About this property

House under the olive trees (iun.gov. it / P1109)

It is a three-room with four beds, a nice little kitchen separated from the lounge. The bathroom has a shower. There are, internally, two fireplaces: one is in the living room and one in the master bedroom, very romantic. Outside is a shady porch furnished with a table, chairs and a hanging chair ideal for cakes readings. Inevitable the barbeque and outdoor shower. The garden is planted and you can use the hammock for naps restaurateurs.

The perfect home from home under the olive trees
We spent the first two weeks in September at this wonderful place. Everything was perfect, from the quaint romantic main bedroom to the small but well equipped kitchen. Marina has decorated the spotless little house with care and excellent taste so it feels more like a well-loved home than a rental property. Marina was so kind and welcoming – when she realised we were interested in seeing more of the area she brought further information of things to do and provided her own recommendations as well. She also lent us a beach umbrella so we didn’t have to buy our own. One of the best aspects of the house was the outside space – the colourful gardens, patio area, Boules court and BBQ. It gave us flexibility so we didn’t need to go out to eat every night and some of our favourite evenings were spent relaxing outside, cooking , listening to music and playing cards – the delicious Sardinian wine also helped! There were some midges about so do pack an insect repellent spray. There is a large Crai supermarket a 5 minute walk back towards the town – with fresh bread, fish and meat counters, deli , fresh vegetables and frozen food, wines, beers etc. which was really convenient and it stayed open every day until late. Pula town centre is a 15 minute walk along pavements and has a lively pedestrianised main square with lots of shops, restaurants and café-bars – so a good amount of meal options and great for pre-dinner Aperol Spritz and people watching. We would recommend having a rental car – we can’t comment on the local transport system but for us being able to travel further afield and see more of the south coast was a real bonus. Cagliari is well worth a day trip and in the opposite direction a couple of hours drive away the island of Sant Antioco was lovely too. The most famous beaches of Chia were nearby - beautiful however busy - Italian school children don’t go back until the third week in September - the beaches were less crowded in the second week. Nora beach may not be quite as spectacular but was very local and a little more chilled out plus you have the archaeological site at Nora as well, and definitely worth a visit. This was our third visit to Sardinia but our first in the south of the island and Homeaway rental. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back to the house under the olive trees – Marina was the perfect host and we highly recommend this property.

Beautiful little house/garden
This is our first time to Sardinia and won't be our last for sure!!! Marina's beautiful house was perfect for us (family of three) = the house//host/location etc... everything you would wish for a great holiday. Marina was very responsive/helpful/friendly for all my enquiries from the very beginning of booking till the time of departure. Once you are warmly welcomed by her and step into her beautiful house, you will instantly know that you have definitely made a right decision!! The house has everything you need for a beach holiday. We were also very lucky as a brand new supermarket (Crai) has opened just around the corner 2 days before we arrived!! It was very handy indeed. They are open til late even on Sundays! We enjoyed BBQ with Sardinian wine and beer almost every dinner!!! Marina kindly booked a restaurant called Su Furriadroxu for us one evening and we had a great meal there too. Friday evening in Pula town was very lively!! The town only wakes up after 8pm! Our favourite beach was Su Giudeu (less than 25mins drive) . Amazing crystal clear water/white sand. You can see lots of small fish swimming around! It was simply stunning! It was a true paradise. I will highly recommend to stay Marina's beautiful house if you are looking for a quiet/relaxing/beautiful yet very convenient place to stay. We wish we had booked one more week.. We will definitely be back very near future... Thank you Marina for the lovely week...

Welcoming, private and relaxing
We had such a lovely week in Marina's house. It was so comfortable with lots of personal touches that made it feel like your own holiday home. We loved the garden and terrace in particular with its barbecue, and had lots of meals out there. The house was spotlessly clean and Marina was incredibly helpful and kind, with lots of recommendations of where to go when we arrived. The location was also perfect, a 15 min walk (or v quick drive) gets you to central Pula and all is restaurants and bars but the house still feels like it's out of town - peaceful and quiet. All the beautiful beaches of Chia are also only a 20 min drive away. Thank you Marina, we will be coming back! :)

A house as delightful as the pictured arbour suggests, secluded, tasteful and everything you need.
Although in the vicinity of busy roads, and (advantageously) only a short walk from Pula town centre, the property, with its adjacent olive grove and surrounded by varied and colourful shrubs and flowers, and with fine mountain views, provides relaxation and seclusion. The interior is embellished with Marina’s rich collection of pottery, copper etc, and is more fully provisioned in the practical sense than one usually finds. I cannot speak too highly of Marina’s generosity and helpfulness; she attended to our every need — before we arrived (eg beach towels), and when necessary during our stay. There are lots of useful booklets, pamphlets and maps with information about the surrounding area — scenic spots, shops, restaurants, beaches. The best beaches in our opinion are about 25 minutes’ drive away in Chia, but Nora is much closer, and that also has a wonderful archeological site. The restaurant we liked most is Zia Leunora in Via Trieste — superb fish dishes. We had only three reservations: there aren’t any obvious pathways for rural walking in the immediate vicinity; the second bedroom has only bunk beds for children, though I found it perfectly usable; and mosquitoes were quite prevalent (probably due mainly to its being a September stay, with a lot of rain at night, more than usual someone told us, and nets are set up on all the beds). None of these factors significantly marred a lovely week’s holiday, and we would certainly return for another one.

My name is Marina, I am 54 years old and live in Cagliari, where job at a telecommunications company. My husband's name is Giampaolo, 63 years old, he is a doctor and works at a hospital of Cagliari. It 'specialist in Pneumology. We have two children, Alice, 28, and Mark, 16, both students.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property when my first child was still a child, to live with her the wonders available in this oasis of peace. The same opportunities we offer to our second child. Now they are grown and want to holiday in different places. We continue to go to Pula, especially during the weekends but there seems wasted leave it empty for the rest of the year.

What makes this property unique

I really like our little house, for so many reasons. It is in the countryside but a few steps from the town. It is near the sea and, to achieve it, you can decide to take a walk on foot, or by bicycle or, when it's hot, is not prohibitive go to the beach by car: there are many car parks. If you do not feel like going to the beach you may very well decide to rest in the garden. The space is wide and it is invaluable for healthy readings. Even the mountains are very close, just go along the mountain road leading to the golf course Is Molas. In the spring they are rich in water and cyclamens. The architecture of the house is delightful, its renovation was carried out by a dear friend, architect.
