The south - west facing villa enjoys probably the best views over the lake and mountains. The modern living accommodation is on one level with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining room and two twin bedrooms, bathroom and one double bedroom with en suite bathroom, terrace and balcony. Patio doors from the lounge lead to a large terrace with BBQ and steps leading down to the good size pool with sun loungers on the lower terrace. The pool is surrounded by attractive gardens, terraces and orchard . This small and unspoilt area of Andalucia –to the north east of Malaga - is still a well kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras. Only 15 minutes to the Mediterranean coast, and 35 minutes to Malaga international airport. Due to good motorway connections, Granada and Antequera can be reached in 1 hour, Cordoba and Seville in 2 hours.. Large reductions for long term rentals.

Los Romanes has several very good restaurants, small local supermarkets, local bakery and butchers, village bars and olive mill. There are more excellent restaurants on the lake shore. The villas are superbly located near to an excellent connecting road network giving very easy access to all main centres including Marbella (60 - 70 min)and Granada (90 mins). Golfers: A new Golf Club has opened approx 15 minutes from the Villa called Baviera Golf (18 holes), length 5,910 metres, Par- 72. There is another at Caleta de Velez (Torre del Mar) and a third - Club Anoreta (18 holes), Length 5,976 metres, Par- 72. At Rincon de la Victoria (Axarquia). Skiing is 90 minutes away in Granada. The aqua park is 15 mins away and water sports 10 mins away. There is a track around the lake for cycling or walking with artificial beaches and picnic spots with magnificent views. You can walk to the lake from the villa - approx 5 minutes.
Local Attractions/beaches: The Lake offers two excellent restaurants (lake shore setting) swimming, fishing (with permit), sailing, windsurfing, canoes. Also available nearby there is horse riding, mountain biking, bird watching and hiking. There are many nearby whitewashed villages to explore, with bars and restaurants serving local dishes including Tapas. Beaches- Torre Del Mar (15 mins), Torrox (20 mins) and Nerja (35 mins)
Skiing Information: The Sierra Nevada is a 2 hour drive away with ski resorts - pre-booking for skiing is advisable.
Reductions will be given for long term off seasons lets. Christmas, New Year, and monthly rentals available. Change over day is negotiable so that renters can take advantage of cheaper mid-week flights. This does not apply to peak and high season when changeover day is Saturday. Once your booking is confirmed, the price is fixed and will not change.
Full marks for all areas excellent information prior to arriving and extremely helpful! The owner and his maintenance staff could not do enough for me and my family, they helped with everything from directions to the local restaurants, shops and beaches to the hiring of a car at competitive rates. The Villa itself was presented in an excellent condition and everything required to keep it that way was provided, the air condition was superb and a must as it got pretty hot lazing at the poolside. The views across lake Vinuela are outstanding from the villas pool/BBQ area and are an excellent backdrop when having your early evening BBQ. Everything was provided with the villa even a high chair, cot and pool toys for my one year old son. I would and have recommended this villa to anyone who is looking for a laid back break or require a base in the malaga area. A car is essential and there are Golf courses and beaches all within a 20min drive. Local restaurants and grocery stores are all within 5min and we didn't have any bad experiences. I would like to thank Frazer and his team for a most enjoyable experience.
it is just as the description and photos suggest. A great place to chill out and see the great views and hardly any noise from the villa next door or anywhere else for that matter.
the local agent was very helpful and a good source of insider info and area know how, the place itself was clean throughout and I would have no problem recommended this place.
there is a local shop run by Brits or a huge hypermarket a bit further away.
the roads even in peak time are very quiet around here.
the kids,(2x teenagers) loved the good size pool and the places that can be visited close by.
if like me you dont want the sounds and sights of the crowded beaches or city then this is the place to come.
Arriving in the dark after a long day, we were more than pleased to step inside this clean, comfortable villa. We were even more pleased to awaken to a bright sunny day and the spectacular views across Lake Vinuela.
This property has a fabulous position on the hillside, and commands the most amazing views right across the lake and beyond to the mountains. With the terrace, bbq and ample seating, we spent most of our evenings eating, laughing, playing cards and watching for shooting stars.
The pool was well maintained and regularly serviced during our stay. We had lots of loungers for relaxing and a second table and chairs in the shade, for those that needed a break from the sun.
One does need a car to stay here, especially if you would like to sightsee.But there are local shops and restaurants within walking distance, in the village, too. By car we visited Nerja, Torre de Mar, Frigliana, Marbella and some of the local mountian villages. Beach and walking in the natural park are both a short journey away.
Both the owner and agent looking after the property have been extremely friendly and helpful.
We ate out locally at the restaurant at the top of the hill and it was excellent. The service was very good and the food was superb. We also ate lunch on the beach a few times. Seafood- great, and we went to Brensons in Castillo Acinetos(?). Completely different food, more contemporary but very, very good. We also found Eroski, the supermarket in Velez Malaga, superb. Especially the fish and seafood counter.,
I would definitely recommend this property to a friend, although,selfishly, I might want to keep it a secret!!! Thank you for a great holiday.
