This excellent villa is situated in the very much sought after residential area of Monte Lemos, close to the glorious beach of Praia da Luz with its stunning promenade. Luz village still retains some of its traditional charm with cobbled streets, shops, bars and restaurants and offers something for all the family.

This extremely beautiful property is set in a large private plot which is not overlooked. It has a large pool area and ample terracing and decking for sunbathing and outdoor dining. The garden has been landscaped with mature palm trees, hibiscus, bougainvillea, and grasses and the ocean views are superb. There is a pool house which has books and a ping pong table, and to the side of this is a small pond.

The villa itself has been furnished to an extremely high standard and offers a more than just a comfortable holiday home with all the modern conveniences you would expect to find. It is painted in fresh colours giving it a colonial feel.

There are 4 bedrooms which are all en-suite and all have large fitted wardrobes . Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and have patio doors out to the pool or the landscapes gardens. The 4th Master bedroom is on the first floor and has a dressing room and a Patio terrace with Ocean view and a Jacuzzi. There is Air con in the upstairs master bedroom as well as one of the downstairs double bedrooms, however, in the summer the house benefits from a gentle afternoon Atlantic breeze so A/C has never been required.

The Lounge is classical and homely with a feature wood burning fireplace, Plasma TV, WIFI, and patio doors which lead out to the decked terraces and pool. The dining room has an extendable wood table to seat 6-8 guests comfortably. The modern "farmhouse" kitchen is fully fitted with granite worktops, a central Island, and all new equipment. Off the kitchen is a large utility area.

The villa has electric gates, a drive and a carport for secure parking.

PLEASE NOTE, In order to maximize bookings, we request that in the month of June, bookings run from Saturday to Saturday for a minimum of 7 nights.

This house is truly luxurious and would make an ideal holiday retreat due to its peaceful location, colonial feel and thoughtful presentation. Yet it is just 1km from Praia da Luz Centre.

For the keen golfers, the courses of Boavista and Espiche are just 5 minutes by car. The town of Lagos is just a 10 min drive away and offers a beautiful modern marina, markets, restaurants and many within easy reach as well as water parks and a local zoo.

A relaxing piece of paradise

We had a fantastic stay here. Sarah took care of arranging our rental car and airport transfer which made our stay here extremely convenient. It's a great location - quiet, relaxing and easy to get around (you will need a car). Accommodation is great and the view from the upper deck is spectacular. We wish we didn't have to leave.

Nice but needed a good clean!

Casa Cassandra is a beautiful villa and it's in a great location - a 20 minute stroll to the supermarkets and town. Unfortunately the villa wasn't presented very well when we arrived which meant that our holiday got off to a bad start. The garden was in a real state with old drinks bottles, deflated footballs and other debris littered around the place. The lovely pond had been left to almost dry out and weeds were growing up through the decking. In one area the decking had rotted right through meaning splintered wood was sticking up around the pool area. Splinters were a daily problem so make sure you bring your flip flops! Inside many lightbulbs weren't working, the sofas were badly stained and the kitchen not well stocked. The information book was a real mess and included out of date instructions for the TV making it impossible to work out. The whole place felt very unloved. The management company managed to rectify most of our complaints but these issues spoilt the beginning of our holiday. Plus we were made to feel we were over-reacting. Such a shame as the villa is really great and has a fantastic layout for large groups.

Owner's Response: Casa Cassandra Unfortunately, we cannot always manage all our clients’ individual expectations to their satisfaction and this is the case here. We believe that the key to this review is the admission that “the management company managed to rectify most of our complaints”. To quickly summarise, the gardener had been the day prior to the clients’ arrival and had carried out his weekly maintenance; the garden is purposely low key and low maintenance for the climate here in the Algarve and the owners’ preference for a more “natural” look and feel. The drink’s bottle the clients had found had been thrown over the wall and the deflated footballs etc were actually in the pool room and are sometimes left by guests for the incoming guests’ use. The decking had been treated with teak oil before the beginning of the season and the hole in the deck, caused by some more virile previous guests, was replaced during this guest’s visit. The TV system was explained to guests on check-in and twice more after this. Casa Cassandra is very popular with back-to-back bookings leaving very little time between same-day departures and arrivals to carry out completely thorough property checks but on the rare occasions when an issue has been missed, and is raised by a client, we endeavour to react efficiently and professionally. It should be noted however that we are sometimes reliant on third parties and living in the Algarve means that nothing is done in a rush – frustrating for those trying to work but great for those on holiday and surely an added bonus! In this day and age everyone feels the need to express their opinion publicly leaving any company providing a service vulnerable, but we believe that Casa Cassandra is worth the visit and offers far more than any clients’ attempt at detraction

Wonderful holiday, wonderful villa

We have just got back from holiday. We have been to Luz several times and really like the place. We have tried different villas each time and this is easily the best villa we have stayed in.

The pool is a very decent size and the garden it is in enjoys fantastic views over Luz and the ocean. The cooling breeze makes it extra enjoyable.

The villa itself is well designed. The living areas are open plan with more than enough space for 8 people. In fact it's very spacious. The kitchen is well stocked (we cooked six nights out of fourteen) and there is a useful BBQ outside.

The lounge area is also big enough to sit everyone in the party.

The bedrooms all come with en suite, and are on the larger size of anything we've stayed in, particularly bedrooms 1 and 2 which are very generous!

There is also the added benefits of the hot tub which we all used, and the table tennis table which provided a welcome distraction for the kids.

The property manager is also very proactive and was really helpful to is, even being kind enough to help us find the manufacturer of the voil curtains in the villa we were keen to get hold of four our own house!!

Overall the experience was 5 star. We will be rebooking in the future.

Photos do not lie. Perfect villa, a home from home with a hot tub bonus

Without the assistance of Joao we may not have found the villa as easily, but once there it was certainly worth it.

What you see on the webpage photos is what you get...a fantastic villa. All the comforts of home and beautifully light and airy.

Enjoyed a restful week around the pool and my husband enjoyed caring for the wildlife in the pond.
