Campagne le Claou is a delightful old stone built property set amid idyllic 12 acres of vineyards, olive trees, garden and forest. It has been tastefully restored in 2014 to combine modern convenience and Provençal charm. Four bedrooms accommodate eight guests in comfort plus an additional two children. Wireless internet access is available throughout the house and outdoor terraces. The large, deep swimming pool is surrounded by a stone terrace furnished with chairs and loungers and with great views to the vineyards, mountains and the medieval village of Callas. Situated in the countryside between the Mediterranean and the mountains the property serves as a great hub for lots of adventures all over beautiful Provence. An ideal and luxury hide away for a group of friends, a big family, two families or two-three generations.

The property is an old two-story stone house of 210 square metres – a typical Provencal mas built out of big local stones. The house is surrounded by majestic cypress trees and beautifully landscaped terraces on several levels with stone walls. The property has land holdings totalling 12 acres of vineyards, forest, olive groves and lawns with fruit trees, including abricot, almond, cherry and fig trees, which offer plenty of unique places to enjoy life in both sun and shade. The entire property is fenced with an electrically fence in order to keep the area's wild boars out. But you may be lucky to spot a small herd of wild boars in the landscape – usually at dusk.

The nearest village of Callas has a small supermarket, a baker, a café as well as 3-4 good restaurants, its own olive mill and holds a food market every Saturday. The larger, bustling and colourful village of Bargemon known as the “Pearl of Var” is only a few more kilometres up in the mountains as is the beautiful village of Clavier. Many other stunning towns and villages are within few mins drive, including St. Tropez which can easily be reached by car or by boat from St. Maxime.

The nearest beach at Côtes d’Azur is only 30 mins drive away. The spectacular Gorge du Verdon is within an hours' drive for hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and white water rafting, or just to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and a day by Lac St. Croix. Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to note that the nearest golf course is only 10 km away and will find 8 golf courses within a radius of 30 km.

The perfect vacation experience!

We have just stayed a second time in this beautiful home, with our whole family of six, the mother in law and our dog. As last year, we enjoyed our stay very much. The house is very well equipped with a fantastic kitchen and very tastefully designed living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc..

The outdoor areas let you experience "the best of Provence", highlighted by the huge pool, the covered dining area on the terrasse and a special area for playing Boules while the beautiful trees are being lit at night.

The house and the gardens have been decorated with love and taste by the owners. The local management run by a British lady was again perfect, super friendly and very professional.

We have rented quite a few carefully selected vacation homes with our family before. This home has been by far the best of all the homes we have rented so far! We can therefore highly recommend this unique vacation home to anyone, who is looking for an exceptional home in a great location.

Most wonderful Campagne Le Claou, by Rikke Bydam

We had the pleasure of spending one week at Campagne Le Claou in the summer of 2017.

We arrived at a very elegant and charming house, with perfect facilities for two families (a total of 9 people). The beautifully situated house met the expectations of all ages. The terraces and the big and very nice pool were the preferred gathering points, and we spent many hours there. But when required the first floor was perfect as a “student apartment”, where the teenagers could escape from parental supervision. The parents on the other hand could enjoy the petanque lane, while preparing dinner on the outdoor grill. The house was tastefully furnished and equipped with all required needs in both kitchen, living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms, and the beds were really comfortable, and we quickly felt at home in Campagne le Claou.

The surroundings and the landscape are beautiful. During our stay the weather in southern France fortunately showed its full potential which contributed to a remarkable holiday in one of southern Europe’s beautiful areas.

We enjoyed the scenery around Campagne Le Claou with its authentic wine fields, the city of Callas and the surrounding hills, and while enjoying the nice pool area in the early sunrise we got a glimpse of wild boars.

After spending a week in Campagne Le Claou we can definitely recommend the villa, and we will most certain come back to visit the villa and the area which we in both cases felt for.

Amazing place with sunset view by the pool

This place is absolutely amazing and is all we had hoped for! We stayed here 9 people for a week, and there was more than enough room for all of us.

The house itself is an old-style French brick stone house that looks like it's been refurbished recently, so everything is top-notch but kept in classic southern French design. The best part about the house is probably that the lovely kitchen is situated right next to a large outdoor dining area and a boules court, making it ideal for the whole group to hang out in the early evening hours.

The pool is very big, but kids friendly, and we spent pretty much all sunlight hours by it. In fact, we ended up dropping our plans to visit local sightseeing places because the vineyard itself was so lovely we didn't want to leave. Also, the view from the pool is breathtaking, especially with gorgeous sunsets overlooking the vineyard vine stocks and mountains in the horizon!

We stayed there for a week and we could easily have taken more days, if not a whole week more. Would love to come back sometime!

Une magnifique maison dans un endroit de rêve!!

Un bel endroit calme, proche d'un joli village et à mi chemin entre les Gorges du Verdon et les plages. Une magnifique maison en pierres, entourée d'oliviers, de vignes, d'arbres fruitiers, d'une grande piscine avec une vue magnifique, d'une terrasse ombragée et d'un terrain de pétanque, voilà le décor de ce superbe lieu de vacances. La maison ancienne a été entièrement rénovée avec beaucoup de goût. Les murs de pierres garde la fraicheur et conserve le style Provençal. L'équipement intérieur est digne d'une résidence principale, rien ne manque dans la cuisine, l'électroménager est de haute qualité, la décoration des chambres est de bon goût et la literie très confortable. Lise avait pensé à tout pour faire de nos vacances une belle réussite. C'est un lieu et une maison que nous avons tous adoré. Le seul inconvénient est que nous y étions tellement bien que nous n'avons pratiquement pas bougé pendant une semaine, sauf pour aller aux Gorges du Verdon (un must!) et découvrir les marchés des petits villages avoisinants le matin.

Autre point important à préciser, Lise la propriétaire est adorable et les personnes sur place (Julie pour la remise des clés et Mireille pour le ménage) le sont tout autant; elles ont tout fait pour répondre à nos demandes pendant notre séjour.

Alors n'hésitez pas une seconde à louer cette maison, vous serez dans un lieu magnifique!!

Fabulous property in a great secluded location

We had a great time at this fantastic property, which is better in real life than in pictures. The house is spacious and well equipped, set on really large and nicely secluded plot, with a great and sizeable pool. It's a perfect base to explore Provence, but to be honest, we spent most of the time by the pool!
