A superb, contemporary apartment in the centre of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed with excellent amenities and the stunning beaches of the Northumberland coast on the doorstep.
The period building, a former City Electrical factory, has been renovated to a very high specification by the renowned eco-construction company Maden Eco. The contemporary design skillfully maintains the integrity of the building with period details including the superb domed windows and original beams retained as quirky features.
Inside the apartment is exceptionally light and bright and furnished in soft, muted tones in keeping with the fresh, contemporary restoration of the building and the seaside location. Vibrant fabrics and the owners’ delightful collection of local artwork bring splashes of colour and sit alongside quirky objets d’art and renovated period furniture sourced from the good selection of antique and restored furniture shops in the town.
The apartment is on the third floor with views across the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. There is a lift up to the apartment in addition to stairs and the accommodation is all one floor and therefore suitable for less mobile guests. Please contact us for further information relating to access.
Lovely apartment just right for a relaxing break, everything you need on your doorstep, lots of restaurants near by. Apartment was very comfortable and maintained with lovely fresh flowers and welcome tray.
Apartment was clean and well maintained and had lots of lovely homely touches. Owner provided cake, tea and milk on arrival and beautiful fresh flowers which were much appreciated after such a long drive. Apartment was within the walls and provided free parking and was minutes from all amenities. I would definitely recommend to my friends.
Derek from Berwick Tourist office gave an excellent walking tour of Berwick and we went into the gunpowder store, the ice room and into the gun placements (places usually locked) as well as a very informative talk. We also went to Lindisfarne but couldn't go to Farne Islands to see the puffins as boats weren't operating due to mist and rain.
Transport links excellent, we went to Edinburgh and Newcastle by train and to Bamburgh Castle. We also used local buses which were frequent. We really needed another week to see the many other interesting places near by. It was our first visit to the north east and we would like to return.
Nice little touches - biscuits tea coffe milk on arrival also as it was easter little chocolate bunnies on pillows. Very clean comfortable apartment and central to all
