Very Central London Location

I need to start this review by saying how great it was to work with Manik. We had another flat rented and they backed out on us one week before arriving. Manik responded to my new request very quickly and was really easy to work with. We know that they have more than one flat in the building, so our review is only for the one on the 3rd floor. You can't get much more of a central location. We were a short distance from the Thames, very close to Blackfriar bridge in one direction and not too far from the London Eye. Easy walk with great restaurants right there on the water. It is really right between two very good tube stations. Being this central did pose a few challenges. The bedrooms are on the Stamford side, facing the road. You will get constant road noise 24/7. This was tough on my wife and I, but did not bother my two kids much at all. It really depends on how you react to that kind of sound. I think that many central locations would probably have similar issues, it is London and you are really in a great location for walking around, so there are going to be cars and bikes at all hours.

I am sure that the other reviews must have been for one of the other units. The pictures do represent the size of the place, it is quite large for the price. Two bedrooms and two full baths are hard to find in this area. The problem we had was that it was really in need of an overhaul. The paint was marred, the bathrooms had dirty/mold in the showers (not excessive, but still there). The floor boards throughout the kitchen were warped from water damage and had been screwed down on multiple corners to hold them down. The lock/handle on the second bath was hanging somewhat loose and had to be worked to close. The sheets and blanket for the roll away bed were badly stained. The main sheets for the real beds were just fine. The couch is really worn and in need of replacement. The small coffee table legs were held on with duck tape. I called Manik after we arrived and he was willing to get us into another spot, but we had already unpacked and were only in town for 3 days. We decided to stay anyway and not try and move to another unit in case the other ones were not a big improvement. Just needed a place to sleep.

Back to the positive, the Wifi works great and Manik is really responsive. We had his cell phone and he always picked up or got back to us quickly. This unit just needs some work.

Conveniently located and practical

This apartment ticked most of the boxes for our family group of 4 adults and 3 children. Elevator, free WiFi, two bathrooms, washing machine with dryer plus quite reasonably priced for London. The Waterloo tube station is a convenient walk, plus a couple of others we didn't use, as well as bus lines. If you like to walk in London, then you can easily walk to the Southbank centre, cross the pedestrian bridge to Charing Cross and be in Trafalgar Square or the West End within about twenty minutes.

There are about three supermarkets at Waterloo, plus pubs very close by and a Pret a Manger next door.

On the down side, although we fitted in, it really was a bit too cosy to sleep seven, since it is a two bedroom apartment, but as it is listed a sleeping six, we had no complaints about that. The main negative was that the supply of plates, cups and cutlery was very skimpy. It is not uncommon to need two bowls for a meal, yet only six were supplied and the supply of cutlery was also minimal, also no salad bowl or servers. We fed kids separately and washed in between.

It would also have been good is the bedrooms were a little quieter at night, but on the whole we were happy and the manager responded to our calls about a small problem and on the last day left a box of sweets for the kids for Christmas.
