Two apartments each with two twin bedrooms & double sofa-bed.

Apartamentos Rurales Vista del Sueve apartments are newly built in stone in traditional Asturian style. They look across a valley to give stunning views of the Sierra del Sueve range of mountains.

Apartment Lola is on the upper level and Marshall on the lower.

Each is on one level with a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area, two twin bedrooms and spacious bathroom with a wetroom shower.

The apartments are centrally heated and each is fully equipped with a flat screen TV, cooker hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, washing machine, ironing board and iron. Towels and bed linen are provided.

Both apartments have access to a large terrace with picnic tables and chimenea barbecue. There is also covered outdoor space with a table and chairs on a balcony (Lola) and porch (Marshall).

Apartamentos Rurales Vista del Sueve apartments are newly built in traditional Asturian style with beautiful natural stone walls.

Lola is on the upper floor at street level with steps down to the shared terrace with picnic tables and chimenea barbecue.

It features two twin bedrooms, spacious bathroom with wetroom shower, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area and a balcony with table and chairs. The lounge has a sofa-bed so the apartment can sleep up to 6 and we can provide cots for up to two infants. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine.

All windows are fitted with shutters to keep the apartment cool in the summer and there is central heating if you stay in cooler weather.

The lounge and bedroom windows look out directly towards the Sierra del Sueve mountains so you will have excellent views of stunning sunsets.

About the Owner

Nina & Dick first fell in love with Asturias on a weekend visit in 2004 due to the stunning scenery, incredible wildlife, great variety of activities and the friendly and welcoming people. This is an area of Spain which is completely different from the south and is a favoured holiday destination for Spaniards.

The property was purchased two years later as we had decided this was where we wanted to start a new life.

At the time the only buildings on the land were two run down barns.

We finally managed to start the redevelopment in 2012, converting the larger barn into the apartments and the smaller into our home. Building work was completed in 2014 and we are now open to guests.

Apartamentos Rurales Vista del Sueve are in a beautifully scenic and tranquil spot within easy reach of Cangas de Onis, providing the option of relaxing, enjoying the wildlife and slow pace of rural life, and watching spectacular sunsets; or spending time in the town at the various lively and friendly bars and restaurants. The views of the Sierra del Sueve are always stunning because they constantly change with the light, time of day and year, and weather. Redevelopment of the barns meant the new buildings could be designed and constructed exactly as we wanted them.

Apartamentos Rurales Vista del Sueve are two newly built rural apartments in Tresano, Cangas de Onís, a very tranquil mountain setting on the edge of the Parque Nacional of the Picos de Europa. With stunning views of the Sierra del Sueve mountains, we are only 30 minutes from the coast, just ten from Cangas de Onís and fifteen from the Covadonga.

Cangas de Onís is a small lively city with many shops, bars and restaurants. It is considered to be the capital of the Picos de Europa and its most famous feature is the ancient roman bridge (Puente Romano) which spans the River Sella.

The Covadonga is the birthplace of modern Spain, where the first king, Don Pelayo, began the rout of the Moors from a cave in the side of the mountain. This is now one of the holiest places in Spain with a sanctuary in the cave and an impressive basilica built at the end of the 19th century.

Asturias is in north west Spain, on the Costa Verde, so called because the landscape is lush and very green, unlike the arid south. It is truly a Natural Paradise, being a combination of rugged mountains, incredibly clear rivers and streams, sandy beaches, rocky coves and fertile farmland. There is a wide variety of animal and birdlife, including vultures and eagles, and it is one of the last places in Europe where you can still find wild bears and wolves.

The beauty can be enjoyed by car but there are many ways to get closer to nature; hiking, trekking and climbing, road cycling and mountain biking, 4x4 driving and quad biking, horse riding, swimming and surfing, kayaking, canoeing and whitewater rafting, river and sea fishing.

Regional specialities are local cheeses such as Cabrales, Gamoneu and Beyos; Fabada Asturiana - a white bean stew with morcilla, chorizo and lardons; and cider (sidra) which is poured from above the head into a glass held at arm's length to 'wake it up'.
