About the property

4 Bed, 2 Bath, Sleeps 10, Mountain Views, Covered BBQ Area, Covered Terraces

Your beautiful holiday home located in the countryside (Campo) an easy 15 minute walk from the white-washed village of Alcaucin and only 45 minute drive from Malaga Airport. The rural location has easy access, whilst still maintaining the cosy country feel that Andalucia has to offer - relaxation in the sunshine in your own large 9 x 4 meter pool.

In the spring time a nightingale sings a beautiful song, the birds sing most of the year, which is rather charming.

The pool area is situated just off of the lounge, with the shallow end closest to the house, ideal for keeping an eye on the children. It is so secluded you could sun bath for an all over tan then take a cooling dip, if you so desire. The pool and gardens are maintained weekly, we make every effort to ensure your privacy, whilst always being available if needed.

There are many private terraces (both covered and open) and a BBQ area, plus well stocked gardens. The property is south facing for optimum sunshine - there are many trees in the gardens if a little extra shade is required.

The hand made kitchen has a beautiful round Moroccan table with wicker chairs and a separate breakfast bar by the window that looks out to a most beautiful view, especially in the early mornings. A wonderful arch leads you through to the utility area containing the washing machine, dish washer and large fridge freezer. It is fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwich toaster etc. The double doors open on to the terrace outside where you could also have breakfast. It has every thing you need for a holiday home from home.

The house is flexible comfy and well equipped offering 'Excellent Value' in stunning surroundings.

A FREE bountiful 'Welcome Pack' is always provided, fresh fruit or vegetables from the gardens of Spain depending on the season. If you are arriving late we are happy to get a little extra shopping in for you if needed.

A great base for exploring the historic jewels and natural splendors of Andalucia including the beautiful natural parks, glorious beaches of the Mediterranean plus wonderful cities of Malaga and Seville.

Surrounded by olive groves and rural views of mountains and undulating hills. It's a rural and idyllic area suitable for walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and people who just want to relax alike.

Try one of the many bars and restaurants in the local villages to sample local wines and delicacies, the nearest being (1 km) which is renowned for its tapa

A detached two story newly built house using traditional methods (not a boxed villa) having being completed in 2004. With its own private covered outside dining area with fully equipped BBQ, large sun terraces and Mediterranean gardens.

On the ground floor, you have an open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining area, ground floor bedroom and lounge, very large vaulted entrance hallway, together with satellite television, DVD, iDock and Wi-Fi to help you unwind (with a glass of wine or beer).

The well kept beach resort of Torre Del Mar, with it's long promenade, numerous parks and many varied eateries.

Malaga city centre is under an hour away, we highly recommend a visit to the 'old quarter' with its narrow streets and Juliet balconies are just stunning. The old Moorish castle (free on Sunday afternoons) and many museums are just some of the attractions the city has to offer.

The beautiful historic city of Granada is reachable by car in less than 2 hours, don't forget to book a visit to the Alhambra palace.

The cities of Seville, Cordoba and Cadiz are also 2 hours drive, as is the beautiful town of Ronda, plus many many more.

If a little bit of the UK takes your fancy Gibraltar is just a day out from your retreat.

Why David Cullimore chose Alcaucín

Los Arcos offers a central and rural location to visit many areas of interest such as Malaga, Granada and Seville, all within easy reach by car. Torre del Mar and Malaga offer the usual beaches with Chirangitos that serve wonderful fish dishes along with other delicacies you're sure to enjoy. El Torcal a mini grand cannon which is a stunning mountain attraction with wildlife and views to take your breath, that we can personally recommend. Natural Parks to enjoy BBQ's (Oct to May only) and nature at its best. There are local restaurants which serve coffees, beers, wines and spirts most of the day. Best of all the casa can be your retreat for an evening watching the sun set with a glass of wine, a cool beer or even a nice cup of tea....

What makes this villa unique

This area is very beautiful, rolling hills and mountains that dip down to the azure coloured sea. Little white-washed cottages with drying beds for the moscatel grapes dot the countryside. The hillsides are covered with vines, almonds, olives, avocados and mangoes. Spring brings multitudes of wild flowers to Andalucia and wildlife from eagles to chameleons is varied and colourful.

Here you have the advantage of being in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by beautiful mountains, yet only 35 minutes from the beach, shops and the night-life on the Costa del Sol.

Alcaucin and Puente don Manuel :

Offers all the local amenities of banks, shops, medical centre, pharmacy, tobacconist, post office and places to eat - tapa, raciones or 'menu del dia'. Market day is on Saturday morning where you can see local produce and maybe grab a bargain.

Has a doctor’s surgery, a chemist, a tobacconist, a post office and a very good all in one shop selling everything you may need.. Market day is on Friday. Several bars/cafes offer very good ‘menu del dia’.

Malaga city's old quarter is very beautiful and has fantastic restaurants and tapas bars. Malaga’s Santa Semana Easter festival is breathtaking and the ten day August Festival is world renowned.

Everything we hoped it would be.

A beautifully appointed villa in a fabulous, tranquil location with breathtaking views. Superb swimming pool and garden area. Comfortable, spacious and homely villa. Easy walk to Alcaucin for bars and restaurants and shops. Perfect place for genuine relaxation, away from mass tourist areas. Alcaucin itself is a friendly attractive real Spanish village with a lovely atmosphere. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa for a wonderful stress free holiday. Great for adults and children alike. Hope to return sometime.

Wonderful place

  • 4 of 5

A wonderful house in a tranquil location, with gorg views and sunsets, only 20 mins walk from the whitewashed hillside v attractive town of Alcaucin (friendly, good restaurants, v pretty, small town adequate amenities). The house has lots to offer – the pool is a great size and perfect for the 5 children we had who were barely out of it. The Moorish style mix-match décor is very fitting for the area – it’s all quite loved but very useable. We had two families staying at the house and we would have benefited from more crockery and kitchen utensils and perhaps more towels (clearly separated for pool and household use) – but these are minor comments. The one downfall was not having a downstairs toilet to access (there are two upstairs) – this was a bit annoying when by the pool/enjoying being outside. All in all a very enjoyable visit was had by all.

Beautiful Villa and great location

  • 5 of 5

We've rented many villas in the mountains of southern Spain and we've loved them all, but our party all agreed that this is the best. The building itself is good, but the finishing touches inside and out make it a lovely environment to spend some time. Our evenings drinking and playing games by the lit pool with fairylights around were wonderful. Also of course the pool is lovely and the views stunning. The table tennis table got a lot of use. And for us the week was made by the 15 minute strolls into an unspoiled white village which has a couple of excellent (and cheap and very friendly) places to eat and drink. Very highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you John for saying beautiful things about my house. I also thank you for looking after it. I think having the track done really helped the access, I am so happy that you had a wonderful holiday, playing games and having a laugh, sounds fun, you have added a happy atmosphere to the house. Nice memories to hold. Love Sally

Beautiful house stunning views nightingale sang

  • 4 of 5

Very nice property in a very quiet location. A nightingale sings in the olive grove beside the cottage. I can thoroughly recommend the place. Undersheets and two pillowcases would be nice and the track down needs care in a low slung car, but small quibbles with a great place

Owner's Response: Dear Jos & Maya Thank you for your kind words, yes the nightingales do sing beautifully. The track you speak of was the first 30 meters off of the road, I have subsequently had it concreted, now the entire track is concrete, thank you for pointing this out to us. I'm not quite sure what is meant by the undersheets and two pillow cases, but i will ensure that all linen is in order and i apologise for that. Once again thanks for your kind words and i am glad you had a wonderful holiday. Love Sally x
