Charming 140 m2 typical house with unbeatable views, walking distance to Playa (beach) Santa Catalina. The house has two levels with a large terrace and a nice garden, both with the best views on the valley: to the sea and “El Pescante”, the emblematic natural pool and El Peñón. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sitting room, and kitchen. This property is ideal to rest and disconnect from the daily bustle, with the only vision of nature. It is ideal for having outdoor furniture for meals al fresco as there is a barbacue. The proximity to the sea and two of the best restaurants of the valley (just 250 metres away) is also a great advantage. A car is not necessary to stay on this house. The back of the House borders a little busy street. On the entrance there is a 12 metres gallery, one of the bathrooms and the 3 large bedrooms. Some steps down and you have a 30 m2 terrace with sun beds. On the ground level you have the kitchen, bathroom and sitting room with a 80 m2 garden with outdoor furniture and barbacue.

Great location for our winter walking holiday

Lovely house and location, we enjoyed our stay very much. Three spacious bedrooms open onto a pleasant wide veranda from where you can see, and hear, the ocean in the nearby shingle bay down the valley, open views up to the surrounding hills and birdsong in the big tree. Typically Spanish house with high wooden ceilings and open plan kitchen/ dining/ living room downstairs. Even in early march, though not always sunny in the north-east side of the island, it was warm enough to eat breakfast outside. A surprisingly easy drive from the ferry terminal, and easy to find with the directions provided. We arrived in the evening and were met by the friendly neighbor (who helps with the house) - as it was dark I appreciated the help with backing an unfamiliar car into the parking place, which is easy enough in the daylight however.

Like most of La Gomera the village is quiet and not at all 'touristy', which we liked - the local Spa is well stocked and provided everything we needed for self catering. (There are restaurants too). We came for a walking holiday, and were not disappointed, enjoying days along the coast from the house with the view over to Teide, or driving to Vallhermoso or over to the north-west for the hills and barrancos. The roads though of course winding are very good.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your detailed review! Yes the house is very comfortable and the wooden ceiling guarantees good temperatures all year round. Hermigua is the kind of place where you can still enjoy the silence, although of course you have restaurants and supermarket on the valley. The whole island is perfect for walking, many of our clients come to do some hiking, but some of them just want to relax and enjoy long meals on the terrace looking to the sea!. A gem of a house

This house was everything we had hoped for and more and is as depicted and described online. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown around by Carmen, as promised. With all the personal touches in and around the house we felt well instantly. We found a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine in the kitchen - a lovely and much appreciated welcoming gift. The house was spotlessly clean and really has everything one could possibly need and want. The washing machine is a real blessing - makes things so much easier.

There is a road running directly past the back of the house but since it is not very busy it didn't bother us. By the second night we didn't even register any of the cars coming past. Another lovely feature is that the bedroom doors lead out onto the big balcony which faces the banana plantations and the ocean. The view from here is magnificent. Numerous hours were also spent on the spacious, shady terrace playing games and reading -what a pleasure. If you want to sunbathe, there are deck chairs laid out on the sun roof, from which one also has a wonderful view of the ocean.

Shopping facilities for daily needs are within easy walking distance, as is the beach. There are also some lovely restaurants in the area, recommended to us by the administrator as well as the owner. We were therefore able to enjoy several fantastic meals out! The house is also a lovely base from which to explore this wonderful and diverse island. We felt very well looked after during our stay, knowing that if we needed anything at all we only needed to make a single phone call. To us, this house and its surroundings are a gem we are very glad to have found. We will return and hope to spend many more pleasurable times here!

This is a really picturesque and quiet village, but a good place to explore the island. For us is very important that our clients find a inmaculate cleaned house, a place to stay in and enjoy, not just a place to sleep. Yes, sitting on the galery is the "must experience" on La Casita Gomera. We expect you soon there!

Because it is the most comfortable house in Gomera. A country house has to be rural, but also comfortable and perfectly well maintained. This house has the advantage of being close to the sea, which guarantees good temperatures all year round, but also has views to the sea and very close to restaurants. It has a large terrace with views and barbacue. The house is near a road, whith very Little trafic
