A charming and peaceful hillside villa with lovely views

Overview

Property

Updated: 06-Dec-2016
1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom; 2 bathrooms Sleeps 4

A detached single-storey villa, Tulipano stands high on the sweeping hillsides of Massa Lubrense, perched above the spectacular coastline of the Sorrentine Peninsula.

Blessed with sunshine throughout the day, Tulipano is surrounded by ancient olive trees, fragrant lemon trees and traditional vineyards. The location offers a wonderfully peaceful escape from everyday life, far from the hustle and bustle of traffic.

A car is required for your stay and there is a private parking space next to the villa. The attractive town of Sant’Agata is just 3km away. Here you will find several family-run restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores, mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers, coffee bars and pubs. Lovers of history will appreciate the Monastery of Deserto and the archaeological ruins.

If you enjoy walking, Tulipano is in the ideal spot to join one of the many trails of the Sorrento Peninsula, many of which have jaw-dropping coastal views. Or why not visit the popular harbour of Marina del Cantone, 6km away, where you can eat in one of the renowned restaurants, sunbathe on the beach, book a diving lesson, or take a boat trip to Capri, Positano or Amalfi?

The villa is surrounded by a large paved outdoor area, furnished with sun loungers. With a barbeque and a dining table for four, you will be able to enjoy mealtimes al fresco. The views are lovely, with the blue of the Gulf of Naples framed on each side by green treetops and russet rooftops.

Moving inside, Tulipano measures approximately 90 m² and feels light and spacious throughout. The décor is simple and stylish, with white walls and tiled flooring. There is an internet Wifi connection.

The cosy living room has brickwork archways and a fireplace, plus a flat screen television with DVD player and a CD player. Chill out on the large comfortable sofa with family or friends as you chat or watch a film.

The large kitchen has traditional wooden cupboards with tiled surrounds and offers everything you will need to create delicious meals from the plentiful local produce. There is a gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and Mocha coffee maker. The washing machine is in a separate laundry room, with ironing board and iron.

From the kitchen, a door leads out to the garden, making it easy to dine outside when you choose to do so. Alternatively, there is a table for four within the kitchen.

There are two bedrooms, both comfortable and attractively furnished, one with a double bed and the second with twin beds. Both have a door out onto the garden, so you can stroll outside upon awakening and breathe in the fresh coastal air.

The two bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, one with a shower cubicle and the other with a bath tub, with shower over. Both have a wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdryer.

Tulipano has a final cleaning charge, to be paid at the time of booking, totalling € 50. We also ask for a deposit of € 300 to be paid in Euros on arrival, to be fully refunded on departure subject to the satisfactory condition of the villa.

As a tranquil escape from a busy everyday life, Tulipano cannot be beaten. Whether used as a base to explore the attractions of the Sorrento Peninsula, or as a bolthole in which to relax, you will return home having enjoyed every minute of your holiday.

Beautiful setting in the countryside

  • 4 of 5

Loved our stay at Il Tulipano...and Feeling Italy, Lucia, went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed. The villa was clean and was well presented. We would have rated it a 5, except for very hard firm uncomfortable beds and pillows. We have very firm beds at home so are used to firm, but the twins were like granite. The only thing not well represented in the description is one of the bathrooms is accessible only outside. Not a problem for us, but the rainy weather, made it sometimes chilly and wet. The gardens were beautiful and we arranged to have a meal prepared for us upon arrival. Carmine, did a great job and was very flexible with our late arrival due to plane delays and stormy weather. We experienced a fabulous dinner at le fienile, (the barn), where the owner picked us up and brought us home. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food fantastic, it's family run, with mama in the kitchen. It's located in a small village not far from Sant Agata...Worth a visit, we went back for lunch after enjoying our dinner.

Lovely villa in nice location

  • 3 of 5

Cannot fault look of villa but lacking many essential equipment for self catering.

we were staying for 2 weeks and on arrival no welcome pack if we had arrived late at night we would not have been able to have hot drink.

No dishcloth nothing is left no washing up liquid you have to buy everything but even the small things you expect on arriving are not there such as soap to wash your hands.

The kettle leaked.

The beds were hard but the owners changed them on request and they were very nice and helpful

We did think when it said international T.V we would receive English but this is not the case it got dark quickly in September so the T,V would have been good.

The sun loungers had no cushions so hard to sit on .

This a very negative report but I do feel that this villa which has so much to offer needs much more attention to detail

as we chose to do self catering it needs to reflect this.

When people arrive it would be good to have the items that are necessary on arrival not costing a great amount.

having to go out and buy every single thing required is not good practice.

The beds were hard but the owners changed them on request and were very nice and helpful

Owner's Response: Dear Guests, thank you for your review. We are really glad that you liked our Villa, and the friendliness of the owners As a self-catering property, this is not rented with soaps, oil, winegar, et. It's not really a matter of money, but just that they are not usually provided. The hardness of mattresses is something that really vary from the perception, and customs of each guest. To be honest, we never received this complain before. However, we'll consider providing softer mattresses. Just like we did, as soon as you reported this. We will also make sure to replace the kettle, and to check the TV to make sure to receive English channels. If you had reported this during your stay, we would have been pleased to look into this immediately. The sun loungers are common ones, which are not supposed to be used with cushions. We thank you again very much for your stay, and we hope to host you again here in the future, providing a better service Thank you, The Feeling Italy team

Very pretty villa with lovely garden around the property.

  • 5 of 5

Very pretty villa with a lovely garden. Bedrooms are a good size and plenty storage space. 2nd bathroom you can only get to by going outside. Lovely views across the valley and you can see Capri too. Very narrow road leads to the property so a car with all round sensors was very useful for us. The property was clean and had all the utensils you need. The company took us to the property, welcomed us and told us everything we needed to know. We ordered breakfast to be delivered and this was presented in a box with 6 pastries and jams. The is some well stocked supermarkets down in the village (steep hill).

A great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We ( two adult couples) stayed at Villa Tulipano from from June 1 till June 5. The villa is a wonderful place to make your ``home base `` if you want to explore the area , or just to spend some time with family or friends. It´s a wonderful location for taking day trips to Salerno, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, Pompeii , Naples, the island of Capri, and boat trips around the coast.

The villa is just as described. It has all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. It is beautiful, clean , and well maintained. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is great if you visit with friends and want more privacy. Both bedrooms have patio doors towards the ``back`` patio. It has a shade, a barbeque , tables , chairs , a pretty garden. There is also a ``front`` patio with dining set. There you get amazing views of the gulf of Naples and the beautiful sunset. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and well equipped. There is also a nice living room ( which we didn´t even use , since we didn´t spend much time inside the house) .

Upon arrival we were met by Chris from Feeling Italy at the company´s office. He took us to the villa. At the villa we met Catie ( the owner). Both were extremely nice , friendly, and helpful.

My friends and I all wished we could stay longer , or visit again.

I greatly recommend Villa Tulipano to everybody who wants to visit the area.

Tips: 1.Get a small car. We had a Ford Focus and feel that it was about the largest size that can make all the turns. 2. Get an experienced driver. I wouldn´t be able to make it, but my husband had a lot of fun driving around. 3. Roads are not dangerous . They are more exciting than scary ( and that is from a person afraid of riding/driving on high roads and even bridges) Italian drivers are ``crazy`` , but in a good way, they back up, make room for you to pass on narrow sections, and not for a moment we felt endangered. 4. Unless you are very good with orientation, put the coordinates of the villa on your GPS. 5. Don´t be afraid that you´ll get `` lost``, because every road you take will get you to a location with breath taking views, worthy of visiting.

phantastisch

  • 5 of 5

Jederzeit wieder!
