This luxurious modern fifth floor penthouse apartment with two double size bedrooms offers simply stunning 180 degree coastal views both westwards over the Atlantic Ocean to Lundy Island and also up the long wide Blue Flag surfing beach of Westward Ho! is ideal for Holidays & Short Breaks. It has high speed BROADBAND WiFi through the apartment. We have had the apartment completely redecorated in January 2017 to ensure that we keep the 5 star ratings our guests give the apartment.

Horizon View was built around 2012 as a landmark waterside development and is one of the more modern contemporary buildings in the increasingly popular and sought after coastal village of Westward Ho!

There are stairs and lifts to all floors and stylish communal areas with an entry phone system.

Inside, the apartment has oak flooring and a clean neutral decor with attractive contemporary fixtures and fittings throughout. The open plan living room/kitchen has floor to ceiling sliding glass doors out to the full width balcony and superb views. The attractive kitchen includes granite work tops and a full range of integrated appliances. The master bedroom suite also has floor to ceiling sliding doors to the balcony, a dressing area with built in wardrobes and a ensuite bathroom. There is a further twin bedroom also with a built wardrobe a lovely separate shower room and various storage cupboards including a useful utility cupboard. This apartment has an allocated parking space in the underground car park.

On your doorstep you will find a selection of restaurants, bars, shops and activities for all ages and interests. To name a few: - Sunbathing and Sand Castle Building. - Kite flying, Kite surfing, Kayaking and Surfing (inc lessons and equipment hire). - Cycle Hire. - Golfing (Westward Ho! is home to the oldest golf course in the country – Royal North Devon GC) - Boat trips. About John and Barbara

We are both retired and live in North East London near Epping Forest. Barbara was an Infant school Head Teacher and John was a Divisional Manager. At least once a year, since retiring, we have done a House Exchange with folks in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. The trips we have enjoyed most have always been in modern homes near the sea so buying somewhere with a real sea view back here in the UK was always our dream.

We rented an apartment at Horizon View, twice in 2014...we liked it so much with its amazing ‘wow’ factor sea view we asked the owners if they wanted to sell! That wasn’t to be but as soon as number 60 came up for sale we snapped it up. Westward Ho! is such a great little seaside town...the kind of place that reminds you of your own visits to the seaside as a child. It has an amazing beach, coastal path, restaurants and cafes and a full range of small shops for all your holiday requirements.

What makes this apartment unique

The extra high ceilings and full height windows in the lounge and master bedroom make the views from this apartment fabulous. It’s furnished in a modern style 'with a twist of seaside’ that we think visitors will enjoy. It’s extremely comfortable and well appointed and sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the sunset will give you those extra special holiday memories.

Oak wood strip flooring to living room, kitchen and hall, gas central heating and hot water. Washer dryer, Egyptian cotton linen and luxury towels included. Secure underground car park with lifts to all floors, security gates and building front door with video entry system to let in guests.

Amazing New Years stay again

This was our second stay, just as amazing as the first. 5* in every way from the magnificent views to the attention to detail and sheer cleanliness of the apartment throughout. We love the pier house ! Friendly, lovely atmosphere and short walk from the apartment. We will definitely be back, thanks again Sharon, julien, jaden and Cody xxxx

Los Angeles without a flight!

I travel frequently to LA and stay in a hotel with a view of the ocean. When I sent pictures to friends of the view from Penthouse 60, they thought I was in LA. The view was simply mesmerising. Watch the surfers in the day and the stars at night; study the tide and the waves lapping beneath and you will leave feeling refreshed.

I am a regular traveller for work and pleasure and have been fortunate enough to stay mainly in 5 star hotels; this apartment was really of no less a standard. The attention to detail and cleanliness was superb.

Finally, the owners were a delight to deal with. Extremely courteous, efficient, accessible and helpful even though I booked at the last minute.

Just Perfect

We loved the Penthouse from the moment we walked through the door. It is clean, bright and airy with the best views over Westward Ho! beach. So lovely to be able to relax on the balcony with a cuppa and enjoy the views. (yes, even at the end of October). We didn't close the blinds once,because it is so lovely to wake up to the changing sky and with the sea just below you - bliss!

The Penthouse is well equipped with all you need for a good self-catering stay. it was nice to be welcomed by Andy (from the management company) and to know that he, or a member of his team, was available if we had any problems/queries.

The building is secure with access to all entrance via a key fob. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from all the facilities that Westward Ho! has to offer.

We hope to come back one day soon.

Stunning coastal penthouse apartment with breathtaking views over Westward Ho!

Our second visit to Penthouse 60 was fantastic! It will not be our last.

The apartment is clean, fresh, airy and has a modern feel with high quality features and the most stunning views over Westward Ho beach. The entire building is very secure allowing a very relaxed feel within the apartment and vehicle parking. A delightful management team who offer a warm welcome on arrival but remain on hand if required throughout your stay, a bottle of fizz was a lovely touch and offered great refreshment after our 5 hour journey.....thank you. With some lovely coastal walks it offers the perfect mid point between Appledore and Abbotsham.

If you are considering enjoying a break in Westward Ho then Penthouse 60 is the apartment to stay.

This apartment certainly has the wow factor.

Excellent in everyway.... Location, ... Less than a minutes walk from supermarket, bakers, butchers, deli, chemist, cafes, bars restaurants, bus stop, and beach. The apartment is of an excellent high standard with panoramic views of the bay. This apartment must have one of the best balcony views in the south west. We look forward to returning.

Westward Ho! is such a great little seaside town...the kind of place that reminds you of your own visits to the seaside as a child. It has an amazing beach, coastal path, restaurants and cafes and a full range of small shops for all your holiday requirements.

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 52 Miles Nearest Barpub : Morans at 0.25 Miles Nearest Golf : Royal North Devon Golf Club at 1 Miles Nearest Train : Barnstaple at 8.5 Miles Nearest Motorway : A39 2 Miles. M5- Junction 27 at 40 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Morans Restaurant & Bar at 0.25 Miles Nearest Beach : Westward Ho! at 0.25 Miles Car: recommended

Whilst its hard to tear yourself away from the view at the apartment there is much to do in and around Westward Ho! When the tide is out its a delight to walk along the two miles of sandy beach and when the tide is in the Southwest coastal path passes right in front of our building. Enjoy a coffee in the village two minutes away (we recommend the Rock Pool cafe) or sit on the Green with a locally made ice cream. If you want to eat in, there are three local supermarkets and if you want to eat out locally theres quite a choice. We would highly recommend Cafe Italia Pizzeria and Morans Thai Restaurant. Along the prom is the Pier House with a large deck to watch the sunset. Its best to book in advance at all three. Around/near the Green theres a variety of shops and pubs as well as a few small amusement arcades.

A car ride away are the pretty villages of Appledore, Instow and Croyde, all great places to explore with plenty of places to eat. The many attractions in the area include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Clovelly, Exmoor Zoo and many more.

Barnstaple is the oldest borough in the country and is the commercial and agricultural centre of North Devon. A must visit for anyone seeking serious retail therapy. Saxons first settled in Barnstaple (Barum) over 1000 years ago; In 930 AD it was a Saxon stronghold serving as a market for the surrounding countryside.

Today it has a wonderful mixture of Victorian, Medieval and Georgian architecture and is proud to be a multiple winner of Britain in Bloom. Visit the Barnstaple Heritage Centre, sited in a fine Grade 1 listed building to learn more about the town's 1000 year history.

Notes:

  • Our Property Manager provides a full meet and greet service. Once a booking has been made we will supply you with his contact details and you will need to contact him 48 hours prior to the first day of your holiday with an approximate arrival time. On the day of your arrival you will need to phone him when you are about 20 minutes away to ensure he (or one of his team) is here to greet you. They will show you around the apartment explaining everything. If you would like to know the best places to eat or visit just ask. They will hand over two sets of keys and tell you the arrangement for when you leave. If you have any problems at all during your stay just give him a ring as he is your go to man. We do hope you have an enjoyable stay in our apartment.
