Two Bedroom Apartment Comfortable for 5 Near Saint Peter's and Vatica

This unique and elegant 75 sq.m apartment can comfortably sleep up to five people and is located in an exclusive area of Rome in a 1920's Liberty style building, near Saint Peter's Basilica, the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo.

Located on a pleasant street, the area is well connected by public transportation. It offers guests peace and quiet, a chance to visit with ease the most important monuments and places of interest.

In the area there are bars, restaurants offering a wide selection of Italian cuisine, international, fast food and shops for all tastes.

The apartment has two bedrooms; the first furnished with a queen size bed, the second with two single beds. It is tastefully furnished with antiques, Chinese pieces and cheerfully decorated.

The living room a comfortable sofa bed, and two lounge chairs to rest after a long day of sightseeing.

The functional, fully-equipped kitchen has an oven, microwave, coffee makers and all utensils necessary for our guests to prepare meals.

The bathroom has a large shower, hair dryer, soap etc.

convenient and quiet apartment in Rome

always takes a little time to orientate yourself on 'landing' in a city, the apartment was located on foot to the rear of Vatican city walls. The streets and area do not appear on the local tourist info maps, usually covered by the map info panel! Once located, you will find a nearby bus stop available, and with a little effort, two walk'able Metro A line stops Via Aurielia and Cipro. the first is a walk down hill from the main road, right through car park, across garage forecourt and alongside narrow path by dual carriageway(very busy) Metro is visible, descend steps to find entrance. Cipro is up to the Vatican walls, turn left look for short close and narrow steps in corner, descend, dog leg through and cross bottom road, Metro is to right. Also useful Conad supermarket but do not cross the road, stay on right & walk along. The apartment itself is a basement flat 2 good sized bedrooms, usable kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a sitting room, albeit with very hard seating. comfortable and cool after a long hike around Rome. and though out of centre, if you use the transport indicated, you will find your way around quickly. Do arm yourself with a few spare transport tickets, at 1.5e they will be very useful in reserve. 1 metro journey inc. 100mins of finding second onward link, bus/tram. Rome is a remarkable city, but can become tiring in the heat, and fallback transport, even crowded, can be a welcome relief. Rush hour in an airless, heated, crammed bus, an experience! If you've been before, stretch your wings a little, find Ostia/Attica, a mini Pompei, EUR, a monolithic slab of Mussolini's view of Italy's world position, built for an exhibition that never happened with the outbreak of tension leading to WW2; fascinating, a complete contrast to historic Rome. If you have had enough of the tourist minefield around central Rome, try the small restaurant up Trattoria Da Aldo right opposite the Vatican wall, 300m away, serving excellent fettuccine pasta dishes, and the house carafe wine is very drinkable too. If you want more buzz but better value, find your way to Trastevere, Carla Menta, busy but decent food at great value prices, very busy. When you start to run out of steam, retire to your quiet apartment to refuel.

As it says on the can

Nice clean and tidy apartment. 20 mins walk to Vatican. 20 mins walk to St Peters square. A supermarket is 7 mins walk away. The apartment is quiet, clean and fully equipped so you shouldn't be disappointed. Good value.

Oh, remember to have your €3.50 per night per person Rome tax with you. I had forgot and had to sleep off to a bank and its about 15 mins walk. Overall a great little place to stay, as discribed on the profile exactly.

Cosy apartment perfectly located for a stay in Rome

A sweet apartment, perfect for a family of 4 and Gabriele was very helpful on arrival but then left us be (with a mobile to contact him if needs be) perfect! Everything was clean and set up for us. The half basement and air con units were a blessing in the heat of August.

It is a short walk to the Vatican (and the shops and restaurants around it) and then longer into Rome centre but do-able (although the bus stop is close by and the Metro a 10 min walk).

We "did" all the sites - For the Colosseum we used the Palatine entrance for tickets - no queues! but found this and the Vatican museums were ridiculously overcrowded but must see's. St Peter's was much better after 5pm and we found amazing churches just off the main streets without crowds but do expect to be refused entry if not "appropriately" dressed.

The "Goose" restaurant just down the hill (10 min walk next to Papa Rex) was perfect - we would highly recommend.

We would recommend this apartment to everyone - although not sure I would call it Elegant!)

Pleasant, well situated apartment, walking distance from the Vatican

Gabriele is a very helpful host. Organised transport from the airport for us and also stayed late on Friday evening to meet us. Useful information about bus routes, local shops and cafes. The apartment was comfortable, reasonably well equipped and spacious enough for the four of us. We had a great stay in Rome.

Cosy apartment in a good location

The apartment is cosy and was very toasty and warm, much appreciated as we were in Rome in January. The apartment was very well equipped with kitchen utensils, and things that sometimes aren't provided in self-catering apartments, such as washing up liquid, soap and toilet rolls. The beds were very comfortable, and there's a nice sitting room area where you can relax and chat.

There's a bus stop at the end of the road, where you can get buses into the centre of Rome quite easily. The buses run pretty frequently.

Great location, clean, quiet and comfortable.

Great location, near transportation. Close to Vatican. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. The host will arrange transportation to and from the apartment, such as to and from the airport or train station, which is a great asset. Would definitely book with this owner again. Highly recommend to others.

Elegant, comfortable and centrally located. It is the ideal choice for everyone who wishes to be situated in central Rome with all the comforts of a home. About the name: The apartment is named after the Via Aurelia which leads to it. The Via Aurelia is an ancient consular road that was began in the mid-third century BC by the consul Gaius Aurelius C. to connect Rome to Cerveteri, then extended to connect the new military colonies of Cosa and its Pyrgi founded in the third century BC on the Tyrrhenian coast and later connecting Agrigentum (modern Agrigento) and Panormus (modern Palermo).

I like the tranquility and charm of the neighborhood. The apartment and building are quite unique. The convenience of grocery stores nearby, restaurants and being able to walk to St. Peter's. There is free street parking. It has been recently renovated. I live close to the apartment. Bars, restaurants and supermarket are within walking distance. The apartment is well connected by public transportation to the main attractions of the city. I can arrange transportation for your convenience.
