Chalet Tubber glass-fronted chalet for 10 people with 10% skipass discount

Updated: 23-Oct-2016
Fabulous 5 bedroom chalet with 3 bathrooms - spacious bright and comfortable

One of our most popular chalets to rent in La Tzoumaz Chalet Tubber is a 5-bedroomed property with a huge glass wall front that overlooks the stunning panoramic views of the valley and mountains beyond. Three floors and 200m2 of spacious, bright and comfortable chalet await you and your group for an unforgettable holiday in the Swiss Alps. Equally popular in summer and winter this is a versatile chalet that will not disappoint you.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

This five-bedroom chalet comfortably sleeps up to 10 people in two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, and a fun glass-fronted mezzanine bedroom that doubles up as a second TV/living room and can sleep two more people. There are three bathrooms, two with showers and one with a bath. Chalet Tubber is equipped with a high-chair and a cot suitable for children under 2 years old.

The main floor of this large chalet is an open kitchen/living/dining area with wood-burning stove and underfloor heating. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for large group catering, including a huge central island, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, oven and ceramic glass hob. There are fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. Washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor barbecue are all available for you to use. A large walk-in ski-store just inside the front door helps you to keep all your snow sports clothing and equipment organised.

It’s hard not to relax in front of the huge panoramic feature windows of this magnificent chalet. Take a seat in one of the comfy swivel chairs with a glass of local wine at the end of a hard day on the slopes. The TV corner is equipped with comfortable sofas and a flat-screen television with Cable-TV, DVD player and a stereo. Don’t forget to bring your MP3 player to connect to the stereo system in the living area. Children will love the privacy of their own play room upstairs with TV and glass windows overlooking the downstairs living area. Also very popular in summer, Chalet Tubber has lawns on several sides and balcony areas perfect for a barbecue or a game of boules. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond, and in the other direction towards the legendary Vallon d’Arby and its un-pisted ski itinerary.

Chalet Tubber is equipped with free, high-speed WIFI for your own private use.

We’re sorry but Chalet Tubber is a pet-free property. Please browse our selection of pet-friendly chalets if you would like to travel with your pet.

Parking for 1 or 2 cars outside the chalet. Winter tyres and/or snow chains necessary in winter due to steep access road. Alternative parking is available 200m away, in a lay-by on the main road. Contact us for railway or airport transfers.

The free ski bus (less than 200m from the door) whisks you to the Savoleyres telecabin in a matter of minutes. This modern, high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be offering discounted ski-passes to everyone staying with us from Winter 2015/16. To be eligible for the 10% discount, ski-passes must be ordered and paid in full 12 days in advance of your first ski day. We accept all major credit cards. Orders received up to 2 days in advance are not eligible for the 10% discount however they will be printed for collection with your keys when you arrive in the resort. Last minute orders will be available for collection on the morning after you arrive. Discounted passes are available for all age-groups, for durations from one half-day up to 21 days, and cover the Savoleyres, Verbier or 4-Valleys sectors. The discount does not apply to the insurance options available. Ski-passes can neither be cancelled nor exchanged once they have been ordered. The discount is applicable in high, medium and low season and also applies to family rates. It is not cumulative with any other offers or reductions. On arrival in the resort we will also provide you with discount vouchers for various other services, such as ski equipment rental.

In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. The “Bisses” are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved now and can be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We’ll provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier.

In the peak summer season from early July to late August, the telecabin link to Verbier operates daily from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian or accompanied by your bicycle. You can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for Europe’s highest fondue and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Don’t miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.

About the Manager

We are Percy and Anna Kirkman, and we live in La Tzoumaz all year round, love outdoor sports, and are passionate about the beauty and opportunities of the region. We are fluent in both English and French. Originally from England, we both followed international careers within Procter & Gamble before making a life-changing move to the mountains at the end of 2013. We believe we are the most customer-focused professional holiday rental agency here in the resort, and we work hard year-round to find ways to improve our services to you as holidaymakers.

Amazing vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 5 and a friend visiting. The house is amazing, modern, beautiful designed, light and what a view to enjoy day and night. It was easy to find and Anna and Percy were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed hikes in the local area but also visited Sion and the wine region in the Rhone Valley which is incredible. It was incredible hot in the week we were there in August. We also visited Brigs thermal spa which was wonderful. there are a lot of hot springs in this area with beautiful spas and outdoor pools. The house was big and even with 6 people we had plenty of space to read but also to sit down in evenings and play together.......the kitchen is well equipped and we cooked every night all together and ate outside in the gorgeous garden with a view. We can only highly recommend this house for families or big group of friends you will enjoy it.

The versatile resort of La Tzoumaz is nestled just over the back of Verbier’s Mount Savoleyres with access to all of the famous Verbier 4-Valleys slopes and off-piste areas in winter. In summer, the mountains become a paradisaical network of hiking trails and mountain-bike routes, with something for every taste. From La Tzoumaz you can ride the same legendary pistes and powder bowls, but accommodation prices are only a fraction of those in Verbier itself! Every property is prepared to high standards and each has a stunning panoramic view of the mountains and valley. The resort is only 1h45 from Geneva Airport, and transfers can be arranged on request. We live in the resort year-round and are on hand to welcome you on your arrival and to help you with anything you might need to know or arrange, whether before, during or after your stay. If we’re not in the office, we’ll gladly take your call even if we’re out enjoying the biking, hiking or skiing for ourselves…
