As with most private homes in the UK, it is not air-conditioned, as there are only a few days in some summers when it would be pleasant to have. If you are lucky enough to be in London for those few days then you may wish to use the portable electric fans provided. In the British climate you may find the two resident umbrellas of more practical use.
In 2018 May 1st - Sept 30th & Dec 10 - Jan 3rd £220/night all inclusive.
Rest of the year £195/night

Medical doctor. I have retired to a village on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, so this is our home when in London. We enjoy making it available to guests for part of the year; (limited by local regulations to no more than 90 days per year). I endeavour to come into town to greet guests or, if that is not possible I can leave the keys for you in a key safe.
Dr Darrall Higson purchased this apartment in 1999
I am sure you will tell people how lucky you were to find such an oasis of tranquillity within walking distance of the bustling heart of London.
I do not use agencies but manage the property myself. This is how we have achieved 40x5-star reviews over this and another website ( by January 2018).
In the safe, lively area of the South Bank yet tucked away in a small, peaceful development. After a tiring day of sight seeing relax on your own spacious garden terrace.
As the South Bank London website says:
"The South Bank is home to an astoundingly diverse selection of events and attractions that take place in and around the iconic theatres, galleries and museums that line the riverside of the city centre. The area is buzzing with things to see and do all year round; from music, film, dance and theatre to exhibitions, debates and festivals, including many free and family oriented events.
It isn’t hard to see why the South Bank is considered by so many to be the cultural heart of the capital."
Dr. Higson has created a truly welcoming, comfortable, and quiet oasis in the midst of the glorious mayhem that is London. From our first communication, Dr. Higson demonstrated the highest level of care for our comfort and convenience. My husband and I were traveling to London to meet our daughter, who had been studying abroad in Paris, for a Christmas through New Year's getaway. Not only was everything exactly as advertised, Dr. Higson set up a Christmas tree, and left a lovely bottle of wine to add to our joy. And joy there was. The flat is quite and comfortable, and is perfectly situated -- easy walks to Waterloo and Southwark tube stations, or you can walk across any of several bridges in minutes to be in the heart of the city. There are food markets close by, and many restaurants, plus the National Theatre, the Tate Modern museum, The Old and Young Vic theatres, and more. Plus, Dr. Higson has labelled EVERYTHING and left a comprehensive guide to the apartment so you can relax and enjoy a real home-away-from-home. Probably our favorite rental ever!
We had a lovely stay in this well located apartment. Two couples shared and we both had our own bathroom and entrance. Our host was very generous with information about the area. He also left us well supplied with all the items you need for a short stay. The apartment was surrounded by offices, so it was quiet night and day. Having a garden in inner London was a bonus.
We stayed here for a week and we had a wonderful time.
The location is amazing. You are close to many of the main London attractions without being right in the center of all the touristy areas. If you are a walker you can easily walk to many of the sites or you can hop on the bus or tube, both easily accessible from this flat. In addition there are several great restaurants, pubs, and grocery stores within a few minute walk from the front door. The evening life on Southbank is vibrant and great for just a stroll or to stop and have a drink and bite to eat after a day out in London.
The flat felt just like home. It had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. It looks just like the pictures. The flat was very quiet and we rarely saw anyone else in the building. We felt safe and secure while there. The only word of caution is that it has a flight of fairly steep stairs. If you have a person in your party who has a problem with stairs this may be an issue. Having said that, I traveled with my nearly 70 year old mother and another who had two hips replaced and they did just fine.
The property owner was fantastic. He was very responsive to any and all of our questions and made us feel so welcome. When we go back to London I know where we are staying!
Well-maintained apartment, equipped with all the necessary utensils, well cleaned. Surely to recommend to others
We appreciated very much the well equiped apartment, it' location near the Thames and near by many services.
We also enjoyed the warm welcome from the owner.
It is ideal for teens upstairs and old folks down. Separate bath and even an elevator
Behind the riverside Oxo Tower on the South Bank in a perfect location for exploring most of the major attractions of Central London on foot or by convenient local bus and tube.
On Google Maps you can explore the area around Broadwall and see how near it is to public transport.
The Transport for London website provides information about local transport.
If coming from Heathrow Airport take Piccadilly Line to Hammersmith then cross the platform to the District Line and get off at Blackfriars. From there it is an easy 10 minute walk across the bridge and along the riverside to 25 Broadwall.
From Gatwick Airport take one of the frequent trains to Bedford (NOT Victoria trains) and get off at Blackfriars.
