A fantastic property in a superb location.

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our choice for staying in the Dordogne and were delighted that the property we had selected, a beautifully restored french barn, had the superb amenities as described and exceeded expectations. It was in a glorious situation for exploring the endless beauty of the area. We were met at the property by the owners and they took their time to show us all that we needed. The owner's son was also on hand should we have any difficulties too during our stay. The property is located in Daglan, a charming medieval town which offers peace and tranquility but also restaurants, a boulangerie, a supermarket plus a Sunday market! We were there for over three weeks and truly did not want to go home. We would highly recommend this property and location to anyone, including friends and family.

All the family were extremely happy with our holid

  • 5 of 5

All the family were extremely happy with our holiday experience.

Started with a friendly welcome from Jackie when we arrived and she could not have been more helpful during our 10 day stay - not intrusive at all but available if needed.

The barn was beautiful, a lovely feeling as we entered, it has been done to a very high spec and particularly loved the huge master bedroom with the rocking chair and en suit.

The property is centrally located in Daglan down a quaint lane that leads to a simply marvellous area where you’ll find the beautiful river setting with BBQ’s, Pic-nic benches, swimming and our girls sunbathed there regularly, simply fantastic. The barn is within easy walking distance to 2 restaurants, cafe bar & shop. There’s also a couple of art galleries and even a hairdressers opposite the tennis courts.

Weather was amazing every day of our stay so the large outdoor barn was a huge bonus on the very hot days for a bit of shade but still able to be outdoors, perfect - very well equipped with all sorts of games and even a large pool table / snooker. Open fire could be lit which meant that everyone could sit outside in the evenings and doubled up into a huge BBQ.

The barn is very well situated for many of tourist attractions. Jackie has all information and directions to these which was really helpful as we’d not been to this area before.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the property.

Lovely relaxing holiday in fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

Very happy with our holiday experience.

Started with a friendly welcome from Jackie when we arrived and she could not have been more helpful during our entire stay - not intrusive at all but available if needed.

The property is centrally located in Daglan, within easy walking distance to 2 restaurants & shop. Thoroughly recommend La Cantine - a very relaxed and enjoyable meal with owners that speak excellent English. Everything was provided and the kitchen was especially well equipped.

Weather was not that great during our stay so the large Barn was a huge bonus - very well equipped with all sorts of games and even a pool table. Open fire could be lit which meant that everyone could sit outside in the evenings.

The river is just a few yards away which meant that morning and evening walks with our dog invariably involved plenty of swimming from him!

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the property.

Superb would definitely go again.

Well maintained, amazing scenery. Tobacco barn was a big plus for the property, for relaxing evening in. Everything needed was either walking distance or a short drive. Many things to do, in Daglan at the lake and in the centre Sarlat. Would definitely go again.

excellent property, location fab.

  • 5 of 5

The property was as advertised, very clean and well maintained. We had no reason to contact the owners as everything was as advertised, clean and well maintained. We would as a family have no hesitation in going back there, so yes we would recommend this property. The local restaurant was superb, the locals are very friendly. We had a day on the river. The Tobacco barn was a great plus, with family time and the BBQ.

Amazing, as description and photos.

  • 5 of 5

The village where the barn is in Daglan is rural and has very beautiful scenery. The property itself was very well set out and very clean. The outside area, which includes a converted tobacco barn, in which we sat out in the sun and barbecued. The property is about 20 mins from Sarlat where there are many activities, like boat rides. The locals are friendly and the restaurant down the rad i would highly recommend. I enjoyed my time here immensely and would definitely go again.

Notes:

  • The property has outside lights both on the property and over in the hanger / open barn. It boasts electric gates and a beautiful private courtyard with a plumb tree and a fig tree. The Hanger has a magnificent open fire, fantastic for those cosy evenings with romantic lighting from lanterns and side lamps on the fireplace. The fire doubles up into a BBQ so once you've finished bbq ing you can throw your logs on, sit on the cozy settee's and enjoy the atmosphere and play snooker or pool... Enjoy
