Family Friendly home in Central location with 3 bedrooms, also for Longer Lets
This lovely Vintage House is managed by Elizabeth Lytton - The Hotel Alternative. We invite you to stay at this pretty cottage near Notting Hill and only 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus; London's central point.
Ideal for friends, a family or corporate lets. When you rent an Elizabeth Lytton managed home – you can be assured of a beautiful, well prepared property, in a vibrant and lovely neighbourhood. Hotel-quality, but with a personal service.
This house is on a quiet street in the heart of Brackenbury Village, Hammersmith. The street is lined with colourful Victorian cottages with pretty gardens. It is like stepping back in time, little has changed for over 100 years since they were built.
However, you walk in the little gate to the front door and step inside this cottage and suddenly you are brought into an open plan space, full of colour. The house is an amazing collection of vintage pieces and paintings. It’s a very peaceful home, and is ideal for families with young children. The sitting room seats 8 comfortably, leading onto the large kitchen/dining room and patio garden.
The sitting room has lots of books, a desk, WIFI and satellite TV. The kitchen has everything from blender, scales, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, to pantry items to get you started. There is also a high chair for young children.
There is a downstairs guest washroom, and upstairs there is a bathroom with bath and shower enclosure, and washing machine. On the first floor there are two bright and spacious bedrooms, both with twin beds. All luxury linen and towels are provided.
On the second floor there is an ensuite shower room, and king size double bed with great views across the gardens and leafy neighbourhood.
There are two pubs that serve British food and ales. Both are within a couple of minutes walk from the house – The Butcher’s Hook (Cockney rhyming slang for “Look”) and The Anglesea Arms. Two minutes further on you reach Ravenscourt Park with tennis court, children’s playground, tea room, garden centre and pond complete with wild ducks and geese.

About the Owner
About Ginette Lytton
Elizabeth Lytton has been managing short term rentals of our own properties in the UK and Spain for over 12 years. Last year we established Elizabeth Lytton – The Hotel Alternative to manage short term rentals for other Homeowners' properties in a few, select areas of West and Central London.
We have chosen beautiful homes only in village-like, residential and family oriented neighbourhoods. With excellent transport links to all over London. And located only 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus; London’s central point.
These areas are near where we live and we know very well, which allows us to provide Homeowners and Guests a personal and local service.
Having managed our own homes for so long, we understand your expectations and how to prepare the homes to meet your requirements. We also have an extensive network of skilled professionals who we know can assure you receive a hotel-quality service during your stay.
I am married with two children. We used to live in our Barcelona villa, which we now rent for holiday lets to groups of families and friends, or for corporate team building, weddings and events.
We are now living back in Brackenbury Village, Hammersmith, and loving the London dynamism and diversity – there is so much to get involved in and do here!
Whether you are visiting London or Barcelona – Elizabeth Lytton – The Hotel Alternative will provide the services and personal welcome you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Why Ginette Lytton chose London
I was born in this area of London. There are great schools around here, and all the amenities you need for a great family life. There is a wonderful sense of community here and many of us have been living around here for many many years. I bought my house round the corner from this Victorian cottage in 1993. The good thing about this area is that because the BBC is nearby, Disney and Coca Cola for example have their headquarters here, there are many interesting and creative people in this neighbourhood with all the theatres, pubs, comedy and music venues to keep you entertained. Also a diverse range of restaurants. Shepherds Bush food market, and Westfield shopping centre - said to be the largest in Europe - is just 10 minutes walk away. Most importantly the transport links into the centre of town and out of town are amazing - you can be at the Houses of Parliament in 20 minutes.

Great spot for a family trip to London
Our family stayed at this home during a recent vacation to London. There were 3 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room for all of us, so much nicer than cramming into a hotel room! The location was a nice, quiet neighborhood walking distance to restaurants, groceries, and public transportation. We were there to mainly see the major London attractions and it took us about 20-30 minutes on public transit to get where we wanted to go. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare quick breakfasts and a nice dinner and the beds were comfortable. We occasionally had trouble with the wifi, but generally were happy with everything. The property managers were helpful and responsive. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Lovely, comfortable home away from home
Upon arrival to this lovely Vintage house, we were kindly welcomed by Ginette and were so pleased with our accommodations! The listing description was accurate, but it couldn't quite convey the cheerfulness, warmth, and comfort that the home brought to our family. We would often walk to the convenient underground Ravenscourt station(5-10 minute walk) and ride the tube into Central London. After a long day of much walking and sightseeing, our "home away from home" was a welcome, soothing retreat.
Ginette and Peter were friendly, helpful hosts/managers and were always available if and when we had questions. We were especially thankful our first night in London when Ginette graciously called and picked us up in her car as we were walking home from a grocery store in a torrential downpour!
We would definitely recommend this property and were glad to have the personal service that we experienced with the Elizabeth Lytton team.

Lovely, comfortable home in an excellent area
The property is a well maintained three bedroom two bathroom (3 WC's) home in the well established area of Hammersmith. With cable television and wi-fi, everyone in our family felt right at home. There are a number of excellent pubs very close to hand that offer excellent food at reasonable prices. Ravenscourt Park is a handy two minute walk away and is a lovely park with beautiful trees, duck pond, play area for the little ones and a number of coffee shops within easy reach. The property is exactly as advertised and the manager could not do enough for us. Her handy dandy guide to the property and the area/London is a highly recommended read. We would highly recommend Elizabeth Lytton to anyone looking for a stay of more than a few days in London.
Authentic and lovely location
What a lovely week we have had! The weather was cold but sunny, so we were able to do so much.
We have visited a lot of Museums (London Museum, V&A, Sciences Museum, Tate British and modern, the Wallace Collection…) and walked a lot through the parks and all the districts. Both were great fun and excellent learning experiences for the kids.
The neighborhood is great and very quiet. It takes a short walk to reach the underground (10 minutes to Ravenscourt station).
Clean, bright and well decorated, the house is equipped with all the comforts of home, The kitchen has everything you could possibly need.
We thoroughly enjoy our time here.
Thank you Ginette and Peter for being so welcoming and helpful.
We will recommend this place to anyone visiting London!
