Torrent- Villa in national park but only 10 mins from everything you need !

Our villa lies 1km up a track off the C66 between Torrent (which has a superb 5 star restaurant) and St Climent de Peralta (a pretty hamlet) and is situated just within the Gavarres National Park.This region of Baix Emporda is known as the ‘’Golden Triangle’’ and is renowned for its wide ranging attractions and quality of life. The villa has wonderful panoramic views that stretch from the Pyrenees in the north to the Illes Medes islands offshore. Although quiet, secluded and completely self contained it is only 10 mins to the nearest supermarket..Also within 10 mins you will find all the facilities of historic Pals,Peratallada, Begur,and Palafrugell with their wonderful local markets and cultural interests.The local vineyard Mas Oller and Can Soleras (olive oil) are especially worth visiting. This area also contains many fine restaurants, beautiful beaches and sporting activities, and hosts an array of events throughout the summer months, including open air concerts that attract global visitors and locals alike.

The villa itself was originally built in 1973 and has been extended over the years before being fully refurbished and modernised in 2013. It retains the Catalan style externally but is fully updated internally to provide comfort cooled accommodation for up to 10 persons (6 adults) with a range of facilities for a relaxing summer vacation. There is a large master suite with a separate dressing and shower room and 1st fl balcony, a further large bedroom with adjacent family bathroom, a self-contained en-suite bedroom plus a fourth bedroom equipped with bunk beds providing a wide range of accommodation to suit couples and families alike. A cot is available on request. Children are more than welcome but no special safety measures have been included for the smaller ones (could provide on request).

There is a large kitchen and dining area which also services the external BBQ and terrace areas making '' al fresco'' eating and entertaining easy and fun!

Full washing and drying facilities + and additional fridges are contained in the adjacent utility room.

There is a TV for those who cant resist it together with CD players, MP3 terminal and an excellent WiFi connection.

Externally we have a large pool and covered terraced area and a pool room with shower and w/c. There is also a boules pitch and extensive rustic gardens for exploring, running around in or simply finding a quiet spot to sit in. The gardens contain various fruit, almond and flowering trees .The figs are especially tasty and there is abundance of herbs for the BBQ.

There is ample parking for up to 3 cars.

Linen, cleaning and pool maintenance are available with on a weekly basis and our property manager (James) is available for advice and guidance on local places to see, restaurants to visit and generally anything you need to know to help your holiday along.

Pets are permitted subject to house rules and there is an external kennel and run if needed.

There is easy access to water sports with windsurfing on the sandy beach at Pals, diving centres, scuba diving, fishing and boat hire at Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu and Llafranc 12km away, also local horse riding. A children's Water Park less than 20 minutes away.

Easy access also for cycling and the more adventurous mountain biking, walking and hiking in the surrounding forest area.

There are 4 golf courses located within 15 mins including Playa de Pals and Emporda both a good test whilst PGA Catalunya is 30 mins away nr Girona airport.

In summer there is an important selection of music festivals with different music programmes in settings of outstanding beauty as castles, churches and monasteries.

Festival Internacional de Música Castell de Peralada (Costa Brava).

Festival Internacional de Músiques de Torroella de Montgrí (Costa Brava). Baroque, classical and Romantic music.

In particular we recommend Festival Jardins de Cap Roig in Calella de Palafrugell, which hosts international music artists through July and August.

Begur provides most attractions for party animals with a variety of bars for every age attracting tourists and locals alike.Can be serious hangover territory !!

The most attractive area of the coast is the small area around Palafrugell which stretches from Pals and Begur in the north, south through Fornells, Aiguablava, Tamariu, Llafranc, to Calella de Palafrugell. This dramatic coastline abounds with beautiful bays, coves and headlands, with sandy beaches washed by sparkling seas, and interspersed by glistening white villages, each very different, the perfect locations for relaxing holidays.

The countryside has some wonderful timeless villages like Peratallada and Ullastret set against a distant backdrop of the ever present Pyrenees. Visit Pals, the walled medieval city; Bisbal famed for its production of ceramics; Torroella de Montgri with its Gothic palaces, courtyards and narrow streets nestling beneath the Castell de Montgri, and the spectacular gardens of Cap Roig. There are various markets to explore, vineyards to visit and slightly further away the Dali Museum in Figueres; whilst the vibrant city of Barcelona is 90 mins away.

FLIGHTS : GIRONA-Costa Brava airport is approximately 40 kms away and is served by a number of airlines from the UK and Europe. Both BARCELONA (www.barcelona-airport.com) and PERPIGNAN (www.perpignanairport.net), just across the border in France, are also within easy reach.

CAR HIRE : All major car hire companies are represented at Girona, Barcelona and Perpignan .

BY CAR : This area of Catalunya is easily accessible by car; the best route is over the French border at La Jonquera or by ferry to Santander.

Perfect Holiday!

We had a wonderful two week stay at Villa Sant Llop in August 2015! We were two families with 4 children and there was plenty of space for us all.

The villa is really lovely with perfect outdoor facilities, complete with BBQ, seating terrace, beautiful gardens and a fabulous pool. Inside, the villa is true to the photographs…. comfortable, clean, spacious with great modern bathrooms!

The owner was very easy to communicate with and provided accurate information for us to find the property with ease. Emma, the property manager is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble. She offered great advise and suggestions of places and beaches to visit….I think we visited most of her recommendations!

The location of this villa was perfect for us - close enough to the most gorgeous, quaint cove beaches or to the long, sandy beaches that go for miles…. but far enough away from the summer crowds, which we just loved!

We managed day trips to a local water park (which the children thoroughly enjoyed), as well as some sightseeing in Girona and Barcelona. The highlight was probably getting back to our rural, quiet and very private villa after a busy day in the surrounding towns and cities.

We would happily return without any hesitation!

Brilliant holiday at Sant Llop in July 2015.

Fantastic property with excellent facilities. It is every bit as good as it looks on the photographs - very private and quiet. Emma, the property manager was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. Beautiful area with huge amounts to see and do. Highly recommended.

Quiet and nice property located in a great location

The Villa Sant Llop was ideally suited for our stay. Out three teenagers really loved the large pool, and were happy to have all comfort in the house. The barbeque served very well. The website gives a good description of the villa; the location is very quiet on the top of a hill between the trees. Of course this has one consequence: it takes a 1km drive over a bumpy road to reach the villa. On arrival we were personally welcomed and we got an introduction to the villa.

Several wonderful locations can be visited in the neighbourhood. We visited several beaches nearby. The rocky coast caves (Cala El Golflet, ...) with crystal clear water lends well to snorkelling. A really sandy beach is difficult to find though.

Great to visit the really nice old cities of Pals, Peratallada, Begur, Girona, ... which are all very close by. I can also advise to take a trip through the rice fields near Pals by Segway. And we went to the botanical gardens of Cap Roig. We planned a visit to Iles Medes by glass-bottomed boat but heavy weather decided differently. Instead we went to the Ruïnes d'Empúries.

To conclude: wonderful place to stay!

Heerlijk huis op prachtige plek!

Wij, twee gezinnen met totaal 9 personen (5 kinderen tussen 4 en 17 jaar), hebben een heerlijke week gehad in dit huis. Ruim, comfortabel, heerlijk zwembad, fijne bbq maar vooral op een erg mooie plek met prachtig uitzicht over de omgeving. In grote lijnen is het huis compleet en ruim net als de tuin. Hierdoor voelt het met een grote groep niet als erg druk.

Punten van aandacht vonden wij:

* het ontbreken van een grote eettafel buiten

* middelen om voldoende schaduw te creëren

* geen vaatwasmachine

* trage wifi.

It's in a quiet location in an outstanding area but within reach of some excellent facilities ( beaches,villages,restaurants) which retain a distinctly Spanish identity.We have been able to restore it with some additions that retain a Catalan feel but in an updated style.
