About the property

5 bedrooms, pool & garden, family friendly beach

Comfortable and well equipped, Maison Blanche has 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges, 2 bathrooms plus cloakroom wc, indoor and outdoor seating & eating, a pool for summer months and a log fire for winter. The villa can sleep 10 plus 2 small ones and 2 babies. It works well for a large family or the layout allows 2 families holidaying together to have a floor each, with a family bathroom.

INSIDE -

The Ground Floor :-

The Kitchen is well equipped, there is a tall fridge with small freezer and an additional fridge in the garage. Lots of utensils, crockery and glasses for inside and a full set of melamine plates, bowls and glasses for use outside. The main living space is open plan with dining table and 8 chairs - garden chairs can make up numbers if needed, 2 sets of double doors open onto the pool terrace and the side garden, a snug lounge with sofas, TV and DVD player. Separated by a small corridor is a full bathroom and cloakroom/WC, further along the corridor are 2 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin, both with fitted wardrobes & storage space, bedside table & lamps, full length mirrors, windows with mosquito nets to allow the cooling evening breezes in without insect invasion.

The 1st Floor :-

Lounge with sofa & armchairs, TV, DVD, satellite box with some English language channels. There is a bookcase with lots of books & a small selection of family films. Off the lounge area is a bathroom and access to a balcony that overlooks the pool. 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin, 1 Quad - 2 singles, 2 small singles + 2 cots, the small singles and cots can be moved to other bedrooms as needed.

OUTSIDE

The property is walled all round with a small side gate and large sliding gate giving access. 2 cars can be parked on the driveway - further off street parking is available 75 meters along the road. The front garden and pool terrace has outdoor sofa & 2 armchairs, electric extending shade canopy, dinning table and seating for 12 under a gazebo, BBQ, Eco shower, sunbeds and seating, 9mtr x 4mtr pool - deepest end 1.5 mts. A locking gate separates the side & rear gardens which have chairs and sunbeds, a variety of shrubs and trees including herbs and fruit that our visitors are welcome to enjoy.

THE VILLAGE

Le Grau d'Agde has retained the old fashioned charm of a small seaside & fishing village, edged by the Mediterranean sea and the Herault river. The village centre, beach and river quay are 5 minutes walk and have a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars. The village shops & daily market sell almost anything you could need making a car not essential. But if you want to explore the local area there's loads to see and do. Languedoc is the largest wine making region in France, has some of the oldest cities in France, links to famous old Art Masters, mountain ranges, lakes, rivers and canals, plus locals boast of over 300 days sunshine a year. This is a great area to visit for some history, art & crafts, beautiful scenery, a huge selection of wine, good food (especially seafood) and unfussy French living.

fabulous holiday again

This is our second stay at this villa and all of us loved it as much as our first stay. The house has everything we wanted. The pool and outdoor area is well used by us all. I had my fair share of figs off the tree in the front garden, they were delicious. The location of the house is excellent being only 10 minutes from the shops and beach. Communications with Tracey the owner are first class. Will definitely return to this villa. Highly recommended.

Lovely property in a wonderful spot

We have just returned from this lovely, clean, well looked after property having spent a week exploring the area. The house is exceptionally well placed for an easy 5 minute walk to the beach or the river front. The children loved playing in the pool and the walks to the daily market and the boulangerie for croissants every morning were so relaxing - what a lovely place! We can't wait to book again next year, thank you.

A perfect holiday

The house was spacious (sometimes took 9 guests) well equipped, comfortable and had a really nice ambience. Being at the end of an 'Impasse' it was quiet with the occasional outburst from the Boule park next door - which was very amusing. Tracey - our host - was incredibly informative and helpful - always available for help as was her amazing housekeeper. Agde is a delight and the listing of this property was accurate - the location is marvellous for young and old - I only hope it does not become too popular it is perfect as it is. I would most definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. We liked the restaurant L'Envie - a little more expensive than most of the others along the riverside but always top class. We went fishing, cycling and swimming also long walks along the Herault which is utterly charming. I would go back in half a heartbeat anytime. Thank you Tracey.

Wonderful villa

We have stayed at this beautiful villa before and yet again we were not disappointed. It is situated in a perfect position, in a quiet close but only a short walk from the town, sea and river. The villa is of an exceptional standard with lovely decor, immaculately clean and all that you need for a 'home from home experience'. Grau d Agde is a wonderfully unspoilt place and I would not hesitate to recommend this to friends and family. The owners could not do enough to help us make our stay as perfect as possible. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas, I particularly enjoyed visiting the town of Agde and Sete and watching the jousting on the river. There are also some fantastic wineries in the area to visit.

What a fabulous place to spend time!

This is a lovely spacious, well equipped and thoughtfully decorated villa in a charming french village.

The mountains and lakes to the north are stunning and the Canal du Midi so typically French. They both have kayaking and mountain biking but we enjoyed just waking.

We spent hours sitting by and playing in the pool. It has a bbq and outside terrace so we eat outside every night then we strolled down to the river front to the cafes and bars in the evenings and enjoyed the beach at any time of day. All the locals are friendly and most speak English although we did our best to speak French!

The Wine Cooperative in Florensac with its fantastic restaurant and the port of Marseillan were real finds..... If you like sea food this area is a must.

Our party of 10 had a wonderful holiday. The villas owner Tracey was so accommodating to our needs and we will definitely be returning.

Our stay at Grau.

Well equipped and comfortable accommodation. It was clean and well cared for. Lots of local restaurants within walking distance and many places of interest to visit. The pool was a plus. Would certainly recommend this property.

500 meters from the house is Grau d'Agde beach and the Quayside of the river Herault. On the beach there's a children's playpark, a volley ball net, you can hire pedaloes, look at Sand Art or walk along the beach to Cap d'Agde with several beach cafes to choose from along the way. At the Herault quayside there are restaurants with waterfront dining, boat trips can be arranged for Sea fishing, or sightseeing trips, Jet Skis or motor boats can be hired, you can catch the little ferry boat over the river to the Tamarissiere quay or walk along river bank into the old town of Agde.

Rates Quoted are for 10 people occupying the house. An additional charge of £30.00 per person per night or £100.00 per person per 7 nights will apply.
Bookings made 8 weeks or more in advance of the start date - Deposit of 25% of rental cost is required to secure the dates. Balance of 75% and the security deposit of £500.00 are required 56 days prior to the start date.
Bookings made within 8 weeks of the start date - Full payment of the rental cost and security deposit are required to secure the dates.
The property rental price includes:- up to 10 person occupancy, Property hire, utilities, WIFI, local tax per person in the group, cleaning, kitchen linen, bathroom floor & hand towels.
Bed Linen and Towels can be supplied at 18.00Euros per person per issue. This will be paid direct to the housekeeper on arrival at the house. Visitors are welcome to bring their own Bed linen & towels - mattress & pillow sizes will be supplied.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
