A fully private villa with infinity pool located in Plaka. The villa has breathtaking sea view and the surrounding area is full of green olive trees. It's a unique property rented for first time this season after a complete renovation.
Ground Floor
The main entrance of the villa is in the middle of the property. On the left you find a fully equipped kitchen with a dinning table and an extra sitting area. In the middle as you enter you can see the sea clearly filling your view. There is a sitting area with two comfort sofas and a table, you can relax enjoying the views. On the right of the property there is a double bedroom with a double bed. There is also a bathroom.
All areas lead to the external semi shaded area where is the infinity pool with breathtaking views to the sea. There is an external fridge for your drinks. Sunbeds and a couple of sofas will make you stay there for hours. The pool area is not overlooked by anything other property. The villa is fully private.
Upper Floor
The internal staircase leads to the two double bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms ahve double bed and breathtaking views to Suda bay. One of the two bedrooms have a private balcony where you can enjoy the sea and the sun. The sunset will be in your view every single evening. There is another patio on the upper floor which is on the left side of the property.
External area
The external area of the villa is full of Mediterranean trees and some olive trees. There are two nice stone sitting tables around the area where you can enjoy your coffee and stare at the blue crystal sea.
The villa has high standard and is great option for relaxation close to the sea.
We were a group of 12 persons and stayed for 10 days. Villa Ioanna is ther perfect location near the sea, close enough to the town of Plaka so you can just walk there and get everything you need.
The Villa was very clean and in any kind of need you were helped within one hour (latest!) by email, telephone or personal appearance.
The heated pool option was the right decision and made this vacation a dream. We can highly recommend the Villa and the people around it. Anytime again!
We loved the villa! We visited villa ioanna with 10 people. Warm welcome and a nice pleasure to find a fridge full of fruit and water (and wine!). The villa is divided in two different parts with each 3 bedrooms. The 3 bedrooms do share a bathroom. On the upper floor there was an additional bedroom and two bathrooms. We had two people who had problems with climbing down the stairs, but I think that would have been a problem everywhere. Crete isn't as flat as the Netherlands is. All facilities where very good, all used materials were of high quality, the villa is very well maintained. The washing machine is handy if you don't want to take a lot of luggage. Cleaning of the house during the middle of the week was very nice, but not a must. Plaka is a lovely town and the area is just great for driving around and maybe for walking as well. In summertime a little bit too hot for that. The grass looks much nicer than on the pictures displayed. Half an hour drive from Chania and a little bit further away from Rethymnon. Lovely restaurants nearby, so we didn't cook in the villa, but if you want to you can do some very good cooking or have a barbecue outside.
We rented cars at Kappa car rental. Nice guys, but what we did find a problem was to get a car without fuel so you have to deliver it back empty again and at arrival you just want to drive to your villa without searching for a petrol station. This is quite unbelievable.
Do we want to go back to Villa Ioanna. Yes, tomorrow!
We were a group of various ages (17 - 67) who rented the villa for 2 weeks. For a few days we were 12 and we were comfortably accommodated with several seating areas and long tables in both the living area and outside. We thought it was a fabulous villa and garden – the pool was always clean and beautiful, the views stunning, beds amazing and, although the kitchen was small, it was manageable and we had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend it to people who want a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. The villa was cleaned twice weekly and was spotless. The local village is within 7 mins walk with lovely fresh bread available daily from the very friendly and welcoming couple who run the shop. The nearest beach only about 15 mins walk and has a good watersports centre. Crete is a fabulous island and the villa is a good base to visit Chania and the north coast.
Plaka is located 25 km from main Chania city and is a part of Vamos Municipality in Apokoronas region. Plaka is built in 68m above sea and offers a fantatic view to Souda bay and Akrotiri peninsula on the north west. In terms of view Plaka is one of the few areas that combine sea views and mountain views as you also have views to the White mountains.
The closest beach is in Almyrida which is about 1.5 km away from Plaka main square. Guests of Plaka can find all basic amenities such as mini markets, cafe amd tavernas; all located in the main square of the villas next to the local church.
Plaka is between Almyrida and Kokkino Chorio. All of these areas have permanent residents all around the year. The last 2-6 years Plaka and surrounded areas has been an attraction for foreigners who wanted to buy a home or spend their holidays. In the summer time, local people and visitors create a great place to spend your time.
