Superbly fitted one double bedroom flat in the heart of London

This enchanting apartment, fitted out to the highest standard (like a top quality hotel suite, only lovelier), is perfect for a couple or a single person and works well for holidays, short breaks, or for business-visitors. A third person can be accommodated on a small sofa-bed which will be very comfortable for a person up to 170 cm (5'6'') tall.

This apartment is on the first floor (one floor up from street level via a short, carpeted staircase) of an exquisite Victorian townhouse, built in 1846. The accommodation comprises an open-plan kitchen/sitting room, with ‘Smart’ TV and Apple Box. Unlimited wireless broadband is provided, as well as DVDs and pre-paid access to Netflix. Making the most of every inch of space, there is a small desk area, the two-seater sofa and a comfortable armchair! There are a range of different lighting choices, to suit every mood and need. Linen is provided for both the main double bed and the sofa-bed, as are towels, face cloths, toiletries and a welcome pack of groceries.

The kitchen/dining area, which has underfloor heating to complement the apartment’s gas-fired central heating system, is fitted with every modern convenience, all of high standard: refrigerator, freezer, stove, ovens, microwave, extractor fan system, kettle, toaster, food mixer. Plenty of high quality cookware and tableware are provided, sufficient to hold a dinner party for six people, which the dining room table folds out to accommodate. And if you don’t feel like cooking, there are bakeries and a wealth of restaurants literally round the corner.

The bathroom is small but perfectly fitted, with a powerful shower over the bath and atmospheric lighting. A separate utility area houses a washer-dryer and laundry baskets, iron and ironing board.

The delightful bedroom contains a full-sized double bed (5’0” or 150 cm wide) made up with high quality bedding. There is ‘mood’ lighting, a phone-charger/radio/alarm clock and a well-lit dressing table area and, in the adjacent small hall, plenty of wardrobe and storage space. A hairdryer is provided.

From the bedroom, a door leads out onto a charming sun-trap private deck, with table, chairs and barbecue – perfect for outside dining on a summer evening.

Cleaning and maintenance are to the highest standard. This is a real home-from-home with every detail attended to by the owners, who keep a sharp eye on the whole operation.

The street in which the house is located is the most highly-sought-after in the area: small, quiet and as pretty as a picture. The local district, Pimlico (in Westminster), is one of London’s most acclaimed ‘villages’, with a pleasant local feel and a wonderful array of shops and restaurants yet in the heart of this great city. The location is unmatched in London. You can walk from this apartment to most of the main tourist attractions (see LOCALITY on this web-page), or go jogging along the Thames, which is just five minutes’ walk away and find yourself in the green spaces of Battersea Park, with its ‘peace pagoda’ rising up beside the water. Bikes can be hired in the area, and if you bring your own bikes, these can be stored in the basement (ask us).

The property is a few minutes’ walk from excellent supermarkets, some of them open 24/7 and the transport links are amazing. There are taxis galore and you are two minutes’ walk from the nearest Underground (‘Tube’) station (Pimlico- Victoria Line) and one minute from the best bus in London (the No24, which carries you past the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, No 10 Downing Street – the residence of the Prime Minister – and Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, on its short ride into the West End). Victoria Mainline Station and Victoria Coach Station are both 10 minutes’ walk away, providing quick and easy links to all airports and the overground rail network, as well as car-hire collection and drop-off points (parking is free in the street over the weekend and garaging is nearby). For drivers, there is easy access to the A3, leading out of London. For visitors from Europe, St Pancras Station (where the Eurostar ‘docks’) is a 10 minute direct tube ride away, from Pimlico Underground Station.

This was actually the first apartment that Adrienne and Martin ever owned! it was Martin's to start with. He knew the moment he walked into it that it was for him: light, compact, well laid out and situated in the best street in this delightful district.

What makes this apartment unique

The remarkable thing about 'Pimlico' (the area in which this lovely apartment is situated), is that it is quite like a village, and yet it is right in the heart of perhaps the greatest city in the world. Neighbours know each other; the three intersecting streets that make up 'the Moretons' (also known as the Moreton Triangle) contain many family houses and have an active residents' association, the people in the shops are friendly, and yet the district is cosmopolitan and exciting. In Pimlico you can be peaceful, yet never feel that life is passing you by. . .

Cozy, clean and convenient

Our family of three had a wonderful 5-night stay at this fantastic flat. Clean and full of modern appointments, the flat had everything we could need for our visit to London. We appreciated the welcome basket of goodies and all the information about the neighborhood, shops, restaurants and bus routes. It was especially great to have a washer/dryer so we could pack lighter. Our 9 year old daughter slept on the sofabed and said it was comfy. The location was extremely convenient to public transportation, just a five minute walk to Pimlico station or 10-15 minutes to Victoria and on several major bus routes. The street/neighborhood was clean and quiet. We weren't around the flat enough to enjoy the deck, but it was convenient for checking the weather each morning. Communications with the owner/manager was outstanding before, during and after our stay. Highly recommend!

Lovely flat in a great area of London!

We stayed 5 nights in this property and loved our time there. The entire flat was lovely and very cozy! The kitchen was modern with a small refrigerator and separate freezer, and well stocked with kitchenware and appliances. The owners also provided a welcome basket with food/coffee and basics in the refrigerator! The bathroom was modern as well and the rainfall showerhead was wonderful. The bedroom was small but big enough for what we needed and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the quiet residential street and the flat was nearby quite a few quaint restaurants, pubs and grocery stores. It was also a short walk to the tube station. The only issue we had was that the boiler wasn't working when we arrived so we had no hot water. We called the owner and they had someone out to check on it within minutes and it was up and running shortly. I look forward to staying in this flat again in the future!

Excellent!

This is a quiet, beautiful apartment on a fantastic street. The 24 bus is super easy, as is the tube, and the walk along the river is also very nice. The bedroom is on the back of the house, so you hear no traffic noise. A perfect place to stay.

London Holiday

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We were so happy with the location. It's close to everything. We were able to walk to all the attractions we had on our list. I'm so thankful for the basket of goodies that were left for us. I'd make toast in the morning before venturing out for the day. The electric converters were helpful as the one I brought did not work. I would stay again, matter of fact my husband told me to check availability as we'll be back next week.

Feel like a local

We loved our 3 days in this modern apartment in the Pimlico area of London. The location was fantastic: a great neighborhood feel but also close to the major sites, either walking or the Tube. Great restaurants within a short walk as well as great pubs. We enjoyed a pint at a local pub while talking to friendly locals. The apartment was very pleasant and nice to come home to after a long day of site seeing. Loved the heated kitchen floor and the great back porch. Adrienne and Carole were fantastic and extremely helpful. We highly recommend the apartment.
