A charming, period cottage set in peaceful rural surroundings with excellent walking and cycling from the doorsteep. Heritage Cottage is well placed for exploring the Scottish Borders and the stunning Northumberland coast.
Recently renovated from top to toe, the accommodation is presented in a delightful contemporary cottage style with stone floors, granite topped kitchen surfaces, muted paint colours set alongside cosy tweeds and pretty florals.
Inside, the light, bright open-plan living space is the convivial heart of the house. On warm days, French doors let the fresh Borders air in and there is a wood burner and central heating for cosy winter evenings.
Outside the pretty, gravelled garden offers super uninterrupted views across open farmland to the Cheviot Hills beyond.
The accommodation is all on on ground floor level.

Sitting room with wood burning stove (logs provided), Digital TV, DVD player, selection of books and games and French doors to garden.
Kitchen with electric oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with ice compartment, microwave.
Bedroom one with 5’ bed and fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom two with twin 3’ beds.
Family bathroom with bath with shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC.
Garden and grounds
Heritage Cottage has its own small, gravelled garden with patio, barbecue and furniture for outside dining. The garden looks out onto open fields. The garden is fully-enclosed for the safety of dogs and children. Limited storage
for bicycles and other outdoor kit is available on request.
There is parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage.
There is good mobile coverage on most networks.
The beds are made up with good quality bed linen, feather duvets and pillows. A hair dryer is supplied in the master bedroom. Bath sheets and hand towels are provided for all guests. Guest hand soaps are provided. Logs are provided.
Babies and children
A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The garden is fully-enclosed for children to play.
Heritage Cottage can be taken on a purely self-catered basis, or a cook is available throughout guest’s stay, for breakfasts or dinners only or to provide one-off celebratory meals for a special occasion. A homemade meal delivery is available which is popular for guest’s first night and wine delivery is available in conjunction with renowned wine merchants Corney & Barrow.
One well-behaved dog is welcome at Heritage Cottage. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms and must be kept off the furniture.
Heritage Cottage sits to the rear of the owner’s house and the two properties share a drive. The main accommodation of the cottage faces away from the owner’s property and there are open fields to three sides of the cottage. The owners are on hand to help guests to get the best from their stay but equally are respectful of guests’ privacy.
Smoking is strictly prohibited at Heritage Cottage.

Heritage cottage was well equiped with comfortable furnishings. The frontage of the cottage gets the sun all day so the living area is bright and pleasant to sit in. A patio area is to the side of the cottage and looks across open fields. All windows and doors look out to surrounding well maintained garden area. The owners live close by but the cottage provides complete privacy with its own large parking area. The area around the cottage is open farm land and in a peaceful setting with a nearby track for walking dogs. A community run shop is a 10 min walk away providing essential goods. Local attractions are a short drive away.
Activity and Interests
There is excellent walking and cycling from the cottage and a riding stables nearby. With easy access to the River Tweed, Heritage Cottage is an ideal base for fishing parties. Golfers are also well provided for with 16 courses within a 30 mile radius, ranging from challenging PGA Championship courses, to picturesque links and parkland courses to suit all standards.
The cottage is ideally-positioned for exploring the Borders and North Northumberland including the Northumberland National Park and the stunning coastline which is only a 30 minute drive from the cottage. Edinburgh is an easy day trip; just over an hour by car or 45 minutes on the train from nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Local amenities are provided by the historic towns of Kelso and Berwick-upon-Tweed. For guests who enjoy eating out, Heritage Cottage is just a few miles from several good restaurants including The Collingwood Arms at Cornhill-on-Tweed and the Allanton Inn.
