Totally perfect

  • 5 of 5

An exceptionally beautiful, tasteful, and well-equipped house in an outstanding setting. Ten of us had a terrific time there. Better than advertised, really, which is rarely the case. The house is set in a beautiful valley that's perfect for bike rides and walks, and we were lucky enough to be there in fruit season, able to pick our own plums, blackberries, grapes, and figs on the property. The bedrooms are spacious and well-decorated, the kitchen and dining room and outside table are perfect for large dinners, and the pool is great. As other reviewers have noted, there is a pesky squirrel/mouse situation in/on the roof, which makes the back bedroom upstairs a little scrabble-y. But it's not a big deal. The area is quiet, beautiful, and not at all tourist-y. We all hope to be back.

  • 5 of 5

Just Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at En Sayrac for 2 weeks in June 2014. We were thrilled with the beautiful house in such lovely surroundings.

We holidayed as an 'extended' family from age 9 months to 79 years. The house and gardens provided all the space, comfort and relaxation that we sought. The weather was wonderful which enabled us to spend hours of enjoyment in and around the fabulous pool.

We made good use of the delightful terrace for all our meals and some delicious barbecues.

The location is ideal with good walks, quiet lanes for cycling and easy access to a range of interesting places eg Carcassonne, Albi.

Highly recommended!

Our second, and best ever visit

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to En Sayrac. Because our first holiday there was so good. And to our surprise, this was even better! All the charm, beauty and comfort was there as before – but this time with wifi, table tennis, bikes, + + +.

As a group that included one young child, one teenager, a couple of adults, and three of the more 'elderly persuasion' any property has a lot to live up to. And once again the house, pool, grounds and environment did not fail to deliver.

Would happily and highly recommend En Sayrac to anyone reading, and who'd like to visit this wonderful area of France (make sure you visit Albi and Revel on market day!)

I'm sure this summers' trip will not be the last to the property. In fact it's so good I'm not sure I want to be telling anyone about it – would love it to be my secret French getaway – and always available next time I go to book!

wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

Tom, thank you for renting your beautiful property to us in the last week of July 2013, a week with great summer weather.

we were all deeply impressed by the beauty of the place and its surroundings, by the well maintained house with its spacious, comfortable and well equipped rooms. everything required for a relaxed vacation was available!

the tasteful decoration of the house, showing an atmosphere of “home, away from home” really appealed to us.

we loved living outside, making intensive use of the large pool and the cosy terrace with its large wooden table under shady green trees, good for daily breakfasts and long lasting dinners.

the possibility of making walks, directly from the house and of visiting nice places ( Albi/Toulouse/Lautrec) at a relatively short distance make En Sayrac a very attractive place to stay.

this property gets from us a warm recommendation and is a guarantee for an unforgettable holiday leaving you behind with warm memories…

Tom, thank you also for the nice service you rendered us afterwards by returning the forgotten personal belongings – it’s an additional advantage!

The house is set in a pretty valley of farmland and woods. In summer the garden is usually surrounded by Sun Flowers!. There are no immediate neighbours, the nearest property being approx 500m away.

The area is a charming rural backwater of the Tarn, close to the historic town of Castres with its extraordinary riverside houses and Goya Museum. Also within easy reach is Albi, the beautiful medieval capital of the region with its dramatic Cathedral. Birthplace of Toulouse-Lautrec and home to a museum of his work.

Also within an hour's drive are the historic regional centre of Toulouse, the Disney-esque grandeur of the ancient fortified town of Carcassone, the Canal du Midi, the Black Mountains and many charming small towns and villages that time has simply passed by. This is Cathar country and is dotted with dramatic hill top castles.

Further a field, but well within the scope of a day trip are, The Mediterranean, The Pyrenees, The Tarn Gorges and even The Dordogne.
