APARTMENT WITH STUNNING SEA VIEWS IN PITTENWEEM NEAR ST ANDREWS

Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Nov-2016
Spacious one bedroom apartment with private patio : sleeps 2 : in Pittenweem

Cormora offers well equipped quality contemporary holiday accommodation in a traditional building. The apartment is all on one level and has stunning sea views including the Isle of May and Pittenweem Harbour. It is 50m from the picturesque harbour and next to the Fife Coastal Path with beaches, bar, restaurants and a golf course all within 500metres.

Cormora is beautifully decorated and provides a spacious lounge with dining area, a separate kitchen, a large double bedroom with built in wardrobe and a bathroom. There is a private patio with glazed screen revealing stunning sea views over the Firth of Forth, while on the foreground rocks groups of various seabirds gather at low tide.

Garden seats, a table and a BBQ are provided for those long warm summer evenings. Treat yourself to a relaxing glass of wine while taking in the amazing vista.

Pittenweem is a charming historic fishing village with a picturesque harbour area. The harbour is the most active of all the East Neuk fishing ports and is a lively and vibrant place at any time of day and any time of year. The fish market is conducted in the harbour sheds every morning and makes interesting viewing.

Around the harbour and all along the foreshore and beach area is the jumble of crow step gabled and pan tiled houses, many with quaint outside stairs.

The High Street is connected to the harbour and foreshore via intimate alleys and lanes, one of which passes St Fillans cave, the key for which is locally available. The High Street has a variety of shops, cafes and art galleries,

Pitenweem is famous for its Art Festival which takes place during the first week of August each year.

Me and my new wife stayed here for a 4 nights early October, the apartment is excellent throughout very clean modern decor with everything you need and more. The views from the patio were a fantastic extra. The village itself has a couple of places to eat/drink along with afew shops. Overall we had a lovely time and would return.

Lovely clean, home from home property with a beautiful sea view location

  • 5 of 5

Cormora was just as described and everything we hoped it would be. It was immaculately clean, nicely furnished and equipped with everything we could need. We enjoyed using the binoculars to watch the abundant bird life from the patio area. My husband loved reading the history of the Pittenweem witches and imagining how things were then back in time. Pittenweem is a charming, pretty little village, as were all the villages around. We loved walking the coastal path from Elie to St Andrews (not all at once) with fantastic views around every corner. Being an amateur photographer, I was amazed at all the beautiful views, whatever the weather, and took nearly 1000 photos! We enjoyed the local seafood which we bought at the harbourside in Pittenweem and even tried a lobster which we bought at Crail Harbour and local grown fruit & veg from the nearby farm shops. Highly recommended and the owner quickly dealt with a problem we had with the heating.

Owner's Response: Good to hear you enjoyed you stay, we like walking the coastal path as well. Some times the best photos are when the sea is rough. We are lucky that we have a very good electrician and heating engineer who come as quickly as possible should we have any problems.

Absolutely fabulous

  • 5 of 5

We were amazed at how lovely this place is. Better than the photos. Joyce has taken a lot of time and care to provide everything you could possibly want including a welcome supply of milk, bread, eggs, muesli and jams on arrival. The interior is lovely and a comfy bed. Fully equipped kitchen too. The location is wonderful with stunning views from the back patio across the water. The local village is full of interesting places to wander about in and we can highly recommed the local pub and the Coco cafe. Good grocery shopping at the Coop in Anstruther. a short distance away. Half an hour drive to Markinch station to get the train in to Edinburgh Waverley ( recommended). Handy to St Andrews and lots of other attractions. We were glad of our visit!

Coramora, Pittenweem

  • 5 of 5

Superb location, excellently appointed, spotlessly clean and very welcome food supplies on arrival. We thought on road parking might be a problem but there was always a space. We found Pittenweem and th other vilages along the coast charming and enjoyed the arts festival and the pottery in Crail. St Andrew's is beautiful and interesting and Kellie Castle and Hill of Tarvit very well kept properties and gardens. The Fisheries Museum in Anstruther another interestingly presented series of exhibitions and a good tea room. If you want a choice of quality restaurants this is not the place but pub meals and local fish menus were very good value for money. The weather also was good.We would recommend the property and the area to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you positive comments. The local shell fish is really good as it is still a working harbour with catches brough in to the village every day. Although it means driving or taking a bus there are a number of quality restaurants in the area including the Cellar, the Peat Inn and several in St Andrews.

Lovely flat

  • 4 of 5

The flat is lovely and well kept in a lovely location - the only problem is the bed is not of a good quality and not very comfy so unfortunately we did not

get a decent sleep. Apart from that we had not complaints at all

Owner's Response: So sorry you didn't sleep well. We chose a mid range mattress as we know that everyone has different requirements, and sadly there is no bed/matress that will satisfy all. This is reflected in several reviews by people who thought the bed was very comfortable. The bed itself we chose for its robustness, and again mid-range. Glad everything was ok for you.
