Offering anything from a quiet stroll along the beautiful sea side promenade to a lovely meal on the waters edge. Finding the right spot for a swim is a stone's throw away. And for the more adventurous, water sports facilities are abundant, as well as a night out in Paceville, well known for its endless night clubs, bars, pubs, casino, gaming rooms and restaurants.

Why Ewelina Tabone chose Il-Balluta

Apartment is located just a couple of minutes away from St Julain's seaside promenade, overlooking Balluta Bay and stretching from Spinola Bay all the way to Tigne in Sliema. Balluta Bay is a small beach in St. Julian's, ideal not only for swimming but also for romantic evening walks. With it's tiny sandy beach and light green waters, the sliver of sand in Balluta Bay is mostly visible during low water levels during summer and has a rocky shoreline with plenty of flat rocks to sunbathe on, with clear waters excellent for swimming, water sports and snorkeling. The bay is also a popular diving spot for beginners, since it has a sandy seabed. The beach in Balluta Bay is located just below the popular promenade that stretches from Sliema to St. Julian's and is very popular for brisk walks or light strolls all year round. The beach is just in front of the beautiful neo-gothic Carmelite Parish Church with several shops, restaurants, bars and cafes throughout this lovely promenade.

Had great time. Appartment is perfectly located close to heart of the city yet away from the noise just 3 min walk from the nearest beach and restaurants. Supermarket is just down the hill. Our kids didn't like sea water so pool located just few min away was great bonus. Loved evening walk on the promenade stoping for ice cream an drinks.

Could have been 4* or 2*

The apartment was advertised as being on the 4th floor with a lift. On arrival we were told that lift was not working and it remained so for the whole week. Fortunately this did not cause us a great problem but could have been a real issue if we had been disabled or had very young children.

It was spacious, clean and well-equipped. The apartment administrator / manager, called Michal, greeted us and throughout the holiday could not have been more helpful.

The apartment was advertised as air-conditioned which was important as we know how hot Malta can be. In fact it was only partially air-conditioned – one bedroom and the living area. However, the remote control which operated the living area was faulty. Despite Michal’s best efforts we were left without air-con for 5 of our 7 day stay. Regrettably the weather was abnormally hot (30°-36°C) for the whole week.

Some of the electric switches did not seem to work nor the door intercom, although we did not report them as we were more concerned to have the air-con fixed.

The day before we returned home we arrived at the apartment to find a workman inside – we assumed to mend the air-con. No, he had come to replace the water pump. When we said we hadn’t reported a problem he said that the pump was constantly on and although he could not fix it that day he needed to disconnect it - which would have reduced the shower to a trickle. After a discussion he agreed to leave it until the next day after we had left.

This apartment has the potential of 4*. Without Michal’s efforts I would have rated this 2* as we paid for facilities which were not there. And the owner? – no contact.

You mentioned you had no contact from the owner I was in touch all the time trying to fix things (also with you) so can't understand - no contact eith owner part? - I live in Luxembourg and can only manage things by the phone. very enjoyable holiday

Urlop spędziliśmy rodzinnie, czyli kilka dorosłych osób i małe dziecko. Apartament był idealnie dla nas skrojony. Bardzo przestronny, bardzo dobrze wyposażony, mieliśmy pod ręką wszystko co było nam niezbędne do funkcjonowania przez tydzień. Przyjemnie się spędzało wieczory w przestronnym klimatyzowanym salonie, w pokojach wiatraki powalały spać w gorące październikowe noce, jeden pokój z dodatkową klimatyzacją. Dwie łazienki pozwalały na swobodne korzystanie przy kilku osobach. W pełni wyposażona kuchnia, wręcz idealna na tygodniowy pobyt aby przyrządzić pełny posiłek. Z kuchni widok na morze, więc parzenie porannej kawy to była sama przyjemność. Apartament przygotowany na nasz przyjazd, czyściutki, przyjemny, gustowny. Położenie w cichej i czystej (!)dzielnicy a jednocześnie bardzo blisko do centrum, do przystanku autobusowego oraz dużego dobrze zaopatrzonego sklepu (sieciówka). Do tego dopisała nam pogoda więc wszystko razem zasługuje na 6+ łącznie z opieką przemiłego opiekuna . Właścicielom życzymy wszystkiego dobrego, udanych następnych sezonów.. no i do zobaczenia następnym razem :)

Fantastyczny

Apartament bardzo wygodny, posiada wszystkie udogodnienia żeby spędzić fantastyczne wakacje. Czysto i rodzinnie. Wszyscy czuli się jak u siebie. Świetna lokalizacja w centrum rozrywkowym, ale w miejscu gdzie nie ma hałasu życia nocnego. 2 kroki i już się bawiliśmy. Polecamy bardzo.

Great place, excellent location-HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I highly recommend this holiday apartment!!!

It's very spacious, with lots of amenities (lift, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc.). Also with good localization - close to center, bus stop, shops and many restaurants. Excellent for families with children. You will find everything you need.

Excellent location, spacious, good for kids

We stayed in this 4th floor flat in April 2015 as a family of four with a one year old and a 4 year old. The flat is very spacious and very well equipped (the kitchen had most utensils going!!). We sometimes used the parking space in the garage which was useful as there wasn't always parking on the street. Very quiet and not far from the sea. Easy and pleasant walks to St Julian's and Silema. The walk back is uphill so you work up a sweat but my 4 year old managed it (with only a little moaning) most days. I soon realised that the best bet was buying him an ice cream to eat on the way up and then he hardly noticed.!! Only reasons I haven't given his a 5 is that it would be nice to have a balcony we could sit on of an evening. Customer service was excellent. Very accommodating as we arrived late and very helpful in answering our queries prior to the holiday. The flat was clean but could do with a spring clean under the sofa etc (only found this out when I was searching for stray toys on the last day). This location is great for little ones as there are some excellent parks on the way to silema which are about a 15 minute walk away. We also visited the new aquarium (which the kids loved) and the presidential gardens which has a fab play park also. I would recommend this flat.
