This quiet detached holiday property is a spacious traditional villa situated in one of the original residential "parques" of Praia da Luz and within 200m of the popular blue flag beach. It is a comfortable holiday home that offers all the requirements for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a delightful situation.

The house is surrounded by a large walled garden full of wonderful colour and scents. Around Easter the citrus trees are full of fruit and blossom, the lemons are available to be picked for most of the year and in the autumn there are even pomegranates if they're not too high up! The lawns, big enough for a game of frisbee, benefit from natural shade from numerous mature trees and surround a large heated swimming pool of approx 11 x 5m (1.5m - 2.4m deep) - perfect for lots of laps, energetic play or a quiet float! The pool can be heated, and has a cover to retain the heat at night. Please be aware that it is deep and is not fenced. Six sun loungers, cushions, occasional tables and umbrellas/umbrella stands are provided.

The accommodation is all on the ground floor and is equipped with air conditioning/heating in the sitting room and bedrooms. The front door leads into an impressive double height entrance hall from which all rooms are accessed. The combined sitting and dining rooms, which are also double height, are divided by a chimney breast (with open fire) and lead out onto a covered patio providing a poolside dining area and to the covered BBQ.

The comfortable sitting room has seating for eight, TV, DVD, Wii (with a few games) and CD/Radio. The dining room has a large wooden table with seating for six - which can be extended to seat eight, a built in marble topped serving area and a hatch to the kitchen.

The kitchen is modern and functional. There is a gas hob with electric oven, a fridge freezer, micro wave, coffee machine and dishwasher. An external door leads to the rear of the house.

Two broad shallow steps in the hall lead down to the three bedrooms all of which have built in wardrobes.

Bedroom 1 is very large, light and spacious and has a door leading out to the pool. The bed is a super-king but can be made up as two large singles. There is an en-suite shower room.

Bedroom 2 is also large and has two single beds with room for a third put-up bed (or cot), if required. There is an external door to a shared covered patio area at the rear of the house.

Bedroom 3 has two single beds and a small sink unit. The external double doors lead out to the covered patio shared with bedroom 2. Beds 2 and 3 share a light and attractive bathroom with a bath and a separate large shower.

There is a washing machine for your exclusive use and clothes lines at the rear of the house. An iron and ironing board are available in a small room off the main hall.

For security, the garden has a lockable pedestrian gate, and access from the covered car port is also through a locked door, although the door can be opened from the inside without the use of a key. The carport will take two small cars, but there is also additional parking in the cul-de-sac garage area.

Ceu Rosado is registered as a Portuguese Estabelecimento de Alojamento Local and have a tourist license (AL-13831).

Why Tiina Hill chose Lagos region

My family moved from England to this part of Luz in 1963 when there was nothing here but a small fishing village, and although none of us live here permanently any more we have never left and we still love it. Since we up-sized to this property in 1979, four generations of our family - and lots of friends - have enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere and peaceful gardens at any and all times of the year whether in the fury of a wind-lashed winter storm, the almond blossom cool of a scented Portuguese spring or listening to the cicadas under a blazing summer sun. It's unbeatable down time!

What makes this villa unique

The south facing property was built in the 1960's and retains much of its original airy charm. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and full of light - very welcome on hot summer days. The private gardens are always full of flowers and there are generous lawns, citrus fruit and shade trees and the beach, cafes and ice cream kiosk are only minutes away - not that you'd notice it. What's not to like!

Our maid, Isobel, comes in three mornings a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 to lunchtime, to clean and change linen.

Beautiful Villa

Lovely Villa the photos do not do it justice. Being going to Villas in the Algarve for 8 years now and this one is kept immaculate, very private, gorgeous gardens and very close to the beach/shops/restaurants. All communication excellent both before you go and when you get there. Cant think of a single negative thing to say. Little piece of heaven in Luz :-)

Overall the property suited my needs

Very well situated, just 3 minutes from the beach and restaurants. The nearest supermarket was about 5 minutes walk away, the others about 10 minutes or so. I was also impressed by the well maintained grounds. The only adverse comment I have is that some of my party found some of the single beds very uncomfortable. Also there was no cot as requested for the two year old, and apart from that everything was ok. I would recommend this property for a group of friends or family.

Gorgeous Villa

Ceu Rosada is a lovely, spacious, well equipped Villa, one minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Luz. Everything you need for a family holiday, we were there in February and would recommend paying the extra for heating. Would love to return in warmer weather to get the full benefit of the pool x

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely villa and private, peaceful gardens for sunbathing & eating al fresco. Great location near to the beach and easy access to surrounding coastal walks. The owner and services were very helpful. A return visit highly likely!

Simply fabulous

We are currently on the last day of our holiday and all feeling pretty sad to leave. The villa is wonderful , everything we could have wanted and more. We came for sun and got it every day. Our three teenage boys (17,15,14) have taken full advantage of the pool which is a fantastic size. Luz itself was quiet which appealed to us , everyone is so friendly. A truly special holiday. Thank you
