converted portion of farm living quarters on two floors of about 80 square metres. The home is composed of a large day-time area with a double entrance. There is a large cherry-wood table I the centre of the room with a bench and chairs for ten people. On one side of the room there is the kitchen corner with an open fireplace. The kitchen has a four ring cooker, a toaster a refrigerator an all the equipment necessary for cooking. On he opposite side o the rooms there is a graceful glass-doored cabinet dating back to the thirties, tv set with sofa and armchairs.
On the upper floor reaching by a spiral staircase we have two bedrooms, the first of which very large with a double bed and the possibility of adding a third bed and the other with two single beds, and bathroom with shower cubicle.
One enjoys a splendid panoramic view of San Gimignano and the surrounding countryside from the windows.
The surrounding garden is pleasantly equipped for sitting in the open air, independent heating.
Il Borghettino is a completely restored rural hamlet in which the two holidays homes are situated. They consist in a portion of the old farm living quarters and ex-barn, both very comfortable and spacious. 90 meters each, with the capacity of 4+1 and 3+1 persons(with plus one we mean child under 12).
The hamlet is situated in a happy position, geographically. At only a five minute walk from the San Gimignano centre it is immersed in the tranquillity of country life.
I'm 45, I have two children, Sara 10 and Duccio 7 years old. I will be to the house from June to September all the time you will be there and in the other times you can find there my parents in low. We will be happy to give to you all the help you may need.
Looking forward to see you!
Roberta Falchini purchased this house in 2014
Il Borghettino was buoyed from my father in the 1960 and few years ago we have restructured everything, so....looking how is nice.....why not a holiday house.....
is quiet, comfortable, clean, easy to use, a lot of place for the children. A wonderful pool with a amazing view.
We can never accept payment with credit card. All payments excepting those made on the spot in cash will have to be made trough bank transfer orders.
We had a wonderful time at the property.
It is a short walk up a very steep hill to the centre of town, great that we didn't need the car as parking can be very busy in summer.
There is a large and and lovely garden and a kitchen that is well equipped.
Fabulous and helpful hosts provided great advice on places to eat and visit nearby, and delicious homemade pastries in the afternoon!
San Gimignano is beautiful and we would love to return and stay with Roberta again.
The lovely, clean converted farmhouse was set in the the shadows of the picturesque San Gimignano - it was located in beautiful countryside with the town just a 5 minute walk away so we had the best of both worlds! San Gimignano has many attractions and wonderful restaurants. There are 2 piazzas which were bustling in the evening - we loved just sitting watching the world go by.
We visited Siena (stunning), Florence (equally stunning), Pisa and Volterra. We were also advised by our lovely owner to try a couple of local festivals- which we did and loved. Without Roberta we would not have found them. She was always on hand to give us welcome advice, Both she and her family were very welcoming and could not have been nicer.
Some days we just spent lazing around the pool which was heaven.
We feel lucky to have found this little piece of paradise ....and we will be back!
We have been coming back to this villa now for 5 years and we feel very lucky to have found it. It is just 10mins walk from the town which means that you can enjoy being in the peace of the countryside, with the facilities of the town just a short walk away - great if you want to enjoy a drink with your dinner. The scenery from the villa and pool is incredible and it is really private. As the pool is only shared between 2 villas, it is always quiet and so you feel as though you have your own private pool. The countryside around the villa is stunning and my kids exploring the vineyards, olive groves and land, Roberta and her family are such brilliant hosts and our children really look forward to coming to spend time with their Italian friends. We have stayed in both villas, Finelle and Girasole and both are great if you are lucky enough to find a time when they are available.
We had a fabulous week here. Setting is idyllic with amazing views. 10 mins walk into the town which is stunning. Great for a family but staircase would not be suitable for anyone unstable on their legs as its spiral and not the firmest. Roberta and her family were so welcoming and very helpful. Really lovely touches too like fresh Italian baking!! Recommend very highly and we would love to go back.
Before arriving for the first time at a holiday location reserved online there is always some worry that it might not be what you expected - but not in this case!
Our 2 week stay in the Girasole was perfect! As soon as we arrived we were given a warm welcome by Roberta and her family. The house was perfect for us (2 adults and 2 children 11 & 13) - a huge main bedroom with a second bedroom which is fine for 2. Downstairs is open plan and very spacious.
But the main attraction, certainly for the kids, was the wonderful swimming pool which has great views over the surrounding countryside.
Being just outside the town it is also a very quiet location. As there are only 2 houses that are rented it is also very uncrowded ..no need to fight your way to the pool!
The location is also great. Easy to walk in to San Gimignano for a meal in the evening (some great restaurants and wine bars). In the heart of Tuscany it is very convenient to travel (car or train/bus) to other "sightseeing" places and the coast is also not far.
We thoroughly recommend this holiday accomodation and will certainly think about returning ourselves.
