The house has 1 super sized king bedroom with a balcony and built in safe, there is an en suite with a a large walk in shower. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed. Bedroom 3 has twin beds. There is a shared bathroom and a ground floor WC. The living room has TV satellite, wifi and a large open air dining with seating for 6. The kitchen has large fridge freezer, oven hob, kettle Nespresso machine and toaster. The house is air conditioned with overhead room fans. The garden is very private with its own plunge pool. There is also a communal pool with sun loungers very close to the house which is ideal for children. The beach is literally over the road at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion hotel with 4 private sunbeds for guests. There are 10 houses in Turtle View which are surrounded by Bajan plantation, the houses are in a gated community and can only be accessed with a fob so therefore it is very safe. If you hire a car there is a private car park within the gated community. The house sleeps six and we also have a cot available. We offer maid service.
I am English and my husband is Irish, we have 3 children aged 20,21,23. We divide our time between England and southern Spain which is now our main home. My husband spends most of his time on the phone selling big machines that crush rock. I spend most of my time looking after him, which is a full time job. We have two lovely dogs a chocolate lab and a very spoilt maltese terrier called Bella.
Kimberley Herity purchased this house in 2014
My husband and I have holidayed in Barbados for many years we love the west coast in particular. We have always stayed in hotels and have had fabulous holidays never wanting to leave. Our three children love to come also and after years of spending enormous sums of money in hotels we decided to buy. Turtle View was perfect. We looked at many places but the location of Turtle view with its proximity to the beach and all the facilities was hard to beat.We also liked the fact that the houses are gated and the security is excellent. We would love to spend weeks and weeks in Barbados but unfortunately my husband is very busy in his business therefore we would like other people to enjoy our house whilst we cant. We love the beach and we decided to join the beach club at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion which means we have four sun loungers that our guests can use all year long.
We fell in love with our home in Barbados because of its location. We also liked that the people that had sold the land for Turtle View still live down the road and personally look after the houses and gardens as if they were there own.
We wanted a few days on the beach after a cruise which disembarked at Bridgetown. We had never booked a villa using the web before so this was a bit of an experiment. Everything was absolutely perfect and massively exceeded expectations, especially the help we got from the owner Kimberley with admin eg a taxi to meet us.
The villa is perfectly located very near good restaurants, Holetown (shopping and supermarket ),the bus route and the Royal Pavilion Hotel.
The RP hotel beach club membership provided by the villa owners enabled free use of loungers and parasols,a welcome bonus. The communal villa pool was also good and was largely unused apart from us.The villa is in a small gated community and we always felt safe.
Everything in the villa worked well. The smoke alarm was activated by steam from a shower but Tony the handyman fixed it immediately.
We would definitely return
Great trip. The house is well situated. You likely will need a car...it will just make everything easier. Nice pool, easy walk to the beach. Close to shops and town. Peaceful place to hang out.
This property has everything you need for a holiday in Barbados. High standard of furnishings and comfy beds. Close to the beach (access to the beach club is a great bonus) a couple of reasonable restaurants in walking distance and close to the main road for the bus if you don’t have a car. We have enjoyed our stay here.
We just returned from 17 nights at Turtle View No 1. The house was wonderful and the description on homeaway very accurate. The gardens are very well kept and we enjoyed many afternoons at the pool with our neighbors. The housekeeper kept the house spotless and we very much enjoyed driving from and to the airport with the wonderful driving service that the owner Kimberley organized for us. With the new and improved Massy supermarket just a few minutes away it was very easy to stock up on groceries. Holetown is just full of fabulous restaurants and bars. No. 1 has a Fairmont beach club membership. For us this was one of the main reasons for picking this particular house. The easy beach access and the convenience of being able to stay at the beach club really made all the difference. The owner Kimberley was lovely to communicate with and gladly answered our many questions during the booking process. All in all this was our best Barbados vacation so far and we can’t wait to return. Thanks Kimberley and Iain for sharing your beautiful house with us. Mariam
Beautiful facilities.
I am finding it hard not to write a stupidly long review as we had such a good time! This house is in a great location, an easy walk from the beach and the absolutely gorgeous Lonestar restaurant (seriously amazing cocktails as well as breakfast/lunch/dinner). The Fairmont beach club access was a huge bonus too - they have sunbeds and a great restaurant which is set back off the sand in the shade which was great for us as we had an 8 month old baby who wanted to eat sand all the time. Buses to Holetown are cheap and easy and fun and Massy's supermarket offers a free shuttle ride home if you have a lot of shopping. Like others before us have said the house itself is great, in good condition, perfectly clean on arrival, nicely decorated etc. with spacious airconditioned bedrooms and fantastic bathrooms (I am very fussy about bathrooms)! The communal pool is right outside the door and we spent loads of time there - it was always delightful. It was very tranquil on the private terrace apart from some dogs barking every evening. Take a few provisions and/or ask Kimberley to arrange for some to be there on arrival otherwise you will have nothing at all to eat and there are no shops within walking distance. We found food expensive (apart from rice and rum!) but it's really easy to get what you want. Barbados is a wonderful place! We have never been before and fell for it completely. The weather was amazing and the welcome even better. All in all, we would certainly go back. Thank you!
Turtle View is in an Ideal location for all the attractions of St James. There are numerous wonderful renowned restaurants on the west coast including the famous Cliff and Lone star which is just 5 minutes by foot up the Road. We are very fortunate enough to have four private beach sunbeds for our guests at the Royal Pavilion hotel which is literally just over the Road. The west coast of Barbados has 7 miles of golden sand and crystal clear Caribbean sea. There is excellent snorkeling and water sports available, you can also swim with the large turtles that frequent Payne's Bay. There is excellent shopping at Lime Grove including an array of designer shops cocktail bars and restaurants. If you are a golfer you will be spoiled at the choice of world class courses including the famous Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland both being within very short distance. The capitol Bridgetown is 8 miles away by car and definitely wort a visit. Polo is very popular in Barbados and you will often see notices for afternoon polo matches. Port St Charles is a luxury development of apartments and houses and has a lovely marina, this is a lovely place to visit and have lunch. The famous Sandy lane is only moments away where you can call in for afternoon tea or Sunday lunch, its always best to make a reservation. The biggest attraction for us in Barbados is the people. They are so friendly and always happy to please. They genuinely embrace tourists and you will always feel so welcome its hard to leave.
