About this property

Villa surrounded by green woods, with a wonderful view on the coast. FREE WIFI

Villa la Sirena is a large and comfortable house on the Versilia's hills, with a fantastic view on the coast, from Livorno to La Spezia, which embraces the whole Massaciuccoli lake. In the clear days it is even possible to see till Corsica and Elba island.
Villa la Sirena is a typical holiday house, surrounded by a pine and chestnut wood. It has a private garden of about 500 m2, where kids and animals can calmly play in security. The wood and the garden make this place particularity calm, and there are no neighbours to disturb.
The house has two floors with two wide terraces facing the sea. The ground floor has a large kitchen, the dining room, a corner living room and a small storeroom. Two steps lead to the first bedroom and to the bathroom. The upper floor has a wide and clear living room, with very large windows facing the sea and the lake. The room has a warming chimney and a bed sofa. From the living room, a small staircase and a wooden gallery bring to the two other bedrooms with a baby bed.
The kitchen is very wide and well equipped. In the dining room, a large table can keep till 8/10 people. In the upper floor living room is particularly large, with armchairs and big sofas.
The furniture is simple but particularly comfortable, with some old pieces of furniture, pictures and hunting scenes on the walls. The house has also a shell library with illustrated books over Tuscany and others artistic and tourist Italian towns and places. The outside garden, just next to the house, has a wood-oven where roasted meats, breads and pizzas can be easily baked. In the pine wood you can find also an old gazebo where you can read, play cards and even enjoy a candle light dinner.
From Villa la Serena you can walk in the woods reaching the small villages of Fibbialla and Gualdo, where you can find a restaurant which serves also pizzas. From Villa la Sirena you can see the Massaciuccoli lake, which largely inspired the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. During the Summer, in Torre del Lago Puccini you can enjoy a famous Opera Festival with many Puccini's unforgettable operas, like Turandot, Boheme, Tosca, etc. In the surroundings there is Pieve a Elici (2,8 km) with the splendid Romanesque parish church of San Pantaleone. Here, in the summer months are held very good chamber music concerts. Not far (6 km) you find Massarosa, a large village with all kind of shops and a supermarket. Camaiore (12 km) is an old small town, famous for its typical gastronomic specialities. On the coast, there is Viareggio (12 km) with its beaches, cinemas and nice shops all along the beautiful and long promenade. Southern from Viareggio, you can reach the free and wild beaches in the Natural Park of San Rossore and Migliarino, far only 20 minutes by car. Northern, after only few kilometers, you can find others Versilia's famous places like Forte dei Marmi (24 km) and Pietrasanta (17 km). Pietrasanta, known as 'the small Athens', has a large number of foreign artists' and sculptors' ateliers. Here you can enjoy of many typical restaurants, and art exhibitions above all during the summer.

Beautiful house - great views
Lovely cosy house with fantastic views down to the sea. Quite a tricky road to negotiate to get there but it was very quiet! Everything you could need in the kitchen. Lots of bedding and towels and the added bonus of a library of books, cds and dvds. Daniele was very helpful in suggesting places to visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wonderfully Authentic Villa
We chose this villa as we were looking for an authentic stay near a Tuscan beach resort, While still being able to visit the tourist locations such as Lucca, Pisa and others before moving on to Florence for 4 days to end our holiday. The views during the day and in the evening were fantastic as the propriety is high up in the hills. The family enjoyed their stay, thank you Daniele and Claudia.

A truly lovely stay
We very much enjoyed our stay in this charming property set in the hills. The stunning views were a pleasure to enjoy and we also enjoyed many local woodland walks with our dog (who was welcome in the property). A car is absolutely essential here - but as with previous reviewers, the train system is good in Italy, so traveling to major tourist sites from Viareggio is a very good idea (slightly confusing parking though!). This very much feels like a family home, it has a genuine homely feel to it and with its wonderful garden (with lots of places to play hide and seek or to play with a dog) it was a perfect location for our holiday. It is very comfortable, and we very much enjoyed having a fire on the colder evenings (Easter vacation). On warmer days, sitting out on the terrace (especially the upper floor terrace) made for a very memorable pre-dinner drink! The owners, Daniele and Claudia, made us feel very welcome, with fresh flowers, Easter decorations and a welcome basket of local produce. They quickly answered all emails prior to arrival, took time to show us everything at the property and were at genuine pains to ensure everything was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed many local meals (including a spectacular meal in Camaiore - an easy 10 minute drive away.) We thoroughly recommend this excellent property - the location and the owners make it a top quality place to stay.

Incredible views!
The incredible views from this property will keep you gazing for hours from the balconies. We choose the house as it looked comfortable and there were comfortable sofas to sit and relax on, often an oversight on many properties. The house has real charm and as we were early in the season we were grateful for the central heating and the log fireplace which kept us cosy. On better days we soaked up the sun on the sunbeds in the cute garden. In summer there are some lovely spot to enjoy meas in the shaded garden. Danielle and Claudia took immense care in making the property welcoming and answered all our questions. Our location allowed us easy day trips to Lucca (not to be missed), Cinqe Terre, Pisa, and the coastline. We took a train from Viareggio station to Florence, thus avoiding traffic and parking chaos. Altogether it was a great spot for us.

What makes this property unique

The best thing of the Villa is the gorgeous view on the coast and the lake. From the terraces, you can enjoy magnificent sunsets, maybe drinking a glass of good Tuscan wine. In autumn or at the beginning of the year, you can enjoy the chimney watching at the panorama and relaxing, maybe with one of the many books at your disposal. For your children you can find a large basket of toys, games and books, all for them. Cats and dogs are welcome and they will be safe in our large enclosed garden. The Villa has a Free WIFI connection.
