About the property

Super cool 2 floor house, in quiet part of the old town, hidden gem, 2 floors

Honeysuckle residence is an amazingly cool house, 2 floors, 1 kitchen and 1 kitchenette, so 2 families or 3 couples can easily stay here.

The house is Stone built and made around 1600. After restoring the house, some hidden rooms were found that were buried under meters of earth, as well as the whole courtyard, so the house became instantly bigger.

This Rental has 3 spacious bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms.

Upstairs is a kitchen and a hall that is used for central meeting/living space.

Downstairs is the huge living room where another 2 people or 2 children can sleep on the stretched out couches, as well as another bedroom and bathroom, plus the courtyard that is good for 6 to have diner or lunch.

Above the building is the roof terrace that can be reached through the inside stairs. The roof terrace has some sun beds, some fat boys loungers, a couch and shade for those that wish as well, so this house is a unique hidden gem in the old town, where in this house it is as if you step back in time because the house has been decorated rather simplistic and humble with great respect for the live how they lived it in the past. There is no tv, no airco, which to our opinion is not necessary as the walls are on most places 60-100 cm thick of big stones.

Rhodes Old Town itself is surely the main attraction here. A UNESCO World Heritage Site [3], it is one of the best preserved and most extensive medieval towns in Europe. As you wander from the bus station, and over the outer wall and moat, it's like stepping back in time and reliving all your childhood dreams of being a knight and attacking exotic castles in distant lands. It is also the location of many monuments and several museums. If you want to see it all, plan for at least a day, and two will not be amiss if you want to see all the museums.

Medieval buildings, mosques, traditional fountains, oriental motifs, Byzantine and Gothic churches, shops and cafeterias are scattered throughout the Old Town of Rhodes, There are approximately 125 streets or lanes of which about 10% lie on the old Hellenistic street plan of 2400 years ago, that was a straight forward North/south and east/west street plan, with two hills, on one you find the Grandmaster´s castle, which is the busy northern part of town, and the other one opposite the first one two windmill remains, which is the quiet part of the old town.
