Named after the rocky plateau where tidal waves break dramatically over the shoreline, The Tumblers is a superbly located beach home just a stone’s throw from a glorious curve of sweeping sands with views towards the Farne Islands, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

As well as the enviable location on this stunning stretch of heritage coast, this warm and welcoming home will prove a huge draw for families and friends looking to take advantage of beach life, sightseeing and outdoor pursuits.

Inside, the property has timeless appeal with a fresh Scandinavian style perfect for laid-back coastal living. In the sitting room, the beamed ceiling, stripped wood floor and original art deco style doors and windows add character and charm, while whitewashed walls are the perfect backdrop for furnishings and artworks evocative of its seaside location.

A large corner sofa provides ample space for relaxation while a cosy woodburner adds extra warmth during those out-of-season days. The sitting room opens into a front facing sun room/dining room for lazy afternoons or evening dining, and there is a well equipped kitchen including an original 60's vintage Formica table - ideal for children breakfasting or a quick lunch.

The three bedrooms (one en-suite) are comfortably appointed with high quality linens and throws featuring two double rooms and one twin. There is a fully enclosed lawned garden for children and dogs, with private parking for up to three vehicles. A barbecue is supplied for lovely summer evenings - a perfect spot to watch the stunning sunset along with friends and a good glass of wine!

Accommodation

The property sits on one floor comprising:-

Side access door into a small utlility with hanging space and storage for outdoor gear and kit.

Kitchen – with electric oven and ceramic hob, integrated fridge/freezer, ¾ size dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker (pod type). Small retro kitchen table with three stools.

Sitting room – large corner sofa seating 5/6 comfortably and single armchair set around a woodburning stove. Small TV and DVD player, DAB radio along with a selection of books and games for wet weather days. Original art deco style crittal windows lead into the sun room/dining room.

Sun room/dining room – with dining table and seating for six, overlooking the front garden with sea views to the left.

Bedroom 1 - master bedroom with 5’ king-size bed with single wardrobe. En-suite with shower unit, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

Bedroom 2 – small double bedroom with 3’ twin beds and single wardrobe.

Bedroom 3 – double bedroom with 5’ king-size bed, double wardrobe, two side tables. Please note that the height of the bed sits 15” from floor to the mattress top which may affect guests with restricted mobility.

Family Bathroom - with bath and shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

Heating

Central heating throughout the property.

Woodburning stove in the sitting room - initial basket of logs supplied.

Wifi and mobile coverage

Unlimited fibre broadband is available offering excellent speeds. Mobile signal can be variable depending on the network.

Guest amenities

A hairdryer is supplied in the master bedroom. Quality bed linen, bath sheets and hand towels are provided for guests along with hand soaps in the bathrooms.

Welcome pack

A small welcome pack is provided.

Babies and children

A travel cot and high chair (combo type with booster chair) are available on request.

Dogs

Two well behaved dogs are welcome. There is an outside tap and dog owners are asked to ensure that dogs are clean before access into the property. Thereafter, dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms or on the furniture. A fee of £15 per dog will apply to cover additional cleaning charges.

Storage

Please note that the double garage is not available as part of the let but guests are welcome to use the basketball hoop which is positioned above the garage door.

Garden and grounds

The garden is fully enclosed for the safety of children and dogs. A charcoal barbecue is provided.

Parking

There is a private driveway to the side of the property with parking for up to three cars.

The property can be taken on a purely self-catered basis, or part or fully catered options are available including a homemade meal and wine delivery service. Please contact Crabtree & Crabtree for details.

Guest privacy

The adjacent property is a hotel and guests should be aware that there is parking provision for hotel guests directly opposite the front garden. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Lovely stay at The Tumblers

Very much enjoyed our stay at The Tumblers. Lovely warm bungalow, plenty of hot water. Very impressed with the comfortable beds, crisp white linen and fluffy towels. The bungalow had everything we needed for our holiday, A very well equipped house. So very convenient for the town. The view across to the harbour from the conservatory very nice. The only blip was having to look out onto the side of the Beach House hotel opposite - very quiet at this time of the year but I would imagine not so quiet in summer. I did do a recce in September and there were lots more cars and the smell of cooking at the hotel. Perhaps a tall hedge along half of the existing fence might help and make the front garden more private without losing the seaview. Despite that this has been one of the best holiday rentals I have stayed in and would definitely recommend.
