Flisk is a traditional single storey cottage, extended and refurbished to a high standard. This comfortable, homely self catering cottage is all on one level. It is adjoining to a second holiday cottage (Eppie) but not internally connected. The cottages have separate entrances. They can be rented alone or together. The cottage has a garden area (patio and grass) with parking space for two cars. There is a shed for storing bikes and a BBQ for guests' use. Inside three bedrooms provide sleeping for 6 people, in 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. An open plan kitchen dining and sitting area opens out onto the garden. There are 2 bathrooms, one has a bath with shower over and the other is a shower room (ensuite). A utility room provides laundry facilities.

About Mrs Melissa Hope

My name is Melissa Hope. The Hope family has farmed on Powgavie for over 100 years. The two Powgavie cottages, Eppie and Flisk, formerly farm workers' homes, were extended and refurbished in 2008. Since completing the cottages we have enjoyed welcoming guests from around the world and sharing our beautiful part of Scotland.

Mrs Melissa Hope purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Mrs Melissa Hope chose Perth

This property is a comfortable home away from home. A perfect peaceful retreat to relax and also a great central base with good transport links for exploring the surrounding area.

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful little stone cottage. Perfect for 4 friends in Scotland for a golf trip. Stayed 3 nights and felt very comfortable. The house had everything we needed for our short stay. Great location and access to local golf courses and restaurants and services in Dundee. The owners were warm, friendly, and accommodating. Thanks!

A lovely home from home in a peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

The property is extremely well equipped and has a homely feel. Decor and furnishings are of a high standard and the beds are comfy. Great showers in both the family bathroom and the en suite. Nice outside space to sit out for breakfast or a BBQ (gas bbq in the shed) with stunning views. The cottage is situated in a remote location and is very quiet, having said that, there is the Inchture hotel close by where they serve good reasonably price food and there is also a Spar for essentials, as the closest supermarket is in Dundee which is about 25 minutes drive away. The only thing that was missing for us was, it would have been nice to have a takeaway close by. But if we were in the area again we would certainly stay at Flisk Cottage.

Spacious, Comfortable & Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The cottage Flisk is a wonderful place for a quiet holiday and its central location makes it easy to explore the Highlands, lochs, Edinburgh, and many other interesting and beautiful places throughout Scotland! Not having traveled to Scotland before, we especially appreciated the "A to Z" list of what to do in the area. We were traveling with our two teenage sons, and there was more than enough space for all of us. The living room and kitchen area are open and bright with lots of windows, which make it a nice place to relax. The Hope family is welcoming, available and ready to help if need be. The cottage is located on an exceptionally quiet road, and it's surrounded by farm fields so it is nice for evening walks or simply watching the birds. A car is necessary. There are smaller markets closer, but there is a huge market in Dundee only about 15 minutes away. For us, the cottage provided the best of both worlds... quiet comfort yet conveniently close to everything travelers might need. We hope to return!
