Tastefully Restored Provencal Farmhouse - Apartment 'Les lavandes'

Mas de Bazarde is a farmhouse built at the end of the 18 Century. Originally set in open countryside, the house is now part of the village of Orgon, which, with its walled fortification and its church sanctuary retains a unique rural atmosphere. The Mas has been refurbished to the highest standards and offers 4, superb self-catering apartments with a choice of one, two or three bedrooms. Local craftsmen and materials have been used in refurbishing the apartments which has ensured that the Provencal style has been retained whilst providing modern facilities.

Rock Climbing: ORGON is the ideal location for the rock climber who wants to climb all year round. A short walk through the village opens up to a large valley with somewhere in the region of 300 graded climbs, from 3 to 8C plus. The atmosphere is idyllic as the valley runs East-West and allows the climber the option during winter or summer to be in the sun or the shade.

Within 15/45 minutes drive are other excellent climbing areas such as Les Baux, St Remy-de-Provence, Mouries, Mausane, Fontvielles, Auraille and Buoux.

Cycling: Just a quick look through the Visitors Book at Mas de Bazarde will reveal the names of many British cyclists who have come here over the last 10 years to enjoy the riding, whether training, touring or just simply pottering around the quiet leafy lanes. And they keep coming back because this is a cycling paradise.

Whatever your expectations of a cycling holiday, Provence can be guaranteed to provide just what you are looking for, be it the rolling countryside, challenging hills, sleepy villages, flat plains or car-free country lanes and you don`t have to stray far from Orgon to enjoy it.

Walking : Spring and Autumn are delightful times to walk in most Countries, however, the clarity of light and the gentle warmth of the sun makes Provence and ideal location for a walking holiday.

We enjoy walking ourselves, and over the years we have collected many routes in the surrounding countryside, which we will be happy to share with our visitors if they so wish. We can offer advice and help where necessary and offer local maps.

Les Lavandes

3 of us stayed in the apartment 'les lavandes' which can sleep up to 6 people, so we had plenty of space!

The location of this property is ideal for those who are hiring a car, and want to explore the area, as it is near to the A7 that runs from Marseille up to Lyon and beyond. You can also reach Avignon to the north and Arles in the south in under an hour taking the 'non-motorway' route.

The apartment itself was fantastic - everything you need is provided, and for anything that isn't, the E Leclerc supermarket in Cavaillion is a 10 minute drive away! The apartment was very well maintained, and everything spotlessly clean on arrival. The centre of Orgon is a 5 minute walk across the road.

The gardens & swimming pool are a great asset as well, and it felt very private within the grounds. José and his family were very welcoming, and are there on site if you do have any problems.

I would recommend this property to everyone, because it does has something for all - enclosed gardens for children to play in safely, a great venue for relaxing in after a hard day's sightseeing, and generally a great atmosphere!

We did a fair bit of driving around, visiting Avignon, Arles, villages of the Luberon, Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer (a lovely town on the coast in the Camargue, nice beaches). During July & August, there is an International Piano Festival held in the area; the 'Cathedrale d'Images' near to Les Baux de Provence is well worth a visit too.

Superbe accueil

Gite très agréable avec une ambiance très familiale grâce au couple de propietaires très sympathiques.

Là proximité de l'autoroute ne génère aucune gêne et malgré le week-end de pentecôte, nous n'avons jamais entendu de bruits de moteurs. Environnement et calme assurés. Nous reviendrons certainement. Merci à la famille Antonymes pour son accueil superbe.

gite très agréable et propriétaires très conviviaux et accueil remarquable

Nous avions choisi ce gite à l'occasion d'un voyage avec fête familiale à proximité.

Contrairement à notre crainte initiale, la proximité de l'autoroute A7 n'a pas été gênante du tout. Nous n'avons entendu aucun bruit à cause de la configuration des lieux.

De plus, nous nous sommes sentis comme en famille grâce à la gentillesse de nos hôtes toujours à l'écoute de nos éventuels besoins.

Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce gite d'un rapport qualité prix imbattable.

Orgon is situated 25Km South of Avignon,on the edge of The Alpilles, a chain of mountains running East to West through Provence. From Orgon the view is through the Durance Valley ,Alpilles and Luberon.

Golf: GOLF - Provence not only offers an ideal climate but also the opportunity to play championship golf courses without the crowds and queueing associated with many European locations.

Pont Royal Golf Course. 6307 mtrs par 72 Championship course, designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened by him in September 1992. The course is set amongst the valleys and pine forests typical of Provence, and is host to international tournaments but also enables amateur golfers to play on an exciting and varied course. (15 minutes drive). Golf Club de Servanes is located in an unforgettable setting at the foot of the Alpilles next to Les Baux de Provence. The course of 6100 mtrs par 72 is sheltered from The Mistral, edged with olive groves, cypress and cascading lakes, and must be one of France`s finest 18 hole courses. (25 minutes drive) Provence Golf Club is located at the foot of The Luberon and close to the beautiful town of L`Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, has an 18 hole, 6610 mtrs par 72 course. The perfectly maintained greens and fairways, heavy with the spicy perfumes of thyme and lavender, provide the ideal setting for the golfer who appreciates idyllic surroundings.(20 minutes drive)
