A Three Bedroomed, Two Bathroom Second Floor Apartment in an Elegant Building.

Spanning the whole second floor of a Hausmann style residence, the apartment is filled with light. It has been tastefully modernized and provides three double bedrooms. Two beds are queen size and the smaller third bedroom has a double bed. All the bedrooms have wardrobes with hanging space and shelves. Sheets and towels are provided at no extra cost.

The modern kitchen is open to the dining area which has a large table that can seat eight people. It is a very sociable space. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, electric hob and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave and a washing machine.

The living room is bright and airy with comfortable furniture, and interactive TV. There is internet access throughout the apartment.

Outside, there is a narrow balcony which runs along the length of the front of the property. It has a small table and two chairs. Downstairs there is a courtyard with table and chairs in the summer.

Sadly, the apartment does not have wheel chair access.

Allowed to share a vacation home that is superbly appointed by its generous owner.

The apartment was more than anyone can expect when holidaying abroad. Loved by its owner, and shared by my wife and I it was the perfect base to explore Cathar country. Inviting my cousin to join us for a few days gave me a chance to show her Narbonne whilst enjoying the comfort of the spacious apartment.

Will come again.

Members of my family have had property in the Languedoc Roussilon region for a number of years. Narbonne was always a place we visited because it offered so much to see and do. I decided that being in the city was for me - it is a place that I can use in any season at any age. It is a safe, friendly city and when I started to look for property I was thrilled to find an apartment in the centre, fully modernized and yet retaining oodles of charm and elegance. It is filled with light with marble floors in the hallways and living room and solid wood floors everywhere else. The high molded ceilings throughout the apartment give a spacious feel. The kitchen is modern and the large dining area is ideal for family gatherings or entertaining. The living room is a comfortable room for relaxing. I have installed an interactive TV and there is a desk and comfortable sofas. Three double bedrooms complete the picture, one with an en suite shower room, the other two bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower.

From the Owner

What I especially love about this apartment is that I can step out into the city centre to explore or I can walk along the canal. There is a lock just over the road where I can watch boats going in and out; there is an 'artsy' cafe below me on the ground floor where they have poetry readings and art exhibitions. An Edith Piaf night was on the agenda last time I was there. Across the road is the Hotel La Residence, the place to stay if you want a hotel in the centre of the city. It is Kathryn, the receptionist at the hotel who will be looking after you. She is British but having lived in France for donkeys years she is fluent in French and a mine of useful information about the area. The tourist office is just round the corner and the Cathedral is two streets away. Starlings have taken over the trees in the Cathedral garden and the sound of their chattering and the sight of their murmuring is truly impressive. Why else did I fall in love with this apartment? It may have been the impressive front door, the grand hallway and the winding stone stairway before I reached the apartment; but then when I walked through the door, it was pure delight at having found my new home in Narbonne.

  • We are two streets away from the cathedral and the centre of Narbonne. We love being able to step outside with all the amenities immediately available. Market days on Thursday and Sundays, a fabulous covered market where you can eat as well. Stroll through the charming old streets with restaurants and boutiques, book stores and antique stores. Catch a bus for one euro to take you to outlying villages and the beach; catch the train, for example to Carcassonne, Montpellier or Barcelona. Explore the countryside with marked trails; walk along the canal in the city and beyond. All in all, Narbonne is a wonderful location, pedestrian friendly, with many historic sites to see in the city and beyond.
