Stunning, spacious converted Georgian Coach House - sleeps 6

This beautifully converted, detached coach house is perfectly situated midway between historic Norwich and the stunning north norfolk coast. Next to the 14th century church and the pretty village green, the Coach House is a short stroll from the family friendly village pub and is set in its own tranquil, walled south facing garden. There is plenty of parking.

Quietly located, the Coach House offers spacious and luxurious accommodation and is ideal for families. Large enough to provide granny and grandpa with their own space, the house has enough room to keep everyone happy.

This warm and sunny house comprises 3 large double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large eat-in kitchen, comfortable sitting room, separate games room with football table and downstairs cloakroom. All of the downstairs rooms open out onto the sunny south/west facing garden with its pretty lawn, garden furniture and barbecue.

In more detail the house, which is fully centrally heated, offers:

On the ground floor -

Large well equipped kitchen with french doors leading directly onto the garden and spacious eating area. Hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and cd player.

Spacious sitting room with ample seating for 6, large inglenook fireplace with wood burning fire (logs provided year round), large flat screen TV, dvd player and selection of family dvd’s and board games/books. Large door opens onto garden.

Entertainment room with family sized football table, comfy beanbags and second TV. French doors open onto garden.

Downstairs cloakroom and cupboard space for buckets, spades, windbreaks, wellies etc.

Family bathroom with roll top bath and shower over, heated towel rail.

Church bedroom with double bed (4’6”) ideal for granny and grandpa if travelling with extended family.

Master bedroom with king size bed (5’) which can be converted to 2 twin beds on request. TV and hair dryer provided. En suite shower room with heated towel rail.

Barn bedroom - accessed either via the Master or via 2nd staircase from entertainment room - with king size bed (5’) which can be converted to 2 twin beds on request. En suite bathroom with heated towel rail.

High grade, cotton bedlinen and towels are provided.

Throughout the Coach House there is a mix of traditional charm with all the modern luxuries necessary for easy, family living. There are exposed beams throughout combined with high ceiling heights and a sense of space and calm. The house has full oil central heating and is warm and sunny being south/west facing. It is secluded and quiet.

Child Friendly - Travel cot, high chair and stair gate are all available.

Location -

The Coach House is perfectly located between historic Norwich with its renowned shopping and cultural sites and the stunning North Norfolk coast. Close by there are the National Trust properties at Blickling and Felbrigg with their open air concerts and stunning rhododendron and azalea displays. The Gergian gem towns of Holt and Burnham Market are close by with their antique shops and boutiques.

Perfectly situated for family days out - why not visit the seals at Blakeney, the Dinosaur Park at Lenwade or the children’s adventure park Bewilderwood. A miniature railway links Aylsham and Wroxham, giving perfect access to a family day out on the Broads. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust Reserves at Hickling, Ranworth and Cley Marshes are within easy reach. The beach at Holkham always feels deserted and if you are lucky you may see the Household Cavalry horses there during the summer while the horses are on their holidays - perfect!

Because we like our guests to feel at home the minute they arrive, we always provide a hamper which contains, among other things,

A home-made, freshly baked cake, bread, milk, a bottle of wine, orange juice, tea and coffee, crisps and fruit.

Please note

As from 1st October we will be promoting Friday or Monday as our changeover day. Until then, we are flexible on the start date for your holiday apart from the summer high season when there is a minimum of 7 nights’ starting and ending on a Saturday. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

The Coach House is non smoking and accepts a maximum of 6 guests plus 1 baby. Pets are not allowed - sorry.

We also accept guests for a min of 3 nights during non-peak periods. Security deposits are 25% of total rental rate, with the final 75% being paid 55 days before arrival. A fully-refundable deposit of £200 is also required with the security deposit and returned within 14 days if there is no damage to the accommodation.

Why Serena Woolliams chose Norwich

When we first saw the Coach House it was totally derelict with trees growing through the roof and we were under strict instructions not to go inside as it was so unsafe! But we fell in love with it because it is in such a peaceful, unspoilt location and we could see it would be so beautiful when it was restored.

We imported an entire barn from Holland to replace the beams as every part of the building had to be renewed. Now we have a beautiful, sunny property with all the modern luxuries anyone could want but with all the charm of the original 18th century building.

What makes this house unique

The Coach House is so spacious and beautifully finished, yet it retains all the character of the original building. We have retained the original tudor windows where possible and have installed triple glazed windows and doors to keep the building snug and warm.

The Coach House combines modern luxury living with old world charm.

Tastefully decorated, spacious accommodation in a peaceful location

We stayed for a week during half term and had a most pleasant stay. The accommodation was tastefully decorated, clean, and there was abundant hot water (and abundant bathrooms!) Washing up liquid. dishwasher tablets and washing liquid were provided (always a bugbear of mine when they are absent) and a super and very generous hamper was waiting for us on our arrival. The addition of a fresh cake (plus candle for my sons birthday) was a very special touch and it tasted delicious!

We found it a little tricky to negotiate the very tight entrance in our car, and our Sainsburys delivery couldn't find us as there is no sign - but those would be my only quibbles. Otherwise a fantastic week with plenty to do in the area! Many thanks

Beautiful property in a peaceful location

The Coach House is ideally located in a peaceful location but within easy access to the coast and The Broads. The house is well equipped, though I would highly recommend at least one visit to the local pub, The Banningham Crown, which has an extensive menu of high quality meals. The layout of the Coach House suited our extended family holiday and the two largest bedrooms had plenty of room for the travel cot. I would highly recommend the Coach House for families wanting to explore this area of Norfolk.

A lovely stay in Norfolk

The Coach House was beautifully kept, well presented and immaculately clean. We were left a very generous starter pack by the owners, including a homemade cake which was a lovely gesture. Having stayed in many properties over the years, this isn't always the case and when you arrive at a property after a long journey, sometimes the last thing you feel like doing is going on a hunt for a shop to find some milk for a cuppa! So it was much appreciated that the basics (and more!) were all covered. The property is in a very small village which has an excellent pub called The Crown where we ate a couple of evenings. The food was really good and the pub was very popular. The area is full of things to do and places to visit. There are NT properties close by, the coast is only a short drive and Norwich isn't far either so it was an excellent spot for a holiday. I would regard a car as being essential though. All in all, a great place to stay!

Excellent period property in lovely setting. Very helpful owner.

We stayed at "The Coach House" over new year, the property is excellent, exceeding our expectations. It was immaculate when we arrived and very well maintained. The owners were extremely helpful especially when our daughter was taken ill, they went out of their way to help us and ensure we had the best stay possible. We have since rebooked and are looking forward to going again.

Beautiful coach house in great Norfolk location

Booked for a weekend family break, 6 adults. There was a lovely welcome hamper on arrival, the host also came to greet us and to ensure that all was ok. Throughout the booking process the communication was brilliant too.

The property itself is absolutely beautiful, as good as, if not better than the photos! It is located in a small village, which consists of a number of houses, a church and a very nice traditional local pub The Crown' (the food in there looked great, we can vouch for the lovely desserts). The village is surrounded by farmland, which makes it great for walks. The location was ideal for the Norfolk Broads and the coast, the two main reasons for our initial choice. If needed, Norwich is only approximately 12miles away.
