th Floor with a top floor. The Apartment sleeps up to 4. There is a state of the art 'eat in' kitchen with a dishwasher, induction hob, oven, fridge freezer and underfloor heating. There is also a luxurious bathroom with a shower and a cast iron bath.

In the principal bedroom is a King Size bed. There is a double bed in the living room (which, if required, converts from a sofa).

The apartment is set away from the local quiet street. It overlooks a pedestrianised area which is planted with foliage and trees. The balcony faces South West and receives sun all day long making the Apartment warm and very light, with light into all parts of the apartment.

The 5th floor is accessed via an external glass security door (and keypad) and it's own front door. A modern lift (as well as stairs) take you to the 5th floor. The stylish entrance hall is tiled and the whole apartment wheelchair accessible. The hallway leads to the right. A beautifully finished luxury bathroom with a cast iron bath and shower, as well as programmable underfloor heating is on the left. The hallway further leads to a state of the art eat in kitchen, featuring Gaggenau appliances, a variety of lighting options, a marble mosaic floor with underfloor heating and a huge glass and steel wall and door section to ensure it is light and bright.

Through the steel and glass screen and door is the living area which features Two linen armchairs, beautiful solid oak and ash furniture pieces, a gorgeous Ercol chest of drawers, wall lights, floor lights as well as ceiling down lights. There is a solid oak futon sofa which transforms from a sofa to a very comfortable double bed, if required. The top-level balcony is accessed through a large glass sliding door and features two armchairs and a small table - perfect for a summer's evening drink.

The large double bedroom has two large windows with beautiful white shuttered blinds. There is a King Size solid oak bed with a very comfortable sprung mattress. There is a corner chair along with cosy lighting, egyptian cotton sheets, sheepskins and large cupboards for storage and hanging clothes.

The Apartment is stunning, spacious and filled with light. It is a wonderful place in which to spend time and perfect for a memorable trip to London. The Central London Den is a beautiful home from home with understated luxury to provide unforgettable holiday memories.

The Apartment is practically next to Westminster Abbey, Big ben and Parliament and only a few moments walk to Buckingham Palace, St James's Park, with Horse Guards, Whitehall, 10 Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Covent Garden ad the West End (Theatreland) within very easy walking distance. It is also very convenient for Sloane Square, Kings Road and Chelsea.

Great location, clean and quiet

The apartment was clean and bright and walking distance from several attractions. There is a convenience market on the same block for picking up snacks and drinks, etc. It is also near a couple of tube stations. Torsten, the property manager, was extremely responsive and helpful. It was a comfortable and quiet place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. If you are looking for a location where you are surround by bars and night life, this would not be for you. It was big enough for my husband, my 2 kids and me and and would highly recommend it.

A real gem of a London apartment for your vacation!

This apartment was for perfect for our family vacation. We loved the location, which was walking distance from Westminster and a Tube ride away from everything else. It's cozy, clean and modern. It was the perfect size for one couple and one or two children. Another lovely feature: the white, modern bathroom. Kitchen stocked with what you need to cook. And if you don't want to the apartment is walking distance from Starbucks and Pret a Manger! The best part is Torsten the owner. He is so so helpful before and during your stay. Responsive to any question or need. Book it today! So much of a better value than the extraordinarily expensive London hotels :)

Central London Gem

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lovely apartment. The location is ideal for visiting all of the sites London has to offer. Just a short walk to two underground stations. Neighborhood pubs and shops abound. What a convenience to have a grocery in the same building on the ground floor! The apartment was clean, modern and comfortable with a well laid out floor plan. Light and bright! Torsten was a responsive and helpful host.

Nice apartment but mixed experience

This apartment is attractive and comfortable but our stay was less than ideal.

The location is very good in that it's quite close to Westminster Abbey, Westminster Palace, the Thames and Buckingham Palace and surrounding attractions. But it's in a sort of soulless building on a block of similarly charmless modern buildings. In the late evening the street is dead and a bit spooky. Lots of winos hanging about smoking and drinking during the daytime and early evening near the (happily secured) building entrance.

The apartment is well-equipped and comfortable, though the bed is set up with a thick duvet that was clearly not appropriate to a warm London season. (If a top sheet had been provided that would not have been an issue, and ultimately we located a thinner spread in the closet and just used it, but it's a mystery to me why the English rarely include a top sheet in bed linens. Or washcloths in their bathrooms.) The owner responded quickly and responsibly to a very aggravating smoke alarm malfunction, dispatching someone within the hour to disengage it after our joint efforts to reset it were not successful. No doubt the alarm situation and a malfunctioning tub/shower control that meant that you could only shower, not have a bath, have been remedied and won't pose a problem for future renters.

Bottom line: comfortable place and convenient to major attractions but the unattractiveness of the building and street were significant enough drawbacks for us that we probably wouldn't return. If you just need a good spot to sleep and plan to be out and about all day and into the evening, this place will be fine.

Owner's Response: David, I'm sorry you felt the need to leave a review such as this. The bath/shower has now been repaired - it's a shame you didn't let me know on your first night. The 'nest' alarm is being replaced by the manufacturer. For clarification our apartment is located in central Westminster and round the corner from New Scotland Yard. It is very safe and a great quiet area. (This is highlighted in many other reviews and I am surprised that you chose to stay if not suitable). I won't go into how inconsiderate and rude you both were. You also left the apartment like a tip. Almost all of our guests have been amazing and I'm sorry you were disappointed but be assured I would not let you return and I would caution other apartment owners about you staying. In cases such as these a degree of reasonableness is needed from both parties - particularly when attempting to resolve any issue. I felt this was entirely lacking on your part and in addition through your review you've insulted me, my home, Westminster and London. Sad.

Clean apartment in a great location

We loved our stay in this apartment. It was well appointed and comfortable. It was close to the river and many attractions. We enjoyed walking to Covent Garden and Soho for the many restaurants and overall fun vibe. We always felt safe walking at night. This was our first trip to London and we loved it. It is a beautiful city.

Car: not necessary

The Central London Den is located in a perfect London location - it could not be better and only a few moments from all of Central London's sights. The Tate Museum by the Thames is 2 minutes away as is Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Parliament Square, 10 Downing Street, Whitehall and the London Eye. Buckingham Palace and St James's Park are a stone's throw as is Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, the West End, Leicester Square, Regent Street and Covent Garden.

The closest stations are St James's Underground (for Heathrow airport), Westminster Underground Stations (for London City airport) as well as Victoria (Underground and Main line rail - for Gatwick airport)

The River Thames is at the end of the road with river boat services to Hampton Court and Greenwich from Westminster, Embankment and Tate pier.

A beautiful bright light filled Luxury Apartment in the centre of London ensuring a truly memorable stay.
