Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a very nice stay in this cottage that is located in a very quiet, inspiring and staggering area. We came late at night to this perfectly clean and beautiful house and where happy to find that the beds where nicely made ready with clean fresh sheets so we could crawl strait in. The house is equipped with everything you need, dishwasher, washing machine, drier, very comfortable beds and nicely furnished. There is a big patio around the house so we could always find shelter from the wind. The area Snafellsnes is amazing. We never got tired to just watch the mountains, the lava formations and colors, the spectacular cliffs along the shore and the Glazier. The communication´s with the owner was very friendly and helpful during our planning. We give this house and this area our best recommendations and will surely be back for more. Thank you!!!

Cozy cottage tucked in a perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I stayed in Jakob's cottage for a few days as we were going to be eloping on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We absolutely loved our time there and Jakob was very helpful in preparing us for our stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location can't be beat, as it sits within walking distance to the wonderful Primus Kaffi and the Hellnar church. We would highly recommend staying here!

A lovely property in a peaceful and picturesque setting.

  • 5 of 5

This is a very comfortable and well cared for property for a family stay. It was spotless on arrival and offered a good location from which to explore on foot or by car. The cottage is well laid out and very quiet.

Wonderful cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cottage for 4 nights in the beginning of May. The cottage was in a great location for us to explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula. When we saw everyone scurrying around the peninsula to see it all in one day we were very happy to go back to this cozy place. The cottage itself was very nice in every way. Everything was neat and clean and even though the weather was cold and windy we were very comfortable in our cozy cottage.

Fantastic base for exploring West Iceland

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay. We found the cottage warm and welcoming, especially after a day exploring the stunning outdoor sites of Iceland. The walk to Arnastapi was lovely as was the local cafe. The cottage had everything you would need and was beautifully furnished. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, directly over the cottage!! Stunning! We will definately be back!! Thanks!!

A get away from it all gem. Comfortable, Warm with spectacular views.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 5 nights in Hellnar. The house was very comfortable and warm with everything you need. Communication with owner was excellent and all instructions received were clear. There is no longer a visitor centre in Hellnar though. It has moved to another place. We saw the Northern Lights on two clear evenings even though the forecast was minimum (0), there was a good display for over an hour. The area is quiet and peaceful and the scenery is truly beautiful. The walk to Anastapi is well worth doing.

Cosy cottage perfectly placed for an Aurora bonanza!

  • 5 of 5

We had a few problems finding the cottage as it was pitch black when we arrived but we asked at the nearby hotel and realised we had just passed it! The cottage is very warm and cosy....I feel the cold very badly but I hardly even needed my hot water bottles at night, and it was -8 outside!

The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful and a perfect spot to watch the Northern Lights...we were lucky enough to see them from the outside of the cottage every night we stayed and they danced above our heads halfway back to the airport too! If peace, seclusion and phenomenal natural beauty is what you are looking for, then this is the place for you! I only wish we could have stayed longer.
