Large Villa with two infinity pools and breathtaking views of the adriatic

Updated: 30-Sep-2016
Sleeps 6, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms

Country style villa with stunning views of the Adriatic and shared pool

When it comes to spectacular views of the Adriatic, Villa Vita is hard to beat. From almost every aspect of the property the azure waters of the Adriatic seem to merge seamlessly with the clear blue skies creating an endless horizon.

The traditionally styled limestone villas nestle among the Cyprus and olive trees on the steep hillside overlooking the Budva Riviera. Small paths and stone steps lined with fruit trees and rose bushes connect the villas and apartments which are located over three levels.

Sunny days can be enjoyed around the 95sqm and 50sqm infinity pools.

If all the relaxation becomes too much then take a drive out to nearby, bustling Budva which is just a short drive away with its great nightlife and party atmosphere. Similarly close-by are the pretty fishing villages of Sveti Stefan - a former haven for royalty and Hollywood A-listers - and Przno - lined with small local restaurants that come alive in the evening with the smell of freshly grilled fish caught fresh that day.

The accommodation benefits from the use of a shared tennis court, gymnasium, table tennis, Jacuzzi and sauna all of which are included in your stay.

Mile after mile after mile of beaches, some dazzling and sandy, others made of multi-coloured soft pebbles, but every one of them sharing the brilliantly blue waters of the Adriatic – no wonder The Budva Riviera is famed for its beauty. This is one of the single most striking stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean, and much of it remains unspoilt.

There are sandy bays, hidden coves, rocky outcrops and water warm and clean enough to bathe in. But this is not just a place of outstanding natural beauty – there’s plenty of glamour to enjoy too. Budva Town buzzes with nightlife and fantastic restaurants that are full of atmosphere. Adding to this is the sophisticated edge that an over-booked marina berths crowded with super-yachts provides – that singular cachet of a place to be seen in.

Montenegro has too much history though to ever be just a place of the moment, and there’s enough serious culture here to keep visitors engrossed for days. Stari Grad, or Budva Old Town, is the jewel in the crown of the Riviera, a 15th-century citadel overlooking the bay and serving as a backdrop to theatrical, art and music events throughout the summer. The architecture, painstakingly restored after a devastating 1979 earthquake, is in the Roman style of the Venetian Republic, and encloses the honey-coloured Church of St Ivan and its Gothic belltower.

The bay is dominated by the rocky wedge of St Nikola Island – a haven for snorkellers – and the picture-book pink roofs of upscale Sveti Stefan, a hamlet of old-stone houses perched on a rocky outcrop and connected to the mainland by a sandy spit. Once a simple fishing village, the island became a hotel resort under Tito, and was favoured by stars including Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor. It has since reopened as an ultra-luxurious ultra-exclusive resort. The beach around it remains public though, and continues to provide a postcard-perfect place to swim and sunbathe.

Becici Beach is another stand-out among so many stunning beaches. So to say it’s special is an indication of just how beautiful it is – over a mile of sandy shores, retaining a laidback feel despite drawing visitors like a magnet. As a result every form of water-based sport and activity is on offer, not to mention a multitude of seafront cafés to choose from.

Outside Budva, the pebbly Jaz beach, on a sharp bend along the coast towards Tivat, attracts a youthful, fun-loving crowd, while to the southeast lie 12 kilometres of sandy bays and hidden coves, punctuated by the sleepy village port of Przno and the popular beach town of Petrovac na Moru (Petrovac-on-Sea).

Rising inland, the Pastrovici hills, reaching for the Crmnica Mountains, contain an abundance of picturesque monasteries and chapels set among wild-flowering pomegranate. According to legend, this is where Cadmus and Harmonia, founders of Budva, were transformed by Zeus into serpents and are destined to roam for all eternity.
