Overview

About the property

Sleeps up to 8 in style, rare find of large mature garden in medieval village.

A beautiful house combing the best of old materials, modern comforts & many of the architectural features typical of The Provence.

La Petite Sieste (small afternoon snooze) is located in a generous 1/2 acre, south-facing, mature & peaceful garden on a no through road in the heart of the charming medieval village of La Bruguiere.

The garden includes mature Parasol Pines, Mulberry & Oak trees & benefits from the sun all day. There are various alfresco seating & dining areas including a wisteria, rose & honey suckle covered pergola that houses an L shaped sofa, huge rustic oak dining table & outside fireplace for keeping warm once the sun goes down.

For keeping cool there is a large heated swimming pool with stone fountain.

The house has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles & a twin), plus a permanent Dorset bell tent in the garden with luxurious inflatable mattress’s for those who would prefer the romance of a night amongst the stars, or whose children would prefer an adventure without straying too far.

The master bedroom has a private first floor terrace with its own stone staircase, leading straight into the pool.

La Petite Sieste is filled with light from the many south facing French doors & has the best of both worlds by combining character features (lime plaster, stone walls & stair cases, beams, terracotta floors & roofs, real fires etc), with modern bathrooms, kitchens, electrics, plumbing, heating & insulation.

As can be seen from the photographs the house is furnished with antiques many purchased from the nearby & world famous L’isle sur la Sorgue.

About Steve Hill

We fell in Love with Uzes & now divide our time between La Petite Sieste & The Lord Poulett Arms, our busy Inn, located on the borders of Somerset, Dorset & Devon.

Steve Hill purchased this house in 2014

Why Steve Hill chose Uzes - Pont du Gard

Uzes, Uzes, Uzes !!!

We fell in love at first sight & I'm sure you will as well (if you haven't already).

For us it comes pretty close to perfect :-

A small medieval town that has kept its soul.

Enough quality tourists to ensure a great choice of restaurants, but not so many that they become the towns raison d'être.

The best market in the world EVER !!!

Located at the centre of probably the most beautiful & culturally rich cluster of cities in Europe.

Day trip distance to the Cote D'Azur

The weather is just about perfect.

Great combination of culture & countryside.

La Bruguiere is a sleepy medieval village, with a beautiful central green bordered by the Chateau, the Marie & Boulodrome.

The House is a rare find in the area as it is in the centre of a beautiful village but still has a large garden.

What makes this house unique

Large garden in the centre of a medical village.

The character of the old with the comforts & conveniences of the new.
