Though this suite is the largest of the 5 guest apartments of our house, we do prefer to host only 2-3 guests in it.

This elegant Aristocratic Beaux-Art style Landmark Townhouse was built in 1904 from Indiana limestone and Italian marble. It has been our family's main residence since 1994.
The lower floors we have converted into completely separate & very private guest apartments (all independent entry) available for short term let year-round.
We have been hosting guests from around the world since 2005.

As an executive assistant to an entertainment industry producer, I had the pleasure to interact with Julia regarding the Deluxe Terraced Suite at her townhouse.
My boss was a guest there for eight nights. The decor and location were exceptional and as described online. Julia and her staff were very responsive and always available to answer requests, accept deliveries and be of service to my boss. Their services, including daily housekeeping, were as impeccable as any top rated NYC hotel.
5 Stars for a very comfortable and extremely quiet stay at a location that can't be beat!
My family of 4 (+ dog) stayed here recently for a long weekend. Very convenient to C.P. and the Met/Guggenheim, as well as all Upper East Side environs. Plenty of good dinning/food choices nearby. The building owners (who reside on the upper floors of the building) rent several apts in the building, all of very good quality (we got a peek at some of the others). The owner (Julia) was always available for assistance, and was quick to respond. The building had the usual "old school NYC" characteristics; nice lobby, high ceilings, and good working elevator. We stayed in the "Grand White Loft", a 1 bedroom apt with 4 add'l beds/fotons nicely distributed in the living space. Though we spent most of our time out & about, the place had plenty of space and was more than comfortable enough. It all worked very well, and we'll be back!
As a personal assistant I was entrusted to book a complete trip to New York including finding a safe, quite, centrally located place to stay for a week for a very busy mother of three teen aged children. A friend of mine who had previously stayed here recommended this townhouse. It look perfect, exactly what I was looking for.
From my initial contact to departure, Julia was wonderful; very responsive and professional. She assisted with making several special accommodation and was easy to work with. My boss and her family have very particular dietary preferences; I gave Julia an extensive and specific grocery list of items for their stay. No problem, Julia took care of that and made sure the kitchen was stocked with the requested items prior to their arrival. Since my boss and her family were getting in late, Julia made sure the beds were all turned down and ready for the children to slide right into.
My boss and her family were greeted upon arrival by a live-in staff member even though it was 2 AM. The following morning Julia made sure to personally greet my boss and her family, and made herself personally available if needed.
My boss was very pleased with the townhouse. The townhouse was everything she envisioned; beautifully and tastefully decorated turn of the 19th century house, with high ceilings. There also was a very pretty courtyard, nice and spacious terrace. She was quite impressed and happy with my selection.
Julia's pre-arrival packet was so thorough and helpful. She really has thought of everything. If you want a worry-free, safe, quite, centrally located, beautiful place to stay, look no further. This townhouse will not disappoint.
We had an absolutely lovely time at the 5th Ave Townhouse. Our family loved being steps from Central Park and having access to so many amazing restaurants and shops in the area. We enjoyed having the kitchen and housekeeping everyday which is an uncommon service for vacation rentals. We loved the charm and the history of the building and we appreciated very much the hospitality of our hosts Julia and Claudio Zanetti.
My wife and I spent four weeks in the Terrace Suite on the second floor. The suite was large, bright and overlooked the rear courtyard. The location of the townhouse was perfect for us: we were a one minute walk from Central Park, perhaps only a hundred steps to Madison Avenue. I cannot imagine a better Upper East Side location. Our favorite restaurants were close by: Cafe Bolud, Caravaggio, E.A.T., and in Carnegie Hill, Sarabeth's. Museum Mile is around the corner. The Gagosian was across the street. Julia is a charming host. When I locked myself out, she was there with a key. When we needed directions or towels, she delivered them with a smile. Our room was serviced daily with fresh towels and linens. By the time we left Julia's home, we felt like family.
This is the perfect location for our annual stay in New York, and actually it was our second stay in this particular suite. We were greeted at the front entrance, our luggage was carried in, and Julia even managed to stock the refrigerator for us. As the location is on a very quiet Upper East Side residential street we were not confronted by the hustle and bustle of the city as soon as we stepped out of our front door. Central Park is only a few steps away as are numerous great museums and upmarket restaurants. Furthermore, we are at the centre of the city. The Subway/Tube is only a 4 minute walk, and quickly we were in SoHo or Times Square or the Theatre District. The suite itself is extremely comfortable, upscale, and secure. The terrace at the back is a lovely place to sit and take in what you have seen in this wonderful city during the day. The local amenities (food shops, restaurants) are plentiful and very near at hand. Julia is a friendly and caring hostess who is wonderful to deal with. She is meticulous about whom she lets stay as guests, and keeps the townhouse property in an immaculate condition. My wife and I truly had a wonderful time, and we are truly looking forward to our next visit.
