Having undergone a total refurbishment, Dune House now offers 'coastal chic' at its best. Decorated and furnished in a light and bright contemporary Scandi style, with comfort and luxury foremost in mind, the house is the perfect place for families, couples and friends looking for a special retreat. The four bedrooms are on the first floor (master with en suite, king size, twin and single with trundle) - all beds have quality mattresses and high thread count bed linen - along with a house bathroom (fluffy towels provided). Downstairs the superb German designer kitchen, equipped with everything you can possibly need, has a generous dining area with bi-folding doors leading out into the rear garden; the perfect sociable space if you choose to dine in at any time of year. The spacious sitting room has lovely squashy sofas, a log burner to keep you super toasty and a large flat screen TV, with the of option of BT Sport, a DVD player and Sonos sound system, and is a wonderful place to relax, listen to music, chat the night away or catch up with your favourite film.

To the front of the house is a practical gravelled area allowing off-street parking for three cars whilst the rear garden is private and fully enclosed with a lawned area and outside seating for 8 people. A barbeque and charcoal are available.

Perfectly located, with easy access to the beach and many great local eating places, you might not want to venture too far afield but, if you do, you can always just catch the Coasthopper bus that regularly runs through the village all year round, and it will take you to all the other wonderful villages along this beautiful coastline. If you love golf, The Royal West Norfolk Golf Course, an outstanding links course, runs parallel to Brancaster bay and the saltmarsh. This is an area popular with walkers, sailors, cyclists, paddle boarders, kayakers and bird watchers. If you like shopping, trendy Burnham Market is just a few minutes drive away and, for beach lovers, the local one is truly stunning, as are nearby Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea.

We are a family of 5 who have spent many holidays on the north Norfolk coast and continue to love the area, spending as much time as possible by this wonderful coastline.

Dune House gives us and hopefully you our guests an ideal base to explore Norfolk. It's location is perfect for the sandy beaches whilst having a range of activities close by.

Dune House is spacious, light and airy and offers a relaxing 'at-home' feel. The kitchen/diner is very well stocked for those of you who enjoy cooking. The layout of the large kitchen/diner makes it ideal to cook & chat over a drink at the same time,

Best kept (former!) secret are the seals on Brancaster beach - if you turn left behind golf club and keep walking there are usually find several swimming close to the shoreline

Favourite walk from Burnham overy Staithe to Holkham

There are so many wonderful foodie places to eat. Sandringham, Holkham Hall, Blickling hall and Felbrigg Hall are all within easy reach, not forgetting Norfolk Lavender at Heacham.

For birdwatchers, the coastline is renowned for its nature reserves and in our view nowhere in the UK can improve on this.

Chris Smith our dedicated keyholder who lives locally will meet our guests, show them the 'essential' areas of the house & their workings. Should anything be amiss, Chris will be able to help you. He will meet with you again at the end of your stay to ensure you have a smooth departure. Directions to the cottage: From Burnham Market take the Brancaster road to its junction with the A149 coast road at Burnham Deepdale. Turn left and continue through Brancaster Staithe into Brancaster village. Continue past 'Branodunum' and the fish shop and Dune House is a further 200 yards on the right-hand side.

Perfect getaway

Dune House is ideally located for Brancaster beach and the coastal path. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped, it has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard which makes it better than a home from home! Margaret was a pleasure to deal with when corresponding. We will return next summer if one if our visiting friends hasn't snapped it up first.

Lovely house in great location

Our second stay in this lovely house in the centre of Brancaster, well located for fabulous Brancaster beach and the Norfolk coastal path. Dune House is very well equipped and recently refurbished with the modern kitchen rearranged to provide better access to the garden.

The weather was kind and we managed several long walks on the local sandy beaches and across the salt marshes. This house is well located for lots of interesting places and we managed to visit Sandringham, the Walsingham shrines and Scolt Head island for the first time during our stay.

Would definitely recommend to those looking for a convenient comfortable house on the North Norfolk coast.

Brilliant Brancaster Break!

Perfect place to stay with young children. We were luckily the first people to use the brand new kitchen which was great, and all the facilities were spot on - washing machine, dryer, wifi, two great bathrooms, separate loo etc. The beach was a nice walk away or a very short drive and was stunning, we were so lucky to have the most beautiful spring weather with big blue skies everyday. Fab crab hut a short drive away and even better fish shed, perfect Easter holiday!

Perfect for a family holiday!

We stayed at Dune House at the start of September 2016 and had a wonderful time. The house itself was perfect for our needs as a group of 4 adults and 4 pre-school children, and the location is a great base for exploring the north Norfolk coast. We hope to come back one day in the not too distant future!

Great base for family holiday

We had a lovely holiday at Dune House. It is even nicer than it looks in the photos. Immaculately clean and very well equipped - loads of crockery, glasses, cutlery, even children's mugs/plates etc. Lovely big squashy sofas and cushions, enclosed and peaceful garden, comfy beds, super new bathrooms. Dune House suited us very well for our three generations family holiday - it was spacious enough to spend time together but also plenty of room for a bit of peace and quiet when required!

A lovely family accommodation in a great location

We spent a week in this spacious,clean and well presented house. The property is perfectly located to explore this area of Norfolk and it's beautiful beaches!! The owner and her representative were very helpful. We would definitely recommend to family and friends!

The Norfolk coastline is renowned for its wide open vistas and its natural habitat nature reserves with the traditional coastal fishing village of Brancaster being a superb place to explore the exhilarating Norfolk coast. The village and surrounding areas has a wealth of activities to offer

Less than a mile from Dune House is Brancaster's four mile stretch of golden sands. Experience the wide panoramic views and all this coastline has to offer. Of course no visit to the coastline would be complete without a 'seal spotting' boat trip (that runs daily) from Morston to Blakeney. Quite often these beautiful creatures can also be seen swimming close to the shore near the Brancaster Links Golf Club - just 0.5 miles from Dune House. If you are looking for something a little more active, the Brancaster Activity Centre offers a variety of sailing and water sports whilst nearby Deepdale & Morston both offer cycle hire. Immediate village facilities include a children's park and a tennis court.

A little further afield is the Georgian village of Burnham Market which is host to a range of individual boutique shops, cafes and pubs whilst Thornham offers visitors the opportunity to experience beautiful crafts, locally stocked farm shop and delicatessen. The 'grandeur' of Norfolk may be experienced by a visit to Holkham Hall or the Sandringham Estate.

Just 10 miles from Brancaster is the town of Wells-next-the-sea which hosts the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway with the longest narrow gauge steam railway in the world - a great day out for those with young children. The Wells Harbour railway also offers a narrow gauge railway experience between beach & town from mid-March to mid-October.

A two minute walk from Dune House is the renowned Ship Pub which offers a superb choice of food likely to suit all tastes. Alternatively, there is the The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe, or the Orange Tree in Thornham for a more special occasion try Titchwell Manor, other favourites are the Thornham Deli and Erics Fish and chips both in Thornham or Gin Trap Inn in Ringstead, a short drive away.

For events, the Norfolk & Norwich Festival offers a wide variety of theatre, art & music throughout the county between 11th -27th May 2018

Burnham Market has a fabulous Craft Fair on Saturday 18th August

On a practical note, the nearest bank is in Hunstanton approximately 7 miles from Brancaster with the nearest hospital located in King's Lynn, 23 miles from Brancaster.
