The townhouse consists of three levels with ground floor which opening up to a small garden through a conservatory. It is situated in Grünerløkka – Oslo’s «hipster» area dominated by numerious cafés, bars, restaurants, art galleries and music venues. Yet the townhouse is a secluded, quiet spot with its own small garden in the middle of all this. Easily reached from Oslo Central Train Station and Bus Terminal with frequent services to Oslo airport Gardermoen, Oslo Rygge Airport and Torp Airport Sandefjord. Suitable for a couple, a couple with kids or larger parties consisting of 6 persons or more: (maximum sleeping capacity is 10 persons in winter – 12 in summer, when 2 kids can sleep in bunk beds in the conservatory. The whole house over 3 floors – that is the townhouse. Kitchen and dining room, 4 bedrooms plus large sofabed in the lounge – and 2 extra bunk beds in the conservatory – which also have a small kitchen. A little garden to relax – this is really unique quiet oasis in the middle of the pulsating arts district of Oslo.

Wonderful accommodations for my large family group.
We just returned from our trip to Oslo with a group of 9 people. This was my first rental through VRBO type of service. I was a little nervous, but I had no reason to be. Morton was prompt in his communication and the transaction went through completely perfect. The accommodations were comfortable and fit all 9 of us which was the biggest challenge for me. The location was perfect and close to public transportation as well as a very charming part of town. Morton met my party there and acquainted them with the local area. We loved our stay here. We did some cooking in the home and found it very easy and comfortable. We would stay here again if the need arises.
This was our first rental through VRBO but what a great experience. Morten helped us with everything. Location was perfect. Truly able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Outside garden area was small but perfect for our group of 7. Would highly recommend this location. Facility is in an older building but very pleasant
Local rules regarding recycling took some getting used to but Morten made it easier. Originally thought we would eat in more but only used the kitchen for one meal and it was perfect. Will definitely stay here in the future when we return
We stayed in this truly charming townhouse for 3 nights. Oslo was the first stop of our 2 weeks Scandinavian vacation. First impressions do matter, as the saying goes, and we were just so impressed with the warm hospitality of Russell, the owner, who was waiting for us at the flat, as he had promised in his email. After some pleasantries, which was reassuring, he accompanied us to a street, one block away, to show us where we can eat. Immediately, we felt like, as he has written in the description, being in Notting Hill, England, a place my wife loved. We felt that just in this street alone, we can already have a feel of Oslo and find what we needed.
The apartment is perfect of us - 3 couples, each couple comfortably occupying one level each of the 3 storey apartment. The kitchen is strategically located in the middle level, where we gathered for late snacks or breakfast. And there were two full bath rooms, so we had no "waiting time".
It was unfortunate that we came in at the beginning of Autumn, so we were not able to use the garden patio, but it was a beauty in itself.
The apartment is centrally located and, Russell is right, "walk-able" to the "must see" sites of Oslo. We usually followed the path along the river to Karl Johans Gate, the main pedestrian promenade which majestically leads to the Palace. Russell also gave us direction, again walking distance, to our church. Speaking of Russell, I must say that he is the best attraction of Oslo and the main reason other guests should rent his apartment. He is very helpful and, living close to the apartment, he can rush in for immediate assistance, like when we had question with the washing machine - which was a simple operation, really, but we just are used to "instructions for dummies" (being citizens of the great country). When we needed two cabs, Russell came to call for us. If you find other apartments competitive, Russell should tip the balance in favor of this one.
We really had a great time in Oslo. We stayed in a beautiful and comfortable apartment, located in a very trendy area and close to every site any tourist would want to see, and we met a wonderful Oslogutt.

“The apartment is situated on its own ground floor of the building which dates from 1870, situated at Upper and Cross (Øvre gate and Korsgata between music venue «Blå» along the Akerselva river and bespoke restaurant «KAMAI» (japanese) and «Markveien Mat & Vinhus» and «Dr.Kneipp» in a very quiet yet central area at the lower southwest corner of Grünerløkka. You will also find the art gallery and wine bar «Syng» 50 metres away – perfect outdoor area for sunny days by the riverside. From here a variety of shops, supermarket, «Wine Monopoly», cafés and restaurants are only 2 minutes walk away. Make sure you visit the popular «Mathallen» (Food Hall). There are 3 parks close by, and for recreational purposes a pleasant walk along the Akerselva river is recommended. In the weekends there are both market days and music venues at «Blå» (Blue). The New York Times recently included the walk along the river here in its «Top Ten Streets of European Cities» contest.”
Activity and Interests
As Grünerløkka is very central, it is a pulsating area with lots of activities going on. You will find anything you like while shopping or just strolling along here. Emergency hospital (Legevakten) is 650 metres away from the apartment, so you are in safe hands for any eventuality.

“The Botanical Gardens and The Edvard Munch Museum is well within walking distance (to the east), so is the Oslo Town Hall (to the west) with Akershus Castle and fashionable Aker Brygge (where you can even swim). From here small ferries whisk you out to numerous idyllic islands in the fjord and of course to the Bygdøy peninsula with its Kontiki -, Fram-, Viking Ships- and Folk Museums. But apart from these attractions, there is hardly any reason at all to leave Grünerløkka. You’ll find everything here.”
